Novorussia -  Surrender or victory?

by Yuri Baranchik

So, what happened in Minsk? Surrender or victory? This is the kind of argument that not only the average citizen of our immense territory is currently having, but unfortunately, also a significant part of the expert community. There is no simple answer to this question without considering what had happened a week earlier in Brussels at the EU summit and at the NATO summit on the 4th and 5th of September in Newport, Wales.

Russia won a political victory in Brussels: the EU (Germany and the countries of the Old Europe) refused to impose new sanctions against Russia under pressure from the United States and its most loyal vassal states (Britain, Poland, the Baltic States and Ukraine). Thus, the EU chose not to escalate the conflict with Russia on the eve of winter. Furthermore, the EU itself has advised a way out of the situation on the South Stream and remove it from the sanctions of the Third Energy Package: to apply the same rules that apply to offshore projects of the EU; for example in Bulgaria, to allow Gazprom to buy them and connect them to the "South Stream".

Despite the many hints and threats from the USA’s poodles on the eve of the summit of NATO member countries (as we have discussed in detail in the article "The fate of Novorossia: the US raising the stakes": a) a threat of deployment of a European missile defense system against Russia; b) establishing five new NATO bases in Poland, Romania and the Baltic States; c) breaching the terms of the Founding Act "Russia - NATO"), the summit only concluded with an official statement, which reflects the opinion of the North Atlantic Alliance on the current events on the territory of the disintegrating Ukraine.

As expected, NATO condemned the Russian military invasion of the Ukraine; urged Russia to withdraw its military from Ukraine; to cease its assistance to the militias and intervening in the situation in Ukraine under any pretext. There was no discussion of anything else - not about the violation of the terms of the Founding "Russia - NATO" Act, the deployment of the European missile defense, or of NATO bases in the five above-mentioned countries. According to Rasmussen, he took into consideration (it can’t be said any better) the desire of the Poles, Balts and Romanians to place NATO "transit points" on their territories.

What does this tell us? The EU, despite all of the threats and cries of the U.S. and their accommodating "tough-talking" poodles, is not ready to go beyond the current level of confrontation with Russia. Germany, the countries of not only the Old Europe (Greece, Italy) but also the New Europe (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary) have opposed the escalating level of anti-Russian rhetoric, the development of new sanctions, and especially, the inclusion of mechanisms and instruments of pressure by NATO.

Furthermore, the recent summits in Brussels and Newport showed that Europe wants to end the current tense relationship with Russia as quickly as possible and return to the previous level of cooperation, despite, let me stress, the current events in Ukraine. In fact, Europe agrees with the return to Russia of her historical territories (Crimea and those regions of Ukraine which had been given to her by the Bolsheviks) in exchange for an uninterrupted supply of gas and the continuation of mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation.

The reason for this is that Europe is not happy with the new format of Ukraine's statehood, which was established there after the February revolution. Therefore, this dangerous regime, which entails instability, has to end. In the way it was hinted at the talks in Minsk on the eve of winter.

Therefore, the achievement of the ceasefire agreement between the junta and the representatives of Novorossia in Minsk is a major victory for Russia, because it didn’t allow the United States to sever relations between Russia and Europe and gave Europe the necessary arguments for the rejection and blocking both in Brussels and in Newport, of the decisions that the US was prepared to launch against Russia. It is a big joint victory for Russia and the EU today.

Now let's go back to the long-suffering Novorossiya. Many, even such distinguished experts as Boris Rozhin, consider what has happened as a sell-out of Novorossia. Let's look at this in more detail.

First, apparently, Poroshenko and the junta are not going to abide by the terms of the truce – the shelling of Donetsk, Lugansk, and Gorlovka and the fighting in the district of Mariupol by the junta’s troops continue. Therefore, the hands of the resistance forces are no longer tied.

Very interesting article by Willy Wimmer  on  VT. Wimmer was a Mitglied des Bundestages (Member of Parlament) for CDU (Christian Democratic Union, Merkel's Party) which makes his viewpoint even more interesting. Jim Dean introduction to Wimmer's article is worth the read too, imho.     From Hun to Hun … by  Willy Wimmer,   Germany -  First published September 7,  2014  – (translated version)

It is strange enough. In the only TV program that is not filled from morning to evening with cooking classes, crime scene detectives or quota discussions, consideration is given to the German-being. “Arte” (French/German) plays British fighting songs against everything German from the period of World War II. But for the protection of the present Germans, it shamefully translates lines in which affront is made against the “Huns”, with lines against the “Germans”.

