  1. Hope you don't mind the title Acolyte I need somewhere to dump stuff, hence this thread. Please keep comments to a minimum on this thread, and if anything excites you, start a separate thread (ie a particular regional flashpoint or buildup) and I'll dump stuff there too. peace
  2. Check this out! Now all we have to do is find similar sites for people who remember similar for Thatcher, Sharon and Cheney, and we can really start freaking - or celebrating. LOL. -------------------- The Mandela Effect Nelson Mandela died in prison. Many people — perhaps thousands — seem to believe that. That’s where the title of this website and my upcoming book, The Mandela Effect, came from. See, I thought Nelson Mandela died in prison. I thought I remembered it clearly, complete with news clips of his funeral, the mourning in South Africa, some rioting in cities, and the heartfelt speech by his widow. Then, I found out he was still alive. My reaction was sensible, “Oh, I must have misunderstood something on the news.” I didn’t think about it again for many years, until — in the VIP suite at Dragon*Con — someone casually mentioned that many people “remember” when Nelson Mandela died in prison. That caught my attention in a hurry. One thing led to another, and I discovered a large community of people who remember the Mandela history that I recall. <snip> http://mandelaeffect.com/nelson-mandela-died-in-prison

    Putin - the man

I start this thread because of several bits of information that run contrary to the western propagated image of Putin. I went to Russia about 10 years ago, and my 'guide' while over there, was Valery Uvarov, who was part of an obscure organisation called the National Security Academy. I was given a tour of the building and was quite impressed by what I saw. The organisation was an initiative of Putin and it was tasked to centralise, collate and process everything to do with UFOs, anomalous creatures, psychic people, especially children, ancient civilisations etc. Valery was clearly a 'Putin man', and I have to say that while I was over there, I SAW for myself just how popular the guy was amongst the ordinary people of St Petersburg. So I asked him what the purpose of all this was. This is what he told me. Putin has a reputation over there of not taking bribes, it is true as the article below also accounts. He told me that Putin created the whole outfit, in relative secrecy, and at arms length (deniable) from him personally. This was back when he was first in power. He said that Putin expects one day that the world will wake up, and the west will not be there as we know it. Putin wants the people of Russia to NOT be in total shock from the event(s) that cause this. The Academy is/was tasked with the agenda of 'educating' the Russian people to be more aware of our ancient history, that we are not alone in the Universe or indeed on Earth, to be more aware of consciousness and spirituality. It was to do this via magazines and books, films, concerts, exhibitions, radio shows, TV programmes. Valery himself was Russia's highest profile 'psychic researcher', and everywhere I went with him, people were pointing to him or coming up to chat. (He was also briefly in the band, The Scorpions, and is a good musician). I was over there because the Academy wanted to reprint Nexus in the Russian language, rather than re-invent doing a magazine like it themselves. That was the first time that I got an inkling that Putin knew FAR more about 'things' than anyone seemed to give him credit for. Then I read in some Anastasia (Ringing Cedars of Russia) books and forums, how Putin had been GIVING land back to people to go make productive, in some regions of Russia. The only other national leader I ever heard of do this, was Gaddafi. Then a week or two ago, I read an article in some Asian paper about Putin taking time out suddenly to go see his spiritual advisor/mentor. Some priest guy near the Finnish border. I will try to find out more. Then I saw this article on GlobalResearch.ca and was most intrigued to hear of the author's own personal experience. I recall Edgar Cayce said once that the 'hope of the world' would come from Russia, and it would be AFTER communism had ended. Maybe we should be keeping an open mind on all the bullshit we hear about Putin and Russia in the lamestream media. Article follows: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.globalresearch.ca/who-is-vladimir-putin-why-does-the-us-government-hate-him/5381205 Who is Vladimir Putin? Why Does the US Government Hate Him? By Sharon Tennison Global Research, May 08, 2014 winterpatriot.com As the Ukraine situation has worsened, unconscionable misinformation and hype is being poured on Russia and Vladimir Putin. Journalists and pundits must scour the Internet and thesauruses to come up with fiendish new epithets to describe both. Wherever I make presentations across America, the first question ominously asked during Q&A is always, “What about Putin?” It’s time to share my thoughts which follow: Putin obviously has his faults and makes mistakes. Based on my earlier experience with him, and the experiences of trusted people, including U.S. officials who have worked closely with him over a period of years, Putin most likely is a straight, reliable and exceptionally inventive man. He is obviously a long-term thinker and planner and has proven to be an excellent analyst and strategist. He is a leader who can quietly work toward his goals under mounds of accusations and myths that have been steadily leveled at him since he became Russia’s second president. I’ve stood by silently watching the demonization of Putin grow since it began in the early 2000s –– I pondered on computer my thoughts and concerns, hoping eventually to include them in a book (which was published in 2011). The book explains my observations more thoroughly than this article. Like others who have had direct experience with this little known man, I’ve tried to no avail to avoid being labeled a “Putin apologist”. If one is even neutral about him, they are considered “soft on Putin” by pundits, news hounds and average citizens who get their news from CNN, Fox and MSNBC. I don’t pretend to be an expert, just a program developer in the USSR and Russia for the past 30 years. But during this time, I’ve have had far more direct, on-ground contact with Russians of all stripes across 11 time zones than any of the Western reporters or for that matter any of Washington’s officials. I’ve been in country long enough to ponder on Russian history and culture deeply, to study their psychology and conditioning, and to understand the marked differences between American and Russian mentalities which so complicate our political relations with their leaders. As with personalities in a family or a civic club or in a city hall, it takes understanding and compromise to be able to create workable relationships when basic conditionings are different. Washington has been notoriously disinterested in understanding these differences and attempting to meet Russia halfway. In addition to my personal experience with Putin, I’ve had discussions with numerous American officials and U.S. businessmen who have had years of experience working with him––I believe it is safe to say that none would describe him as “brutal” or “thuggish”, or the other slanderous adjectives and nouns that are repeatedly used in western media. I met Putin years before he ever dreamed of being president of Russia, as did many of us working in St.Petersburg during the 1990s. Since all of the slander started, I’ve become nearly obsessed with understanding his character. I think I’ve read every major speech he has given (including the full texts of his annual hours-long telephone “talk-ins” with Russian citizens). I’ve been trying to ascertain whether he has changed for the worse since being elevated to the presidency, or whether he is a straight character cast into a role he never anticipated––and is using sheer wits to try to do the best he can to deal with Washington under extremely difficult circumstances. If the latter is the case, and I think it is, he should get high marks for his performance over the past 14 years. It’s not by accident that Forbes declared him the most Powerful Leader of 2013, replacing Obama who was given the title for 2012. The following is my one personal experience with Putin. The year was 1992: It was two years after the implosion of communism; the place was St.Petersburg. For years I had been creating programs to open up relations between the two countries and hopefully to help Soviet people to get beyond their entrenched top-down mentalities. A new program possibility emerged in my head. Since I expected it might require a signature from the Marienskii City Hall, an appointment was made. My friend Volodya Shestakov and I showed up at a side door entrance to the Marienskii building. We found ourselves in a small, dull brown office, facing a rather trim nondescript man in a brown suit. He inquired about my reason for coming in. After scanning the proposal I provided he began asking intelligent questions. After each of my answers, he asked the next relevant question. I became aware that this interviewer was different from other Soviet bureaucrats who always seemed to fall into chummy conversations with foreigners with hopes of obtaining bribes in exchange for the Americans’ requests. CCI stood on the principle that we would never, never give bribes. This bureaucrat was open, inquiring, and impersonal in demeanor. After more than an hour of careful questions and answers, he quietly explained that he had tried hard to determine if the proposal was legal, then said that unfortunately at the time it was not. A few good words about the proposal were uttered. That was all. He simply and kindly showed us to the door. Out on the sidewalk, I said to my colleague, “Volodya, this is the first time we have ever dealt with a Soviet bureaucrat who didn’t ask us for a trip to the US or something valuable!” I remember looking at his business card in the sunlight––it read Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. 1994: U.S. Consul General Jack Gosnell put in an SOS call to me in St.Petersburg. He had 14 Congress members and the new American Ambassador to Russia, Thomas Pickering, coming to St.Petersburg in the next three days. He needed immediate help. I scurried over to the Consulate and learned that Jack intended me to brief this auspicious delegation and the incoming ambassador. I was stunned but he insisted. They were coming from Moscow and were furious about how U.S. funding was being wasted there. Jack wanted them to hear the”good news” about CCI’s programs that were showing fine results. In the next 24 hours Jack and I also set up “home” meetings in a dozen Russian entrepreneurs’ small apartments for the arriving dignitaries (St.Petersburg State Department people were aghast, since it had never been done before––but Jack overruled). Only later in 2000, did I learn of Jack’s former three-year experience with Vladimir Putin in the 1990s while the latter was running the city for Mayor Sobchak. More on this further down. December 31, 1999: With no warning, at the turn of the year, President Boris Yeltsin made the announcement to the world that from the next day forward he was vacating his office and leaving Russia in the hands of an unknown Vladimir Putin. On hearing the news, I thought surely not the Putin I remembered––he could never lead Russia. The next day a NYT article included a photo. Yes, it was the same Putin I’d met years ago! I was shocked and dismayed, telling friends, “This is a disaster for Russia, I’ve spent time with this guy, he is too introverted and too intelligent––he will never be able to relate to Russia’s masses.” Further, I lamented: “For Russia to get up off of its knees, two things must happen: 1) The arrogant young oligarchs have to be removed by force from the Kremlin, and 2) A way must be found to remove the regional bosses (governors) from their fiefdoms across Russia’s 89 regions”. It was clear to me that the man in the brown suit would never have the instincts or guts to tackle Russia’s overriding twin challenges. February 2000: Almost immediately Putin began putting Russia’s oligarchs on edge. In February a question about the oligarchs came up; he clarified with a question and his answer: “What should be the relationship with the so-called oligarchs? The same as anyone else. The same as the owner of a small bakery or a shoe repair shop.” This was the first signal that the tycoons would no longer be able to flaunt government regulations or count on special access in the Kremlin. It also made the West’s capitalists nervous. After all, these oligarchs were wealthy untouchable businessmen––good capitalists, never mind that they got their enterprises illegally and were putting their profits in offshore banks. Four months later Putin called a meeting with the oligarchs and gave them his deal: They could keep their illegally-gained wealth-producing Soviet enterprises and they would not be nationalized …. IF taxes were paid on their revenues and if they personally stayed out of politics. This was the first of Putin’s “elegant solutions” to the near impossible challenges facing the new Russia. But the deal also put Putin in crosshairs with US media and officials who then began to champion the oligarchs, particularly Mikhail Khodorkovsky. The latter became highly political, didn’t pay taxes, and prior to being apprehended and jailed was in the process of selling a major portion of Russia’s largest private oil company, Yukos Oil, to Exxon Mobil. Unfortunately, to U.S. media and governing structures, Khodorkovsky became a martyr (and remains so up to today). March 2000: I arrived in St.Petersburg. A Russian friend (a psychologist) since 1983 came for our usual visit. My first question was, “Lena what do you think about your new president?” She laughed and retorted, “Volodya! I went to school with him!” She began to describe Putin as a quiet youngster, poor, fond of martial arts, who stood up for kids being bullied on the playgrounds. She remembered him as a patriotic youth who applied for the KGB prematurely after graduating secondary school (they sent him away and told him to get an education). He went to law school, later reapplied and was accepted. I must have grimaced at this, because Lena said, “Sharon in those days we all admired the KGB and believed that those who worked there were patriots and were keeping the country safe. We thought it was natural for Volodya to choose this career. My next question was, “What do you think he will do with Yeltsin’s criminals in the Kremlin?” Putting on her psychologist hat, she pondered and replied, “If left to his normal behaviors, he will watch them for a while to be sure what is going on, then he will throw up some flares to let them know that he is watching. If they don’t respond, he will address them personally, then if the behaviors don’t change–– some will be in prison in a couple of years.” I congratulated her via email when her predictions began to show up in real time. Throughout the 2000′s: St.Petersburg’s many CCI alumni were being interviewed to determine how the PEP business training program was working and how we could make the U.S. experience more valuable for their new small businesses. Most believed that the program had been enormously important, even life changing. Last, each was asked, “So what do you think of your new president?” None responded negatively, even though at that time entrepreneurs hated Russia’s bureaucrats. Most answered similarly, “Putin registered my business a few years ago”. Next question, “So, how much did it cost you?” To a person they replied, “Putin didn’t charge anything”. One said, “We went to Putin’s desk because the others providing registrations at the Marienskii were getting ‘rich on their seats.’” Late 2000: Into Putin’s first year as Russia’s president, US officials seemed to me to be suspect that he would be antithetical to America’s interests––his every move was called into question in American media. I couldn’t understand why and was chronicling these happenings in my computer and newsletters. Year 2001: Jack Gosnell (former USCG mentioned earlier) explained his relationship with Putin when the latter was deputy mayor of St.Petersburg. The two of them worked closely to create joint ventures and other ways to promote relations between the two countries. Jack related that Putin was always straight up, courteous and helpful. When Putin’s wife, Ludmila, was in a severe auto accident, Jack took the liberty (before informing Putin) to arrange hospitalization and airline travel for her to get medical care in Finland. When Jack told Putin, he reported that the latter was overcome by the generous offer, but ended saying that he couldn’t accept this favor, that Ludmila would have to recover in a Russian hospital. She did––although medical care in Russia was abominably bad in the 1990s. A senior CSIS officer I was friends with in the 2000s worked closely with Putin on a number of joint ventures during the 1990s. He reported that he had no dealings with Putin that were questionable, that he respected him and believed he was getting an undeserved dour reputation from U.S. media. Matter of fact, he closed the door at CSIS when we started talking about Putin. I guessed his comments wouldn’t be acceptable if others were listening. Another former U.S. official who will go unidentified, also reported working closely with Putin, saying there was never any hint of bribery, pressuring, nothing but respectable behaviors and helpfulness. I had two encounters in 2013 with State Department officials regarding Putin: At the first one, I felt free to ask the question I had previously yearned to get answered: “When did Putin become unacceptable to Washington officials and why? Without hesitating the answer came back: “ ‘The knives were drawn’ when it was announced that Putin would be the next president.” I questioned WHY? The answer: “I could never find out why––maybe because he was KGB.” I offered that Bush #I, was head of the CIA. The reply was, “That would have made no difference, he was our guy.” The second was a former State Department official with whom I recently shared a radio interview on Russia. Afterward when we were chatting, I remarked, “You might be interested to know that I’ve collected experiences of Putin from numerous people, some over a period of years, and they all say they had no negative experiences with Putin and there was no evidence of taking bribes”. He firmly replied, “No one has ever been able to come up with a bribery charge against Putin.” From 2001 up to today, I’ve watched the negative U.S. media mounting against Putin …. even accusations of assassinations, poisonings, and comparing him to Hitler. No one yet has come up with any concrete evidence for these allegations. During this time, I’ve traveled throughout Russia several times every year, and have watched the country slowly change under Putin’s watch. Taxes were lowered, inflation lessened, and laws slowly put in place. Schools and hospitals began improving. Small businesses were growing, agriculture was showing improvement, and stores were becoming stocked with food. Alcohol challenges were less obvious, smoking was banned from buildings, and life expectancy began increasing. Highways were being laid across the country, new rails and modern trains appeared even in far out places, and the banking industry was becoming dependable. Russia was beginning to look like a decent country –– certainly not where Russians hoped it to be long term, but improving incrementally for the first time in their memories. My 2013/14 Trips to Russia: In addition to St.Petersburg and Moscow, in September I traveled out to the Ural Mountains, spent time in Ekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk and Perm. We traveled between cities via autos and rail––the fields and forests look healthy, small towns sport new paint and construction. Today’s Russians look like Americans (we get the same clothing from China). Old concrete Khrushchev block houses are giving way to new multi-story private residential complexes which are lovely. High-rise business centers, fine hotels and great restaurants are now common place––and ordinary Russians frequent these places. Two and three story private homes rim these Russian cities far from Moscow. We visited new museums, municipal buildings and huge super markets. Streets are in good repair, highways are new and well marked now, service stations looks like those dotting American highways. In January I went to Novosibirsk out in Siberia where similar new architecture was noted. Streets were kept navigable with constant snowplowing, modern lighting kept the city bright all night, lots of new traffic lights (with seconds counting down to light change) have appeared. It is astounding to me how much progress Russia has made in the past 14 years since an unknown man with no experience walked into Russia’s presidency and took over a country that was flat on its belly. So why do our leaders and media demean and demonize Putin and Russia??? Like Lady MacBeth, do they protest too much? Psychologists tell us that people (and countries?) project off on others what they don’t want to face in themselves. Others carry our “shadow”when we refuse to own it. We confer on others the very traits that we are horrified to acknowledge in ourselves. Could this be why we constantly find fault with Putin and Russia? Could it be that we project on to Putin the sins of ourselves and our leaders? Could it be that we condemn Russia’s corruption, acting like the corruption within our corporate world doesn’t exist? Could it be that we condemn their human rights and LGBT issues, not facing the fact that we haven’t solved our own? Could it be that we accuse Russia of “reconstituting the USSR”––because of what we do to remain the world’s “hegemon”? Could it be that we project nationalist behaviors on Russia, because that is what we have become and we don’t want to face it? Could it be that we project warmongering off on Russia, because of what we have done over the past several administrations? Some of you were around Putin in the earlier years. Please share your opinions, pro and con …. confidentiality will be assured. It’s important to develop a composite picture of this demonized leader and get the record straight. I’m quite sure that 99% of those who excoriate him in mainstream media have had no personal contact with him at all. They write articles on hearsay, rumors and fabrication, or they read scripts others have written on their tele-prompters. This is how our nation gets its “news”, such as it is. There is a well known code of ethics among us: Is it the Truth, Is it Fair, Does it build Friendship and Goodwill, and Will it be Beneficial for All Concerned? It seems to me that if our nation’s leaders would commit to using these four principles in international relations, the world would operate in a completely different manner, and human beings across this planet would live in better conditions than they do today. As always your comments will be appreciated. Please resend this report to as many friends and colleagues as possible. CoEvolution - Nexus extracts thread