We are not so sensitive, because the Anglo-Saxons on the island are our cousins, because otherwise one can hardly explain why the German-stationed British Global warriors enjoy the mentality of a moderate “home advantage”. “From Hun Hun” we do really well together, even if you cannot see David Cameron in front of your eyes any longer. The only one who should listen well to the English fight songs against us, is a certain President Putin in the Kremlin.

British Propaganda can really finish you off, as we Germans had to notice, since our fade-away Kaiser Wilhelm, and recent examples like Milošević, Saddam Hussein and Gaddafi make it abundantly clear. If you want to understand why people are incited against each other, Anglo-Saxon propaganda must be taken at face value.

Recently, Hillary Clinton once again demonstrated this. American government officials are indeed standing up to their knees in blood for a long time, but have a masterful ability to bring others to The Hague. They obviously need to light one conflict after another, and then bring it to a victorious end for them, so as not to end up there themselves.

Hillary paying her dues, to you know who

Let’s see what songs are hummed in London after the Scottish independence vote. Currently, London wants to make people believe that every vote in favor of Scottish independence would be a surprise. Nothing could be more false than this assertion.

As German diplomats credibly assure, since the mid-1990s, in all conflicts in which the United Kingdom has been habitually involved in the continent, British negotiators were only interested in one thing… What impact do negotiations have on continental issues on the complicated situation in the British Isles?

In a country, where even the BBC is working in the foreign policy interests of the country, with exorbitant amounts of money from the British government budget, one writes any form of “intelligence” in large size, quite different from the “Hun-cousins” from the continent.

David Cameron wants to influence the vote of Scottish voters at the last moment for the benefit of the City of London. Or should we evaluate his fulminantly presented Reflections on a global NATO Response Force at the NATO Summit differently? To bring the Bundeswehr on the Korean peninsula or into the Indonesian province of New Guinea, up to 3,500 British soldiers shall belong to this task force.

Russia to provide military, other assistance to Iraq, Syria in combating terrorism

September 15, 2014

No double standards in the fight against terrorists are acceptable, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov

"PARIS, September 15. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia will provide military and other assistance to Iraq and Syria in the fight against terrorism, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on the sidelines of an international conference on Iraq in Paris on Monday.

“We have spoken of our contribution to supporting the Iraqi government in their fight against terrorists, ensuring security of their state. In a similar way we provide military and other kind of assistance to Syria that is also facing a serious terrorist threat, maybe to a lesser degree. We also provide assistance to our partners in Egypt, Lebanon, Yemen, Jordan. So we have something to contribute to the common efforts,” Lavrov said.

No double standards in the fight against terrorists are acceptable, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on the sidelines of an international conference on Iraq in the French capital on Monday."

US rejects military cooperation with Iran in Iraq, open to talks

September 15, 2014

"Paris (AFP) - US Secretary of State John Kerry on Monday ruled out military cooperation with Iran but said Washington remained open to talks with Tehran about the threat posed by Islamic State militants.

"We will not be coordinating with Iran" on military action, "but as I said, we are open to have a conversation," Kerry told reporters in Paris after an international conference on Iraq.

"On Syria strikes, we are not going to coordinate with the Syrians, we have made that very, very clear, but there are all kinds of ways of communicating to avoid mistakes or disaster," he added.

US President Barack Obama has outlined a strategy to combat the Islamic State extremists, including air strikes in Syria and expanded operations in Iraq, where US aircraft have carried out more than 160 strikes since early August."

AP sources: First US strike in expanded Iraq fight

September 15, 2014

Lolita C. Baldor

"WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. officials say the United States took the first step in the planned expanded fight against Islamic State militants Monday, going to the aid of Iraqi security forces south of Baghdad who were being attacked by enemy fighters.

The officials say Iraqi forces requested assistance when they came under fire from militants. Officials say the strike represents the newly broadened mission authorized by President Barack Obama to go on the offensive against the Islamic State group wherever it is.