Hi, I have several consecutive posts to put into a new thread topic. I meant to do this weeks ago, but did not get around to it. I would point out that the author is a member here at The Chani Project, so this gives many of you a unique chance to interact with him. ----------------------------------------------
  5. [Reminds me of the Nanites on StarGate which resulted in the Replicators] Nanodevice Manufacturing Strategy Using DNA 'Building Blocks' ScienceDaily (May 30, 2012) — Researchers at the Wyss Institute have developed a method for building complex nanostructures out of short synthetic strands of DNA. Called single-stranded tiles (SSTs), these interlocking DNA "building blocks," akin to Legos®, can be programmed to assemble themselves into precisely designed shapes, such as letters and emoticons. Further development of the technology could enable the creation of new nanoscale devices, such as those that deliver drugs directly to disease sites. The technology, which is described in the May 30 online issue of Nature, was developed by a research team led by Wyss core faculty member Peng Yin, Ph.D., who is also an Assistant Professor of Systems Biology at Harvard Medical School. Other team members included Wyss Postdoctoral Fellow Bryan Wei, Ph.D., and graduate student Mingjie Dai. DNA is best known as a keeper of genetic information. But in an emerging field of science known as DNA nanotechnology, it is being explored for use as a material with which to build tiny, programmable structures for diverse applications. To date, most research has focused on the use of a single long biological strand of DNA, which acts as a backbone along which smaller strands bind to its many different segments, to create shapes. This method, called DNA origami, is also being pursued at the Wyss Institute under the leadership of Core Faculty member William Shih, Ph.D. Shih is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Harvard Medical School and the Department of Cancer Biology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. In focusing on the use of short strands of synthetic DNA and avoiding the long scaffold strand, Yin's team developed an alternative building method. Each SST is a single, short strand of DNA. One tile will interlock with another tile, if it has a complementary sequence of DNA. If there are no complementary matches, the blocks do not connect. In this way, a collection of tiles can assemble itself into specific, predetermined shapes through a series of interlocking local connections. In demonstrating the method, the researchers created just over one hundred different designs, including Chinese characters, numbers, and fonts, using hundreds of tiles for a single structure of 100 nanometers (billionths of a meter) in size. The approach is simple, robust, and versatile. As synthetically based materials, the SSTs could have some important applications in medicine. SSTs could organize themselves into drug-delivery machines that maintain their structural integrity until they reach specific cell targets, and because they are synthetic, can be made highly biocompatible. "Use of DNA nanotechnology to create programmable nanodevices is an important focus at the Wyss Institute, because we believe so strongly in its potential to produce a paradigm-shifting approach to development of new diagnostics and therapeutics," said Wyss Founding Director, Donald Ingber, M.D., Ph.D. The research was supported by the Office of Naval Research, the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, and the Wyss Institute at Harvard University. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/05/120530152203.htm

    Simon Parkes Interview

Okay, this interview is blowing my mind - a lot. I really hope you all take the time to watch and listen carefully. You will hear a LOT of CHANI titbits in there, but Simon has not been exposed to the CHANI stuff. Simon is that UK council member, who went public about his alien contactee experiences. In particular he talks about the Mantid aliens - which is one that most shun away from. If I was to identify an ET race that I felt connected to, I would always say the mantids - but because of the bad image of mantids, I would always keep my mouth shut. Hence I am excited to see more stuff coming out about them. Mary Rodwell in Australia, also compiles accounts from children around the world, who have regular conscious interactions with mantid aliens I have independent corroboration of nearly everything he is saying about what we call alien races, and how and why they interact the way they do. He verbalises answers which describe the scenario I have been trying to describe, but he does it so much better. Pay attention to the dolphin into - and then remember that Japan and its allies are into killing dolphins. Remember what CHANI said about dolphins being warlike originally? Herein you will hear more on why. I have minor issues with a couple of tiny technicalities regarding Earth stuff, but I can assure you that what I know about the ET races is verbalised by this guy. Enjoy
  7. I'm calling this story - "Microbes R Us!" lol ---------------------------- Microbes maketh man People are not just people - they are an awful lot of microbes, too POLITICAL revolutionaries turn the world upside down. Scientific ones more often turn it inside out. And that, almost literally, is happening to the idea of what, biologically speaking, a human being is. The traditional view is that a human body is a collection of 10 trillion cells which are themselves the products of 23,000 genes. If the revolutionaries are correct, these numbers radically underestimate the truth. For in the nooks and crannies of every human being, and especially in his or her guts, dwells the microbiome: 100 trillion bacteria of several hundred species bearing 3m non-human genes. The biological Robespierres believe these should count, too; that humans are not single organisms, but superorganisms made up of lots of smaller organisms working together. It might sound perverse to claim bacterial cells and genes as part of the body, but the revolutionary case is a good one. For the bugs are neither parasites nor passengers. They are, rather, fully paid-up members of a community of which the human “host” is but a single (if dominating) member. This view is increasingly popular: the world’s leading scientific journals, Nature and Science, have both reviewed it extensively in recent months. It is also important: it will help the science and practice of medicine (see article). All in this together The microbiome does many jobs in exchange for the raw materials and shelter its host provides. One is to feed people more than 10% of their daily calories. These are derived from plant carbohydrates that human enzymes are unable to break down. And not just plant carbohydrates. Mother’s milk contains carbohydrates called glycans which human enzymes cannot digest, but bacterial ones can. This alone shows how closely host and microbiome have co-evolved over the years. But digestion is not the only nutritional service provided. The microbiome also makes vitamins, notably B2, B12 and folic acid. It is, moreover, capable of adjusting its output to its host’s needs and diet. The microbiomes of babies make more folic acid than do those of adults. And microbiomes in vitamin-hungry places like Malawi and rural Venezuela turn out more of these chemicals than do those in the guts of North Americans. The microbiome also maintains the host’s health by keeping hostile interlopers at bay. An alien bug that causes diarrhoea, for instance, is as much an enemy of the microbiome as of the host. Both have an interest in zapping it. And both contribute to the task. Host and microbiome, then, are allies. But there is more to it than that. For the latest research shows their physiologies are linked in ways which make the idea of a human superorganism more than just a rhetorical flourish. These links are most visible when they go wrong. A disrupted microbiome has been associated with a lengthening list of problems: obesity and its opposite, malnutrition; diabetes (both type-1 and type-2); atherosclerosis and heart disease; multiple sclerosis; asthma and eczema; liver disease; numerous diseases of the intestines, including bowel cancer; and autism. The details are often obscure, but in some cases it looks as if bugs are making molecules that help regulate the activities of human cells. If these signals go wrong, disease is the consequence. This matters because it suggests doctors have been looking in the wrong place for explanations of these diseases. It also suggests a whole new avenue for treatment. If an upset microbiome causes illness, settling it down might effect a cure. <snip> Disgusting but useful Two other areas look promising. One is more sophisticated deployment of the humble antibiotic, arguably the pharma industry’s most effective invention. At the moment antibiotics are used mainly to kill infections. In the future they might have a more subtle use—to manipulate the mix of bugs within a human, so that good bugs spread at the expense of bad ones. The other field that may be changed is genetics. Many of the diseases in which the microbiome is implicated seem to run in families. In some, such as heart disease, that is partly explained by known human genes. In a lot, though, most notably autism, the genetic link is obscure. This may be because geneticists have been looking at the wrong set of genes—the 23,000 rather than the 3m. For those 3m are still inherited. They are largely picked up from your mother during the messy process of birth. Though no clear example is yet known, it is possible that particular disease-inducing strains are being passed down the generations in this way. As with all such upheavals, it is unclear where the microbiome revolution will end up. Doctors and biologists may truly come to think of people as superorganisms. Then again, they may not. What is clear, though, is that turning thinking inside out in this way is yielding new insights into seemingly intractable medical problems, and there is a good chance cures will follow. Vive la révolution! http://www.economist.com/node/21560559

Graphene may reveal the grain of space-time 13 May 2011 by Kate McAlpine NewScientist Magazine issue 2812. COULD the structure of space and time be sketched out inside a cousin of plain old pencil lead? The atomic grid of graphene may mimic a lattice underlying reality, two physicists have claimed, an idea that could explain the curious spin of the electron. Graphene is an atom-thick layer of carbon in a hexagonal formation. Depending on its position in this grid, an electron can adopt either of two quantum states - a property called pseudospin which is mathematically akin to the intrinsic spin of an electron. Most physicists do not think it is true spin, but Chris Regan at the University of California, Los Angeles, disagrees. He cites work with carbon nanotubes (rolled up sheets of graphene) in the late 1990s, in which electrons were found to be reluctant to bounce back off these obstacles. Regan and his colleague Matthew Mecklenburg say this can be explained if a tricky change in spin is required to reverse direction. Their quantum model of graphene backs that up. The spin arises from the way electrons hop between atoms in graphene's lattice, says Regan. So how about the electron's intrinsic spin? It cannot be a rotation in the ordinary sense, as electrons are point particles with no radius and no innards. Instead, like pseudospin, it might come from a lattice pattern in space-time itself, says Regan. This echoes some attempts to unify quantum mechanics with gravity in which space-time is built out of tiny pieces or fundamental networks (Physical Review Letters, vol 106, p 116803). Sergei Sharapov of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kiev says that the work provides an interesting angle on how electrons and other particles acquire spin, but he is doubtful how far the analogy can be pushed. Regan admits that moving from the flatland world of graphene to higher-dimensional space is tricky. "It will be interesting to see if there are other lattices that give emergent spin," he says. http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg21028125.400-graphene-may-reveal-the-grain-of-spacetime.html