Previous U.S. airstrikes in Iraq were conducted to protect U.S. interests and personnel, assist Iraqi refugees and secure critical infrastructure. Monday's strike was in direct support of Iraqi forces fighting  the militants."

UN withdraws many peacekeepers from Golan Heights

September 15, 2014

"UNITED NATIONS (AP) — The United Nations said Monday it has withdrawn its peacekeepers from many positions on the Golan Heights because of escalating fighting in the war between Syrian government forces and opposition fighters.

The situation has deteriorated severely over the last few days and advances by armed groups posed "a direct threat to the safety and security of the U.N. peacekeepers" along the Syrian side of the border and in Camp Faouar where many troops are based, U.N. spokesman Stephane Dujarric said. He said all troops in those areas have been relocated to the Israeli side of the border.

The U.N. decision follows the two-week abduction of 45 Fijian peacekeepers, who were released last week. They had been captured on the Syrian-controlled side of the Golan Heights by fighters from the al-Qaida-linked Nusra Front."

Ukraine President's Days Numbered After Broad Accusations Of "Betraying National Interests"

September 15, 2014

Tyler Durden

"As we summarized late on Friday, while Europe has been banging the populist drums over ever-escalating Russian sanctions, it quietly and without much fanfare folded in the one place where Russia could have been truly hurt, the Free Trade (DFCTA) agreement between Ukraine and the EU. But while Europe would have loved for nobody to notice, some did, and not just on these pages: far more importantly, so did the citizens of Ukraine where as the WSJ reports, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko faces rising criticism for his decision to delay implementation of part of a European Union deal to avoid threatened Russian retaliation.

And this is why neither side can afford to blink, because the moment one side folds, its domestic support collapses. And blinking is precisely what Ukraine just did and with that it set in motion the events that will likely terminate prematurely the brief, irrelevant presidency of Ukraine's "Chocolate Baron" Poroshenko."

Spot report by the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMM),

15 September 2014: Monitoring to the east of Donetsk, SMM patrol vehicles hit by fire

"On 14 September the SMM monitored the situation and adherence to Minsk Protocol provisions in the areas east of Donetsk city. These areas have not been regularly patrolled by the SMM since the signing of the Protocol; breaches of the Protocol in these areas have been reported to the SMM.  The SMM covered the areas of the H21 road after Shakhtarsk (60 km to the east of Donetsk), Torez (69 km east of Donetsk) and the route northwards towards Debaltseve (70 km north-east of Donetsk), a strategic area which had been subject to intense fighting prior to the signing of the Protocol. The SMM also carried out an on-site assessment in the area of the MH17 crash site, upon request of the Dutch, Australian and Malaysian authorities. The patrol vehicles were damaged by artillery or mortar fire at 18:37. The team left the area in the remaining useable vehicle and returned to Donetsk city at 00:32 hrs today."

Nato members 'start arms deliveries to Ukraine'

September 14, 2014

"Nato countries have started delivering arms to Ukraine to help its soldiers fight pro-Russian separatists in the east, the defence minister says.

Valery Heletey did not give details of the weapons being delivered or name the countries involved.

A similar statement earlier was denied by five Nato members, including the US.

Ukraine's prime minister says Nato is the "only vehicle" to protect the country from Russia, which he and the West accuse of intervening in the east.

Moscow has denied sending troops to help pro-Russian rebels who have been engaged in heavy fighting with government forces in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions since April.

At least some 2,600 people have been killed in five months of conflict.

A fragile ceasefire has been in place since 5 September, despite recent outbreaks of violence around key flashpoints such as Donetsk airport."

‘Inmates running the asylum’: Kiev threatens to restart nuclear weapons program

September 15, 2014

"Kiev’s promise to restart its nuclear weapons program if it doesn't get enough support from the West is completely insane, be it real or just an empty threat, political commentator Daniel Patrick Welch told RT.

“If we cannot protect Ukraine today, if the world doesn’t help us, we will have to go back to the development of nuclear weapons, which will protect us from Russia,” Ukrainian Defense Minister Valery Geletey said in an interview with Ukrainian TV, also claiming that NATO members have already started supplying Kiev with conventional weapons.