  10. [Paul's research always has my attention, especially his stuff on galactic core super explosions. However, I have to point out the the track record of Courtenay Brown's, and the Farsight Inst for Remote Viewing events that eventuate, is dismal indeed. Either way, mid-2013 will be interesting just because of the collision itself.] Possible Arrival of a Galactic Superwave within the Coming Months? Posted on November 29, 2012 by P. LaViolette http://starburstfound.org/superwaveblog/?p=267 Recently we reported the story that scientists have been tracking a dense cloud of gas heading for the Galactic Center with its closest approach to the GC being expected to occur around the beginning of July 2013. See the G2 cloud story in the next post, or at http://starburstfound.org/superwaveblog/?p=246. But new information has come to light which may require a reevaluation of those conclusions. Just last week my attention was called to a disturbing report put out by the Farsight Institute, an organization that conducts remote viewing experiments. Remote viewing (RV) is the practice of seeking impressions about a distant or unseen target using paranormal means, in particular, extra-sensory perception (ESP). In May 2008 the institute conducted an RV experiment in which they used a team of 12 remote viewers to view 9 coastal geographic locations situated around the Earth as they would be seen on two future target dates: June 1st 2008 and June 1st 2013. The viewings for June 2008 were mostly normal in that they reflected what life would normally have been like at those locations at that time. But, what is somewhat disturbing, a majority of the reports for the June 2013 viewing described a radical departure from the norm as if the Earth had experienced some dire global event. The results of the experiment and the viewing of these 2013 earth changes are posted on the Farsight Institute website and are also described by Courtney Brown, the director of the institute, in an April 2012 Whistle Blower Radio interview. In particular, this remote-viewing data suggests that by mid 2013 these target coastal locations will have experienced: a) some form of impact that leads to tsunamis and possible vulcanism, b) extensive and forceful flooding, c) excessive cosmic ray (or solar) radiation, and d) storms and other severe weather. What is particular noteworthy is that (in my opinion) many of these reported physical effects resemble those that might be expected to occur in connection with the impact of a galactic superwave. In regard to the first two viewed effects, it is possible to consider that this impact or “collision” may be due to the abrupt arrival of a gravity wave traveling outward from the Galactic center. The steep gravity potential gradient that might propagate at the forefront of a superwave could abruptly push (or pull) the Earth together with the Moon, Sun, and planets. The large tidal forces appearing with the wave’s arrival could cause a substantial torquing of the Earth’s spin axis which could trigger earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions. Gravity wave effects are the most little understood aspect of the superwave phenomenon because we have no way to verify their presence in distant active galaxies. As one instance of prior experience, we can consider the December 26, 2004 Malaysian earthquake and tsunami which occurred two days prior to the arrival of the most intense gamma ray burst to be observed in modern times and which is the only one to have originated from a star in our Galaxy. Again the second effect listed in the above summary, the forceful flooding, would be a consequence of a tsunami and could again arise from a superwave gravity wave impact. Understand that these are not definite conclusions only observations of similarity to the RV reports. Looking at the reports from the worst case scenario (Timeline A), we may consider viewer Daz for example, who focuses on Mombasa, Kenya. For 2013 he reports the presence of “many man made structures” that are “interacted with by a speedy energy/motion.” Daz writes “a large city with many structures. These feel impacted by a fast moving energetic that causes damage, destruction to the structures.” ”This is surprised and causes chaos and damage. The cause feels natural — part of a natural cycle.” This sounds much like a tsunami. But the reference to a natural cycle calls to mind a possible superwave cause. Viewer Allgire, focusing on this same target, accurately draws a shoreline with a snow-capped, inland mountain in the background which he labels as “Kilamanjaro”. Kilamanjaro is in fact about 250 km inland from Mombasa. But in one picture he draws of the coastal area he shows arrows coming inland from the sea and writes “water moves inland, pushes; force hits shoreline; tsunami, hurricane.” Another viewer, Maria, focusing on the Mumbasa target drew a picture depicting some sort of spiraling trajectory from the sky to the ground and in the next picture depicts an outward energetic motion that seems to flatten trees and structures in all directions. She labels this spiral with the word “energy” and shows what appears to be an invisible protective dome over an area of houses being impacted and labels this dome “Israel.” This calls to mind the conflict between the Palestinians and Israel that sprang up in the fall of 2012 and which at the time of writing has halted with a cease fire. So this implies either a missile strike or something which is missile-strike-like, such as a comet impact. In fact, the Farsight Institute analysis has interpreted these tsunami-producing impacts as being due to Earth’s future collision with large meteors. One viewer, Dick, focussing on the coordinate for Key West, Florida in 2013 drew a diagram showing an arcing trajectory with an impact indicated and arrows radiating outward with the words “secondary waves of energy radiate, seems to ignite, kinetic energy transformed into thermal energy.” In another diagram he drew arrows directed at people and writes: “There is unexpected energy here that radiates. Energy surpasses humans. They feel exposed, caught out in the open. Urge to flee.” Astronomers currently have not reported any approaching comet, especially one that might collide with the Earth prior to June 2013. So the origin of this arcing impact is a bit of a mystery. Could a superwave gravity wave create a disproportionately greater propulsion force on nearby small bodies, of size 10 meters or so, and forcefully propel them onto the Earth? Perhaps this is something to consider as well. The reports of the high cosmic ray intensities would also be expected from a superwave arrival. For example, remote viewer Sita focussing on the coordinat e for the U.S. Congress building in Washington wrote “power spot: electromagnetic strength above normal” “there is high electromagnetic activity taking place near target”. Also viewer Allgire focussing on the coordinate for Sydney, Australia reported the presence of an ozone hole and drew a diagram showing the Earth and stratosphere with a note saying “radiation beats down”. This too would be an expected consequence of a superwave since elevated cosmic ray radiation would produce elevated nitric oxides in the stratosphere which would photolytically destroy the polar ozone layer rendering high latitude regions such as Sydney susceptable to in increased flux of UV radiation. The Timeline A remote-viewing data also suggested that by mid 2013 people at these target coastal locations would be experiencing the following hardships: 1. Massive self-organized relocation from coastal areas (refugees) 2. The breakdown of rescue or other notable governmental functioning 3. The breakdown of the food supply system 4. The breakdown of the vehicular transport system 5. Extensive loss of buildings near coasts All of the above remote viewing data appears to suggest that a superwave-like event will strike prior to June 1st 2013, hence some time between the last month of 2012 and the first five months of 2013. Although there is the consolation that a substantial fraction of the remote viewings did not see this outcome, a total of 18 out of 38 sessions, or about 47% of the viewings, reported events that could be interpreted as a normal extrapolation of present day events at those locations. So, there is a substantial possibility that things will not turn out as bad as the other 53% of the viewings seem to indicate. We will only know after June 1st 2013 who was correct. Nevertheless the catastrophic predictions due raise some concern regarding the impending arrival of a superwave, particularly in view of the fact that in recent years astronomers have been tracking a large gas cloud with a possible hidden dwarf star positioned extremely close to the Galactic core and making its way toward Galactic center perigee (closest approach) by July 2013. In my previous posting about this G2 cloud, I had concluded that the cloud would likely not trigger a superwave, but I was not 100 percent certain. I noted that if there were a brown dwarf star or jovian planet embedded in this cloud, as this star or planet came in close to the Galactic core, its diameter would radically inflate through a kind of super Hot Jupiter effect. Hot Jupiters are jupiter-like planets that are in close orbit to their parent star and seen to be unusually bloated by excess energy production in their interiors. Whereas Hot Jupiters are seen to have diameters up to 80% larger than normal, a brown dwarf approaching the Galactic center, where the tidal forces and gravity potential are far far greater, may inflate to many times their normal size. This excess energy production may be due in part to the tremendous increase in genic energy in the star’s interior arising from the embedded star’s entry into increasingly supercritical conditions as it approaches increasingly close to the Galactic center. This genic energy effect is something astronomers are currently not taking into account in their assessment of this G2 cloud mainly because the idea is still rather new and isn’t yet part of mainstream astronomy. But it could be a very important factor missing from their calculations. As the star became increasingly bloated, the area it presented would intercept an increasingly large fraction of the cosmic ray flux being emitted from the galactic core. This cosmic ray flux would further contribute to its heating. So it is quite possible that all these factors together (tidal forces, genic energy, and the intercepted energy flux) might be sufficient to overcome the star’s self-gravity and rip it apart. Once ripped apart this dispersed material would readily fall onto the Galactic core’s surface triggering highly energetic activity. So now instead of talking about a 3 earth mass gas cloud we are talking about a possible 10 to 100 Jupiter mass planet or star being consumed, 3000 to 30,000 times more matter/energy. This could be then sufficient to trigger a core explosion. I have been in touch with Courtney Brown, director of the Farsight Institute, and asked him if any further remote viewing work has been done to further narrow down the time of this global event. He responded that the event is too close in time to do more remote viewing on. He said that the viewers would not be satisfactorily blind to the targets and the data would as a result be junk. He said that their past 2008 data was “virgin” so to speak, so they are reliable. But the new data would be contaminated since everyone would be thinking that they were viewing a post 2012 target. In other words, although viewers are not told in advance what time period they are given for viewing, being now so close to the end of 2012 and given the previous data that they are now aware of and all the frightening scenarios that have been publicly circulated, including the movie 2012, their reports would likely be subconsciously influenced and biased. Dr. Brown does not see a benefit to speculating in advance as to what might be the cause of the 2013 viewing results, whether caused by a superwave or some other phenomenon. He says that although the data are really strange, they could be wrong. He views this as an experiment that was conducted and whose outcome can only be known on June 1st, 2013 when we can see what the actual targets will look like and compare to the RV descriptions. The Minority Report. I recently discussed the Farsight Institute findings with one remote viewer who has had an established successful viewing track record. He has followed the work of the Farsight Institute but has personal doubts about the validity of the June 2013 viewings, at least the half