Islamic State shoots down Syrian war plane: monitor group

September 16, 2014

"Islamic State fighters shot down a Syrian war plane using anti-aircraft guns on Tuesday, the first time the group has downed a military jet since declaring its cross-border caliphate in June, a group monitoring the civil war said.

The plane came down outside Islamic State's stronghold of Raqqa city, 400 km (250 miles) northeast of Damascus, during air strikes on territory controlled by the group, a resident said.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a monitoring group which gathers information from a network of activists on the ground, reported five air raids on Raqqa on Tuesday. Rami Abdulrahman, who runs the organization, cited sources close to Islamic State as saying the plane had been shot down."

US cools talk of combat role in Iraq

September 16, 2014

By Daniel De Luce and Jerome Cartillier

"Washington (AFP) - The White House and the US military scrambled to play down a suggestion by the nation's top officer that deploying ground forces in Iraq to fight Islamic State jihadists was an option.

General Martin Dempsey, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff and President Barack Obama's top military advisor, had said US military advisors could be sent into combat alongside Iraqi forces.

Dempsey said the US personnel could "provide close-combat advising," but the White House insisted the idea of US troops in battle was a "purely hypothetical scenario."

And in a day of mixed messages, Colonel Ed Thomas, a spokesman for the general, then tried to bring some clarity to the situation, saying in a rare statement that Dempsey "doesn't believe there is a military requirement for our advisors to accompany Iraqi forces into combat."

Police swoop on Sydney, Brisbane homes in terror raids

September 18, 2014

Paul Maley  Dan Box

"POLICE believe a group of Sydney men were planning to seize a random member of the public and behead their victim, while filming the attack, security sources say.

Details of the planned attack have emerged in the wake of the biggest anti-terrorism operation in Australia’s history, involving hundreds of police officers in co-ordinated raids across Sydney and Brisbane this morning.

Fifteen people have been arrested so far, although the operation is ongoing, with at least one man due in court today to face terrorism-related charges."

Former actor and ‘senior ISIL figure’ Mohammad Baryalei named as man behind alleged Sydney beheading plot

September 18, 2014

Mohammad Baryalei is believed to be ISIL's most senior Australian member. (ABC)

Sydney terror accused Omarjan Azari was allegedly working with Australia's most senior ISIL member and Underbelly actor Mohammad Baryalei to commit acts of terror, police have said.

A curved sword resembling a scimitar, emblazoned with Arabic script, was recovered from a house searched in this morning's police raids.

Azari faced Central Local Court today charged with serious terrorism-related offences.

9NEWS understands Azari is accused of plotting to abduct people off the streets and decapitate them in a manner similar to the recent ISIL beheadings of US and UK citizens in Syria.

Azari allegedly intended to wrap the bodies of victims in ISIL flags and upload video of the murders online.

The video would help fuel the ISIL terror campaign which has led to the formation of an international coalition to eliminate the group."

Iraq PM al-Abadi rules out US ground troops

September 18, 2014

"IRAQ’S new prime minister has ruled out stationing US ground troops in his country, chiding the international community for inaction in Syria and lamenting the “puzzling” exclusion of neighbouring Iran from the US-led coalition being assembled to fight the Islamic State.

Haider al-Abadi has been embraced by the West as a more inclusive leader who might heal the internal rifts that have dismembered Iraq. But his forthrightness in his first interview with international media suggests a man capable of parting ways on vision and holding his ground.

Mr Al-Abadi praised the US aerial campaign targeting the militants who have overrun much of northern and western Iraq and carved out a caliphate spanning the Syria-Iraq border, saying it has helped efforts to roll back the Sunni extremists.

But he stressed that he sees no need for the US or other nations to send troops into Iraq to help fight the Islamic State.

“Not only is it not necessary,” he said, “We don’t want them. We won’t allow them. Full stop.”

Instead, al-Abadi urged the international community to expand its campaign against the extremists in neighbouring Syria, noting that militants coming under pressure in Iraq are retreating back into Syria."