that had a catastrophic outlook. He also related that he heard about the superwave phenomenon 6 months ago and was asked to look into it. From the materials he collected, his sense was that, here on our planet, we probably won’t even know that we passed through the wave. He said that there will however be some effects but they will be subtle and not extreme to any point or issue. He did not see the wave as hitting us, but rather sees us as “passing through the wave”. So here we have two very different remote viewing scenarios. One reports severe physical and social effects by June 2013 and the other sees that nothing very out of the ordinary will happen. As to which might be the correct view, I leave that up to you to decide. Consult your own intuition. Or just wait and see what happens. This leaves us with the question as to what is the significance of the 2037 date that is implied by the periods of the Crab and Vela pulsars. These are two SETI beacons that are a key part of a message that warns us about the Galactic superwave phenomenon. Then there is the July 8, 2008 Avebury Manor crop circle which encodes almost the same date (July 2035) in addition to the December 21, 2012 date (see the lecture video “Intelligent Communication from the Galaxy“). It is worth mentioning one other remote viewing study of the future, one that was conducted by Stephen Schwartz, who is currently a senior fellow at the Samueli Institute. He had directed a team of over 4000 subjects to remote view the date 2050 and found the following. People at that future date were reported to no longer depend on utilities for their power or gasoline for their cars. Some kind of energy revolution has decentralized power production, each house having its own energy source. They saw most chronic genetic diseases as having been eliminated and that there was an increasing use of genetic engineering in affluent countries. But, rather than there being a problem with overpopulation, in 2050 they predicted that there was an under population problem in a many places possibly due to a lower birthrate and multiple pandemics. Or should we include a 2013-like event as another possible cause. This calls to mind the Georgia Guidestones timecapsule. Based on the 2050 Project report it appears that many of us may still be around to see that future day and this gives us hope that whatever might happen in the next half year may not be a final end, but maybe a new beginning. Trying to predict when the next superwave will arrive or whether it will be a big or small magnitude event is like trying to walk forward while looking backward. Even though a nearing superwave would have left the Galactic center 23,000 years ago, we are essentially blind to determine such future events through our normal senses. When we feel earthquakes and see its signs in the sky, it will have already arrived and our time to prepare will have run out. As it is said, “The Day of the Lord arrives like a Thief in the Night.” In times of uncertainty like the present we turn to remote viewer reports. But, here too we find differences of opinion. In the words of the Jedi master, Yoda, “Always in motion, the future is.” The Starburst Foundation which hosts this forum doesn’t necessarily endorse any of these future views. But we feel that we should at least inform the public about them and their possible relevance to the next superwave arrival. Meanwhile the scientific community is taking seriously this window of observation of events that will be seen to transpire in the vicinity of the Galactic center. A committee of 10 scientists chaired by Geoffrey Bower of U.C. Berkeley had been asked to decide what will be the Galactic center observation policy for the National Radio Astronomy Observatory and, as a result, on June 29, 2012 they issued a recommendation report. They have agreed that during this critical period of the G2 cloud encounter that radio telescopes should monitor the Galactic center’s radio flux density on a weekly basis. Twenty three years ago I was advocating observations on a daily basis, but this is a step in the right direction. But they admit they don’t know what to expect will be the Galactic core’s response to this accretion event. In one part of their report they state: Within a few year timescale, an increase in the radio flux from the inner accretion flow is expected to occur, accompanied by a resolvable change in the size of the radio emitting region. We emphasize, however, that given the uniqueness of this event, there could be other effects and outcomes that have not been thought of and that the community should be prepared for. They note that if the flux is seen to rise above a certain threshold, say 3 times its long-term average, they propose to initiate more intensive monitoring including very long baseline astrometric monitoring which will yield an extra high resolution of the Galactic core. If something big does happen, will they let the public know without delay? Or will they sit on the data for months as they did in the case of the intense December 28th 2004 gamma ray burst which they informed the public about two months later! 11. I'm thinking that the 'gap' between our old measurement of time, (ie one second was 1/86400th of one Earth rotation on its axis) and the new measurement of time (ie one second is the duration of 9,192,631,770 periods of the radiation corresponding to the transition between the two hyperfine levels of the ground state of the caesium 133 atom) - must be getting bigger. This article below looks at the first definitive measurements by scientists of the Earth's rotation. Obviously the 'old' measurements of a second would vary a lot, which is a big deal in our high-tech precision society. Those recent debates about introducing a 'leap second' though, are starting to make me wonder just how 'stable' the "ground state of the caesium 133 atom" really is. More on that later. ----------------- First Ever Direct Measurement of Earth's Rotation ScienceDaily (Dec. 22, 2011) — A group with researchers at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) are the first to plot changes in Earth's axis through laboratory measurements. To do this, they constructed the world's most stable ring laser in an underground lab and used it to determine changes in Earth's rotation. Previously, scientists were only able to track shifts in the polar axis indirectly by monitoring fixed objects in space. Capturing the tilt of Earth's axis and its rotational velocity is crucial for precise positional information on Earth -- and thus for the accurate functioning of modern navigation systems, for instance. The scientists' work has been recognized an Exceptional Research Spotlight by the American Physical Society. Planet Earth wobbles. Like a spinning top touched in mid-spin, its rotational axis fluctuates in relation to space. This is partly caused by gravitation from the sun and the moon. At the same time, Earth's rotational axis constantly changes relative to Earth's surface. On the one hand, this is caused by variation in atmospheric pressure, ocean loading and wind. These elements combine in an effect known as the Chandler wobble to create polar motion. Named after the scientist who discovered it, this phenomenon has a period of around 435 days. On the other hand, an event known as the "annual wobble" causes the rotational axis to move over a period of a year. This is due to Earth's elliptical orbit around the sun. These two effects cause Earth's axis to migrate irregularly along a circular path with a radius of up to six meters. Capturing these movements is crucial to create a reliable coordinate system that can feed navigation systems or project trajectory paths in space travel. "Locating a point to the exact centimeter for global positioning is an extremely dynamic process -- after all, at our latitude, we are moving at around 350 meters to the east per second," explains Prof. Karl Ulrich Schreiber who directed the project in TUM's Research Section Satellite Geodesy. The orientation of Earth's axis relative to space and its rotational velocity are currently established in a complicated process that involves 30 radio telescopes around the globe. Every Monday and Thursday, eight to twelve of these telescopes alternately measure the direction between Earth and specific quasars. Scientists assume that these galaxy nuclei never change their position and can therefore be used as reference points. The geodetic observatory Wettzell, which is run by TUM and Germany's Federal Agency for Cartography (BKG), is also part of this process. In the mid-1990s, scientists of TUM and BKG joined forces with researchers at New Zealand's University of Canterbury to develop a simpler method that would be capable of continuously tracking the Chandler wobble and annual wobble. "We also wanted to develop an alternative that would enable us to eliminate any systematic errors," continues Schreiber. "After all, there was always a possibility that the reference points in space were not actually stationary." The scientists had the idea of building a ring laser similar to ones used in aircraft guidance systems -- only millions of times more exact. "At the time, we were almost laughed off. Hardly anyone thought that our project was feasible," says Schreiber. Yet at the end of the 1990s, work on the world's most stable ring laser got underway at the Wettzell observatory. The installation comprises two counter-rotating laser beams that travel around a square path with mirrors in the corners, which form a closed beam path (hence the name ring laser). When the assembly rotates, the co-rotating light has farther to travel than the counter-rotating light. The beams adjust their wavelengths, causing the optical frequency to change. The scientists can use this difference to calculate the rotational velocity the instrumentation experiences. In Wettzell, it is Earth that rotates, not the ring laser. To ensure that only Earth's rotation influences the laser beams, the four-by-four-meter assembly is anchored in a solid concrete pillar, which extends six meters down into the solid rock of Earth's crust. Earth's rotation affects light in different ways, depending on the laser's location. "If we were at one of the poles, the Earth and the laser's rotational axes would be in complete synch and their rotational velocity would map 1:1," details Schreiber. "At the equator, however, the light beam wouldn't even notice that the Earth is turning." The scientists therefore have to factor in the position of the Wettzell laser at the 49th degree of latitude. Any change in Earth's rotational axis is reflected in the indicators for rotational velocity. The light's behavior therefore reveals shifts in Earth's axis. "The principle is simple," adds Schreiber. "The biggest challenge was ensuring that the laser remains stable enough for us to measure the weak geophysical signal without interference -- especially over a period of several months." In other words, the scientists had to eliminate any changes in frequency that do not come from Earth's rotation. These include environmental factors such as atmospheric pressure and temperature. They relied predominantly on a ceramic glass plate and a pressurized cabin to achieve this. The researchers mounted the ring laser on a nine-ton Zerodur base plate, also using Zerodur for the supporting beams. They chose Zerodur as it is extremely resistant to changes in temperature. The installation is housed in a pressurized cabin, which registers changes in atmospheric pressure and temperature (12 degrees) and automatically compensates for these. The scientists sunk the lab five meters below ground level to keep these kinds of ambient influences to a minimum. It is insulated from above with layers of Styrodur and clay, and topped by a four-meter high mound of Earth. Scientists have to pass through a twenty-meter tunnel with five cold storage doors and a lock to get to the laser. Under these conditions, the researchers have succeeded in corroborating the Chandler and annual wobble measurements based on the data captured by radio telescopes. They now aim to make the apparatus more accurate, enabling them to determine changes in Earth's rotational axis over a single day. The scientists also plan to make the ring laser capable of continuous operation so that it can run for a period of years without any deviations. "In simple terms," concludes Schreiber, "in future, we want to be able to just pop down into the basement and find out how fast the Earth is accurately turning right now." http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/12/111222103114.htm