China plans nuclear submarines near US coast, miltary bases in South China Sea
September 19, 2014
Chinese Nuclear Sub
"The following is based on translations from Chinese media:
So far there has been no news about Chinese nuclear submarine cruising near the US. There has been official confirmation from China that a Chinese nuclear submarine operated in the Indian Ocean for a short period of time.
US nuclear submarine commander Benjamin Person (transliteration from Chinese) recently laughed at China, saying that Chinese nuclear submarines had never been active near the United States. He is happy that his nuclear submarine has been active in the seas near China for a long time.
This qianzhan.com article comments on Person’s words, saying that China obviously lags behind the US, but it has been making great efforts to catch up. China has established a coastal anti-submarine network and improved and upgraded the equipment of its anti-submarine aircraft and warships.
Such efforts will soon effectively deter the activities of US nuclear submarines in the East China Sea but not the South China Sea as the latter is vast in area and complicated under water. However China’s reclamation in key areas in the South China Sea will enable China to set up naval and air bases for anti-submarine aircrafts and warships to contain US nuclear submarines. Therefore, the article believes that US nuclear submarines will not be able to cruise freely in the East and South China Seas for much longer.
The article says that when China’s new nuclear submarines have been commissioned and communication technology improved, Chinese nuclear submarines will be able to operate near the US."

Iraq loses contact with soldiers near Fallujah

September 21, 2014

"Baghdad (AFP) - Iraq lost contact with soldiers during an operation Sunday aimed at rescuing a battalion that was repeatedly attacked by militants near the city of Fallujah, the defence ministry said.

"Communication was lost with some of our heroic soldiers... who were injured or wounded during the operations," the ministry said in a statement.

The assault involving army, police, counter-terrorism units and Shiite volunteers was aimed at pushing back Sunni militants who have been besieging an army base for more than a week.

"Forces from the interior and defence ministries, counter-terrorism forces and volunteers are advancing to clear the Al-Sijr area," Iraqi military spokesman Qassem Atta told AFP earlier on Sunday, referring to an area near Fallujah, west of Baghdad."

PM promises jail for returning Australian jihadists

September 21, 2014

"Sydney (AFP) - Prime Minister Tony Abbott on Monday warned Australians fighting with extremist groups in the Middle East they face lengthy jail terms if they return home.

"My unambiguous message to all Australians who fight with terrorist groups is that you will be arrested, prosecuted and jailed for a very long time," Abbott told parliament in a statement on national security.

Australia has announced tougher counter-terrorism laws to target home-grown terrorists and those who fight overseas over fears violent jihadist citizens in Syria and Iraq will return home.

"Our laws are being changed to make it easier to keep potential terrorists off our streets," Abbott said after the biggest security crackdown in Australian history last Thursday saw more than 800 police officers raid nearly 30 homes."

Russia pledges support to ISIS opponents, no plans to join US-led coalition

September 21, 2014

"Russia will not “buy tickets” to the international coalition that is being created by the US to fight the Islamic State, but will continue its aid to Iraq, Syria and other nations that are fighting terrorists on the spot.

The anti-ISIL coalition is not a club party – we do not expect any invitations and we are not going to buy entry tickets,” said Ilya Rogachev, the head of the Foreign Ministry’s Department for New Challenges and Threats. At the same time Russia will continue to support all states that fight against the Islamic State, the official told the Interfax news agency on Friday.

Rogachev used the older name ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and Levant) for the group that was also known as ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) and that is now acting simply under the name Islamic State (IS)."

Boko Haram fighters 'surrender' as alleged chief killed

September 24, 2014

"The Nigerian military has said that more than 260 Boko Haram militants have surrendered in north-eastern Nigeria.

A spokesman also said that the military had killed the man posing as the group's leader, Abubakar Shekau.

Mohammed Bashir is said to have appeared in the group's videos but is thought to be an imposter.

Boko Haram has suffered heavy losses in recent weeks as the Nigerian military battled the group close to its hometown of Maiduguri in the north east.

The military said that 135 Boko Haram members surrendered with their weapons in Biu, Borno State, on Tuesday - and that 133 others surrendered elsewhere in north-eastern Nigeria and were currently being interrogated.

The BBC's Will Ross in Lagos says that this has never happened before in the war against Boko Haram.

Although it is impossible to independently verify, the military is seeing it as a turning point, our correspondent adds."

snip    and please note the last sentence  The ? is, does the BBC now report stories it can't verify? Posted as a reminder that MSM news is questionable. The story may be true or not, I guess, but where are the 200 girls, that a multi national military group never found?