  12. Interesting - I've listened to some of his interviews which are up on YouTube (except for the times when they have been removed) - and I believe he is being genuine about his experience this last March. This is his first ever radio interview: Ashwin Farinacci Radio Interview [March, 2012 - The Out There Hour Global Radio Show] I find this case most interesting simply because I am aware of several other contactees who have told me, off the record, of pretty much the same thing. ie contact with aliens who look just like us, who claim they are the Elohim from our past, who claim they are related to our bloodlines, and who claim they are coming back to live here with us - like it or not. Not only are there many individual contactee cases like this, but the whole cult known as the Raelians - also believe this. Rael, a former racing car driver, was a contactee by beings who said exactly the same as this latest guy. Rael was told that Jerusalem was going to be their headquarters or something, and that they would establish a world government with a world army. Rael also said we are a type of 'experiment' of the Elohim, that needs some 'attention'. He paints a very rosy picture of a utopian Earth future with them (after some adjustments of course). My gut instinct says there is a lot more than just one race of beings coming here in the near future. It will be interesting to see how we all get along with each other. LOL
  13. Intro to Synthetic Biology (See video of lecture below) Professor Jamie Davies walks an audience through the coming synthetic biology revolution. Comparing it to the personal computer revolution of the 70's and 80's, Professor Davies explains the lessons learned and how they can be applied to developing an open and constructive use of synthetic biology. What is synthetic biology (video)? It is the next step in genetic engineering - not simply copying and pasting genetic code from one life form to another, but creating entirely new genetic sequences, and thus entirely new life forms. Already, competitions like MIT's iGEM, pit universities and even high schools against one another as they develop new forms of synthetic biology using "biobricks" -open source, standardized components that can be interchanged in the designing of a synthetic life form just as engineers use standardized parts to construct machines and buildings today. Examples of life forms created include bacteria that change color in the presence of toxins in the environment, and yeasts that are transformed into microscopic factories producing medicine. The implications go further still - with the ability to read a human genome and understand, and as synthetic biology matures, it may be possible in the future to read one's genetic code, correct the errors that accumulate over time, and create repaired code that is reintroduced into the body via gene therapy. This would mitigate degenerative conditions stemming from aging, and all the diseases such deterioration invites, including cancers. Professor Davies most important talking point however, centers on the DIYbio movement and how regular people are actively participating in this revolution - and how such participation is essential in keeping this technology free and available to all. He points out local DIYbio groups springing up around the world and how amateurs and professionals alike are teaming up to advance this new field of study. He surmises that the great interest in synthetic biology is the ability to actually build things (life forms in this case). 14. Been trying to get more info about this guy for years. He is one of those guys you always hope is wrong, but deep down you 'feel' he is right. Was at GLooP today and spotted another thread on him and Hercolubus. transcript- June 20th 2013 Mysteries and Enigmas "Carlos Munoz Ferrada, astronomer, scientist and seismologist. For more than half a century he has amazed the world with his astronomical and geophysical predictions. One of his most astounding predictions was published in the newspaper "El Sur" from Concepcion, of Thursday, January 19th, 1939. That day, he predicted that on January 24 of that year, at 7:10 pm, an earthquake would devastate Chile, but no one believed. Indeed, with only four hours apart, his prediction was fulfilled. At 11:29 pm, for 18 seconds Chile shook. A major earthquake destroyed five provinces in southern Chile, killing 40,000 people. The people were terrorized and everything was destroyed. In the minds of those who survived there was the memory of the man who had announced it a few days before. The predictions of Munoz Ferrada continued to confirm as time went by. A series of earthquakes between May 21 and 25, 1960, the powerful tsunami that reached Alaska, the great earthquake of 1965 in Ligua and the earthquake in 1985 in Valaparaiso, Chile, are some of his correct predictions that modern scientists haven't been able to explain yet. With his dynamic geo science, this genius scientist has surpassed all laws of modern astronomy. Through his calculations, not only predicted numerous earthquakes, geo thermal explosions and climate changes in all parts of the world. He also discovered new comets and planets, deciphering their trajectories, mass, brightness, color, sidereal coordinates and orbital motions with amazing accuracy, before being seen by the large telescopes in the world. This generated an astonishment in the world, leading to the Royal Astronomical Society of London to reshape its policy, stating that "due the unusual case of Mr Munoz Ferrada, all new comet would take the name of the one who first calculated and not from the one who discovered it by chance with a telescope." Munoz Ferrada was also the first to give knowledge about the trajectory and disturbances the famous Halley comet would go through in its passage through the solar system. He indicated that at the last second the comet would alter the speed and go closer to the Sun. Indeed, on February 12, 1996, that really happened. The bright comet got ahead 36 hours in its orbital and spent more time near the Sun to 85 million kilometers. After 59 years of research, this great scientist shudders again the foundations of modern astronomy, and in his 90 years old, he breaks his silence to reveal the trajectory and the terrible consequences that, very soon, Hercolubus, the comet planet, as he calls it, will have on our world. Interviewer: "It is very interesting that you did a study and traced with calculations and all the orbit of this comet planet... That you say it's a comet-planet because its movement is not a normal thing." Carlos Ferrada: "No. - That it has different speeds. - It's a comet planet because it has an elliptical orbit like a comet. And because it has great mass as a planet. And that's why I call it comet-planet. And it is a planet with tail." Narration- Munoz Ferrada explains that this great star approaching, loaded with cosmic energy, does not respect the established laws of celestial mechanics, it has an elliptical orbit and travels between our Sun and a black sun that is 32 billion kilometers away. Interviewer: "So here in this chart you show us that on this side is the Earth, our Earth's orbit around the Sun." Carlos Ferrada: "Yes sir." Interviewer: "And he enters the orbit here, passing very close to our Earth." Carlos Ferrada: "14 million kilometers away." Interviewer: "14 million kilometers. So here, in your chart, you show us the dead star, the dead sun." Carlos Ferrada: "This one" Interviewer: "And around this dead sun, it rotates." Carlos Ferrada: "Here, at 92 kilometers per second." Interviewer: "So in addition to these 92 kilometers per second, it has another speed which is more terrifying, isn't it?" Carlos Ferrada: "It has 3 speeds!" Narration- Munoz Ferrada confirms that this planet travels at 3 speeds: One around the black sun at 92 km/s. Another, close to our Sun, at 76 km/s and a third full speed. Carlos Ferrada: "The full speed, it keeps for half the orbit, at 300 km/s. That is, one thousandth of the speed of light." Interviewer: "It is very fast." Narration- Soon, events will take place that will allow Hercolubus to be seen with the naked eye. Carlos Ferrada: "This body will not go unnoticed, everyone will see." Interviewer: "There will be a lot of confusion." Carlos Ferrada: "More than confusion." Interviewer: "And they will give many interpretations about it." Carlos Farrada: "Many." Narration- Astronomers will say that what we will see is Mars or any other planet. But in reality, is Hercolubus. Interviewer: "What consequences will it bring to our planet?" Carlos Ferrada: "The most terrifying. And then... everyone holds up as they can..." Narration- Munoz Ferrada predicts three major earthquakes... Carlos Ferrada: :"I've calculated 3 triangulated spots of high approached seismicity: the northern Mediterranean coast, between France and Spain. The Southern Pacific coast, from Valparaiso to Arequipa. And Java, Sumatra and Borneo. 3 spots. These spots will go through earthquakes of volcanic nature." Narration- Hercolubus will cause devastating earthquakes and a great transformation. Carlos Ferrada: "The large gravitational field that brings this new star, which hasn't penetrated for 13,000, and that 13,000 years ago were the times of the lost Atlantis, has resonance and effects that produce reflections and weaknesses... will cause a big change." Interviewer: "This big change ... It is since 1940, isn't it? That you have studied this star. Here are 59 years of documentation ... and that major change: is it a human change? And besides, the Earth ,,, because it indicates a pole shift." Carlos Ferrada: "It geophysical and human." Interviewer: "And it is said that there will be a change of the Earth's magnetic poles." Carlos Ferrada: "There are so many things, which is unfortunate... mankind is not ready. The change comes. The destruction comes. And above all, will affect humanity in its existence, in its productions and in its own subsistence."
  15. I am starting this thread after receiving yet another independent titbit from an informed source, regarding the agenda to share this planet with other lifeforms (ETs or aliens as most of us would term them). I am already of the conviction that several of the visiting lifeforms have had secret bases and habitation zones, for many many years. Emphasis on secret. But this thread is about the rumours that large parts of the continent of Africa have been designated as a habitation zone for aliens, or at best a co-habitation zone for aliens and humans. Personally I doubt the latter, which implies that the existing inhabitants are either going to be killed off, displaced and moved on, or conquered and eaten - depending on who is moving in, and how friendly they are. I first heard this info about 5 years ago, and only those with a connection into the realms of people who are in the real UFO loop, have echoed this rumour, often with corroborating info. We have seen lots of Chinese resource-driven geopolitical stuff in Africa, and we have seen the West respond with AFRICOM units (NB: run from GERMANY) running all over the place. We have seen viral christian appeals to get rid of evil black warlords who hurt children, and now we see France going crazy in the Central African Republic. All of which provide excellent cover stories for other activity. Today I note that the USA is sending troops and stuff to respond to what is going on in South Sudan. Geography: My info suggests that the incoming residents have already cut this deal with whoever is in charge down here, and it is still yet to filter down to anyone not in the real UFO loop. I get the distinct impression, that it is the hot steamy equatorial belt region that is desired by the visitors, and not the arid sub-Saharan regions to the north, and not the South African region. Yes, I am aware that a movie was made which carried this idea as its central thesis. Interesting isn't it. Any leaks or rumours are going to be squashed by the very mention of that movie - meaning no credibility traction outside of people like you lot here at CHANI. I do NOT get the impression that this is a hostile species, and I also get the impression that these are the first of several species who are going to co-inhabit this planet in an open manner with mankind. The purpose of this thread, is provide a place for any DOTS, ie suspicious or unusual activities and rumours about what is going on in that part of Africa. In particular I am interested in rumours of disappearing groups of people, ie whole families or small villages that disappear in zones where there is no conflict. peace to you all Duncan

    Flat as a pancake (Earth)

I have not found one piece of info or evidence that convinces me that the Earth is flat. All I see is people who do not have a good grasp of science - being tricked into believing stuff they refuse to investigate properly. 99% of the flat earth stuff I get - is prefaced by a variation of - "now I am not a science person, but ..." To learn that because 'we cannot feel' the rotational speed of the Earth it is part of the pool of 'evidence' - suggests not just ignorance, but laziness and no desire to actually learn or understand anything. This is not 'questioning' reality - this is spreading ignorance and encouraging laziness.

1954 -1955 Deal For Control Of Humanity

maybe nobody has non distorted clear information. If you are human, you will distort information based on your beliefs and perceptions. I'm sure ETs do the same, but with less emotional components attached. Cooper got his info from other sources - some of whom were reliable, some who weren't. My point is that Cooper didn't care and didn't even believe what he was ranting - he was just being opportunistic and feeding the hungry minds with what he thought they WANTED to hear. I have strong feelings on the matter of 'humans' being invaded or taken over or enslaved by some incoming or existing ET race. I believe that we are ALREADY the created, upgraded, maintained, protected and PROPERTY of non-human creators - in terms of the PHYSICAL body/biosuit. I also believe that 'we' are really immortal beings of spirit who experience consciousness via the USE of the human body suits in which we reside. As I've said before, we are 'blanked' upon entry into the suit, and by using/occupying/inhabiting the body/suit, we emit LOOSH as a natural byproduct of every experience and thought and emotion. This LOOSH is what our biosuit bodies were created for in the first place. They have been upgraded, with permission, several times, mostly ending up with us emitting more loosh than before. We are the prized farm animals to our creators. They appointed overseers and managers to ensure the ongoing production of Loosh from their self-perpetuating bio-factory. We would call these guys ETs. Our original forms were hailed with great excitement, and 'we' were transplanted across the space-time continuums a very long long time ago. I believe Earth WAS the first petrie dish where this human loosh producing form first came from. The upgrades inserted many more ET genetic frequencies into our existing template - meaning we are even more valuable to even more races. We are compatible to a vast number of 'ET' races in terms of genetics. So when any human-ET compatable civilisations get 'stuck' or in a mess, they can always come back to some human time and put our genetic frequency into their genetic frequency (as a race/species). Blue_ET's case is just one such example of this happening, but there are many others. There is NO plan to invade and enslave, save those being pushed into the ufo-conspiracy world by the military industrial intelligence complex - and they ONLY want people believing in 'goodies' and 'baddies' so that we are controllable in a time of crisis. I'm talking about them playing the 'fear card' as described by insiders like Dr Carol Rosin and others. Cooper served the elite by spreading fear about ETs working with the govt - simple as that. Obviously ETs do interact with some govts, but whether fear is the best reaction is doubtful. Do people now see why 'disclosure' is so complicated to the powers that be? Our self-identity as a species is the issue of concern, not whether we believe we are alone or not. It would like being told you were adopted, but just when you were 'secure' in yourself about everything. Sigh, I miss Acolyte so much.

Bill Cooper, aka Milton William Cooper - turned out to be a total fraud and fake. We found ZERO evidence of ANY of his intel - most of which he stole from other researchers anyway. After the UFO and Conspiracy movement realised that he was nothing but a drunken liar who changed his story at almost every conference, Cooper turned to the Christian movement and announced he was born again. Plus he had 'evidence' that UFOs were all to do with Satan - blah blah blah - the christians loved it - until they also realised that Cooper was nothing but a liar and a fraud. Cooper's drunken death threats are still remembered by us researchers from back then. Don Ecker has one of them up on the net somewhere. After everyone ditched him, he took his token Asian wife into seclusion and regularly beat her up when drunk. It was around this time that he started his internet radio programs. He was simply a good con-man and a passionate orator. If you questioned ANY of his 'facts' or sources, you would be denounced as a CIA agent at his next lecture or radio show. Anyone here who has Cooper pegged as some sort of hero - needs a wake-up call and a reality check.

    NDEs, OBEs and 'out there'

Am going to dig up some experiences and post them here. If there is an existing thread, please advise. In case anyone is bored and wants a head start, I'll be looking at Anita Moorjani Eben Alexander Dannion Brinkley Robert Monroe Bruce Moen I found the following on a couple of places around the net, including ATS. It is very typical of the 'perspective' that is achieved 'out there', either during Near Death Experiences (NDEs), Out-Of-Body Experiences (OOBEs)/Astral 'travel', and also what many DMT 'trippers' report. ---------------------------- “The Egg” by Andy Weir You were on your way home when you died. It was a car accident. Nothing particularly remarkable, but fatal nonetheless. You left behind a wife and two children. It was a painless death. The EMTs tried their best to save you, but to no avail. Your body was so utterly shattered you were better off, trust me. And that’s when you met me. “What… what happened?” You asked. “Where am I?” “You died,” I said, matter-of-factly. No point in mincing words. “There was a… a truck and it was skidding…” “Yup,” I said. “I… I died?” “Yup. But don’t feel bad about it. Everyone dies,” I said. You looked around. There was nothingness. Just you and me. “What is this place?” You asked. “Is this the afterlife?” “More or less,” I said. “Are you god?” You asked. “Yup,” I replied. “I’m God.” “My kids… my wife,” you said. “What about them?” “Will they be all right?” “That’s what I like to see,” I said. “You just died and your main concern is for your family. That’s good stuff right there.” You looked at me with fascination. To you, I didn’t look like God. I just looked like some man. Or possibly a woman. Some vague authority figure, maybe. More of a grammar school teacher than the almighty. “Don’t worry,” I said. “They’ll be fine. Your kids will remember you as perfect in every way. They didn’t have time to grow contempt for you. Your wife will cry on the outside, but will be secretly relieved. To be fair, your marriage was falling apart. If it’s any consolation, she’ll feel very guilty for feeling relieved.” “Oh,” you said. “So what happens now? Do I go to heaven or hell or something?” “Neither,” I said. “You’ll be reincarnated.” “Ah,” you said. “So the Hindus were right,” “All religions are right in their own way,” I said. “Walk with me.” You followed along as we strode through the void. “Where are we going?” “Nowhere in particular,” I said. “It’s just nice to walk while we talk.” “So what’s the point, then?” You asked. “When I get reborn, I’ll just be a blank slate, right? A baby. So all my experiences and everything I did in this life won’t matter.” “Not so!” I said. “You have within you all the knowledge and experiences of all your past lives. You just don’t remember them right now.” I stopped walking and took you by the shoulders. “Your soul is more magnificent, beautiful, and gigantic than you can possibly imagine. A human mind can only contain a tiny fraction of what you are. It’s like sticking your finger in a glass of water to see if it’s hot or cold. You put a tiny part of yourself into the vessel, and when you bring it back out, you’ve gained all the experiences it had. “You’ve been in a human for the last 48 years, so you haven’t stretched out yet and felt the rest of your immense consciousness. If we hung out here for long enough, you’d start remembering everything. But there’s no point to doing that between each life.” “How many times have I been reincarnated, then?” “Oh lots. Lots and lots. An in to lots of different lives.” I said. “This time around, you’ll be a Chinese peasant girl in 540 AD.” “Wait, what?” You stammered. “You’re sending me back in time?” “Well, I guess technically. Time, as you know it, only exists in your universe. Things are different where I come from.” “Where you come from?” You said. “Oh sure,” I explained “I come from somewhere. Somewhere else. And there are others like me. I know you’ll want to know what it’s like there, but honestly you wouldn’t understand.” “Oh,” you said, a little let down. “But wait. If I get reincarnated to other places in time, I could have interacted with myself at some point.” “Sure. Happens all the time. And with both lives only aware of their own lifespan you don’t even know it’s happening.” “So what’s the point of it all?” “Seriously?” I asked. “Seriously? You’re asking me for the meaning of life? Isn’t that a little stereotypical?” “Well it’s a reasonable question,” you persisted. I looked you in the eye. “The meaning of life, the reason I made this whole universe, is for you to mature.” “You mean mankind? You want us to mature?” “No, just you. I made this whole universe for you. With each new life you grow and mature and become a larger and greater intellect.” “Just me? What about everyone else?” “There is no one else,” I said. “In this universe, there’s just you and me.” You stared blankly at me. “But all the people on earth…” “All you. Different incarnations of you.” “Wait. I’m everyone!?” “Now you’re getting it,” I said, with a congratulatory slap on the back. “I’m every human being who ever lived?” “Or who will ever live, yes.” “I’m Abraham Lincoln?” “And you’re John Wilkes Booth, too,” I added. “I’m Hitler?” You said, appalled. “And you’re the millions he killed.” “I’m Jesus?” “And you’re everyone who followed him.” You fell silent. “Every time you victimized someone,” I said, “you were victimizing yourself. Every act of kindness you’ve done, you’ve done to yourself. Every happy and sad moment ever experienced by any human was, or will be, experienced by you.” You thought for a long time. “Why?” You asked me. “Why do all this?” “Because someday, you will become like me. Because that’s what you are. You’re one of my kind. You’re my child.” “Whoa,” you said, incredulous. “You mean I’m a god?” “No. Not yet. You’re a fetus. You’re still growing. Once you’ve lived every human life throughout all time, you will have grown enough to be born.” “So the whole universe,” you said, “it’s just…” “An egg.” I answered. “Now it’s time for you to move on to your next life.” And I sent you on your way.

It was all bogus info at that site, (haarpstatusnetwork.com) and it relied on people being aware of the rumours about HAARP, but ignorant of any real facts. At no time did it ever reveal whether the IRI at Gakona was active or not. It was a freak show, a con job, and it was aimed at gullible noobs. Thankfully the 'haarpstatusnetwork project' was shut down - but not before revealing how much of the 'conspiracy' movement are just lazy and ignorant.
  22. Biological Transistor Enables Computing Within Living Cells A team of Stanford University bioengineers has taken computing beyond mechanics and electronics into the living realm of biology. In a paper to be published March 28 in Science, the team details a biological transistor made from genetic material -- DNA and RNA -- in place of gears or electrons. The team calls its biological transistor the "transcriptor." "Transcriptors are the key component behind amplifying genetic logic -- akin to the transistor and electronics," said Jerome Bonnet, PhD, a postdoctoral scholar in bioengineering and the paper's lead author. The creation of the transcriptor allows engineers to compute inside living cells to record, for instance, when cells have been exposed to certain external stimuli or environmental factors, or even to turn on and off cell reproduction as needed. "Biological computers can be used to study and reprogram living systems, monitor environments and improve cellular therapeutics," said Drew Endy, PhD, assistant professor of bioengineering and the paper's senior author. In electronics, a transistor controls the flow of electrons along a circuit. Similarly, in biologics, a transcriptor controls the flow of a specific protein, RNA polymerase, as it travels along a strand of DNA. "We have repurposed a group of natural proteins, called integrases, to realize digital control over the flow of RNA polymerase along DNA, which in turn allowed us to engineer amplifying genetic logic," said Endy. [emphasis added] Using transcriptors, the team has created what are known in electrical engineering as logic gates that can derive true-false answers to virtually any biochemical question that might be posed within a cell. <snip> Mar. 28, 2013 — http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2013/03/130328142400.htm
  23. I think the flat earth theory is just that. A theory. And I don't agree that what you cite as 'evidence' proves the Earth is flat either. I think it is far more important to realise that the biblical narrative of Jesus Christ is a total pile of fabricated crap, than it is to believe the Earth is flat, and not a spheroid.

  25. [NB: NOT an April Fool's Day joke] Abstract of the Research Paper follows: (Source: http://arxiv.org/abs/1303.6739) The "Wow! signal" of the terrestrial genetic code Vladimir I. shCherbak, Maxim A. Makukov (Submitted on 27 Mar 2013) It has been repeatedly proposed to expand the scope for SETI, and one of the suggested alternatives to radio is the biological media. Genomic DNA is already used on Earth to store non-biological information. Though smaller in capacity, but stronger in noise immunity is the genetic code. The code is a flexible mapping between codons and amino acids, and this flexibility allows modifying the code artificially. But once fixed, the code might stay unchanged over cosmological timescales. Thus, it represents a reliable storage for an intelligent signature, if that conforms to biological and thermodynamic requirements. As the actual scenario for the origin of terrestrial life is far from being settled, the proposal that it might have been seeded intentionally cannot be ruled out. A statistically strong signal in the genetic code is then a testable consequence of such scenario. Here we show that the terrestrial code displays a thorough precision orderliness matching the criteria to be considered an informational signal. Simple arrangements of the code reveal an ensemble of arithmetical and ideographical patterns of the same symbolic language. Accurate and systematic, these underlying patterns appear as a product of precision logic and nontrivial computing rather than of stochastic processes. The patterns are profound to the extent that the code mapping itself is uniquely deduced from their algebraic representation. The signal displays readily recognizable hallmarks of artificiality. Besides, extraction of the signal involves logically straightforward but abstract operations, making the patterns essentially irreducible to any natural origin. Plausible way of embedding the signal into the code and possible interpretation of its content are discussed. Overall, while the code is nearly optimized biologically, its limited capacity is used extremely efficiently to store non-biological information. Comments: 15 pages, 14 figures, accepted for publication in Icarus Subjects: Other Quantitative Biology (q-bio.OT) DOI: 10.1016/j.icarus.2013.02.017 Cite as: arXiv:1303.6739 [q-bio.OT] ------- Article expanding on implications etc: Is An Alien Message Embedded In Our Genetic Code? Apr 1, 2013 by Ray Villard The answer to whether or not we are alone in the universe could be right under our nose, or, more literally, inside every cell in our body. Could our genes have an intelligently designed “manufacturer’s stamp” inside them, written eons ago elsewhere in our galaxy? Such a “designer label” would be an indelible stamp of a master extraterrestrial civilization that preceded us by many millions or billions of years. As their ultimate legacy, they recast the Milky Way in their own biological image. Vladimir I. shCherbak of al-Farabi Kazakh National University of Kazakhstan, and Maxim A. Makukov of the Fesenkov Astrophysical Institute, hypothesize that an intelligent signal embedded in our genetic code would be a mathematical and semantic message that cannot be accounted for by Darwinian evolution. They call it “biological SETI.” What’s more, they argue that the scheme has much greater longevity and chance of detecting E.T. than a transient extraterrestrial radio transmission. Writing in the journal Icarus, they assert: “Once fixed, the code might stay unchanged over cosmological timescales; in fact, it is the most durable construct known. Therefore it represents an exceptionally reliable storage for an intelligent signature. Once the genome is appropriately rewritten the new code with a signature will stay frozen in the cell and its progeny, which might then be delivered through space and time.” To pass the designer label test, any patterns in the genetic code must be highly statistically significant and possess intelligent-like features that are inconsistent with any natural know process, say the authors. They go on to argue that their detailed analysis that the human genome (map here) displays a thorough precision-type orderliness in the mapping between DNA’s nucleotides and amino acids. “Simple arrangements of the code reveal an ensemble of arithmetical and ideographical patterns of symbolic language.” They say this includes the use of decimal notation, logical transformations, and the use of the abstract symbol of zero. “Accurate and systematic, these underlying patterns appear as a product of precision logic and nontrivial computing,” they assert. ANALYSIS: Are We Living in a Hologram? This interpretation leads them to a farfetched conclusion: that the genetic code, “appears that it was invented outside the solar system already several billions years ago.” This statement endorses the idea of panspermia, the hypothesis that Earth was seeded with interstellar life. It’s certainly a novel and bold approach to galaxy conquest if we imagine this was a deliberate Johnny Appleseed endeavor by super-beings. However, there are other possibilities too. I’ve previously written about the far-out notion that the universe we observe was built just for us and exists inside a computer program (with apologies to The Matrix film trilogy). Therefore the idea that some programmer somewhere wrote the genetic code for life in their model universe is consistent with the authors’ suggestions. Biological SETI inevitably smacks head-on into an idea that is completely antithetical to science: the concept of intelligent design (ID). The proposition of ID is that our biology is so complex it must have been engineered by a higher power. ANALYSIS: Space Algae Invasion? Probably Not To date, ID has been nothing more than biblical creationism in sheep’s clothing. Christian fundamentalists use it to push the teaching of creationism in schools as an alternative to “secular” evolution. (Which, by the way, is now being battled in school systems in four states.) Can the claim of an alien signature in our genetic code be any more believable, or provable than biblical ID? We know so little about the origin of life on Earth it seems presumptive to identify genetic structure that supposedly defies a natural explanation. Even the discovery of life elsewhere in the solar system would not provide an independent test of this idea. Panspermia could have naturally occurred among the planets and moons. And, even if the genetic code is ultimately considered the handprint of an extraterrestrial grand designer, then who designed the designer? http://news.discovery.com/space/alien-life-exoplanets/could-an-alien-message-be-embedded-in-our-genetic-code-130401.htm