Ukraine warns West against lifting Russia sanctions

September 24, 2014

"Ukraine's prime minister has urged the West not to lift sanctions on Russia until his country regains control of all its territory.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk told the UN General Assembly that Russian troops were still operating in eastern Ukraine.

Earlier, US President Barack Obama said sanctions could be lifted if Russia supported a ceasefire between Ukraine and separatist rebels in the east.

Russia denies arming the rebels and sending Russian troops to Ukraine.

Russia annexed Ukraine's Crimea southern peninsula in March - a move condemned by Ukraine and the West.

The European Union and the United States later imposed sanctions against Russia over its role in the Ukraine conflict."

Cease-fire in eastern Ukraine violated

September 24, 2014

"MOSCOW (AP) — Mortar fire struck an apartment block in the rebel-held city of Donetsk overnight, yet another violation of a cease-fire declared weeks earlier between government forces and pro-Russian insurgents.

The attack came even as both sides claimed to be pulling back heavy artillery to set up a buffer zone.

More than 3,000 people have been killed in the conflict since mid-April with key infrastructure such as airports and bridges completely destroyed by shelling.

The Donetsk mayor's office on Wednesday reported two attacks, one late on Tuesday and another in the early hours Wednesday. In one of them, a mortar shell hit an apartment block."

Cameron Recalls Parliament for Vote on Airstrikes in Iraq

By Robert Hutton and Terry Atlas

September 24, 2014

"U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron is recalling Parliament to meet tomorrow for a vote to authorize joining international airstrikes against Islamic State militants in Iraq.

Cameron, who made the announcement while in New York attending the United Nations General Assembly, has the backing of his Liberal Democrat coalition partners and opposition Labour Party leader Ed Miliband for airstrikes.

In light of a request for military help from the Iraqi government, the U.K. has “a clear basis in international law for action, and we have a need to act in our own national interest to protect our people and our society,” the prime minister said in his speech to the world body yesterday. “So it is right that Britain should now move to new phase of action.”

Israel says Iran used Parchin military site for testing nuclear detonation technology

Jeffrey Heller

September 25, 2014

"(Reuters) - Israel said on Wednesday that Iran has used its Parchin military base as the site for secret tests of technology that could be used only for detonating a nuclear weapon.

The Jewish state has been a severe critic of six big powers' negotiations with Iran on curbing its nuclear energy programme, suspecting Tehran is only trying to buy time to master sensitive nuclear know-how and would evade the terms of any final deal.

The Islamic Republic says allegations that it is seeking a nuclear weapons capability are false and baseless. Tehran says it is Israel's assumed atomic arsenal that is a destabilising threat to the Middle East .A statement from Intelligence Minister Yuval Steinitz, issued a day before Iranian President Hassan Rouhani - the architect of Tehran's nuclear diplomacy - was to address the U.N. General Assembly, said the implosion tests at Parchin involved neutron sources that would include nuclear material."

Islamic fighters advance in Syria despite U.S. strikes

September 24, 2014

"DAMASCUS/MURSITPINAR Turkey (Reuters) - U.S. planes pounded Islamic State positions in Syria for a second day on Wednesday, but the strikes did not halt the fighters' advance in a Kurdish area where fleeing refugees told of villages burnt and captives beheaded.

President Barack Obama, speaking at the United Nations, asked the world to join together to fight the militants and vowed to keep up military pressure against them.

"The only language understood by killers like this is the language of force, so the United States of America will work with a broad coalition to dismantle this network of death," Obama said in 40 minute speech to the U.N. General Assembly.

Islamist militants in Algeria boasted in a video they had beheaded a French hostage captured on Sunday to punish Paris for joining air strikes against Islamic State in Iraq. The French government said it would not be deterred from taking action against "an association of assassins"."

Another Pakistani smuggler beheaded in Saudi Arabia
September 19, 2014, 4:05 pm
RIYADH-  Saudi Arabia beheaded a Pakistani who attempted to smuggle heroin into the kingdom, the interior ministry said, adding to the more than 50 people executed this year.
His decapitation takes to 55 the number of people beheaded in the ultra-conservative Gulf nation so far this year, compared with 78 people in all of 2013. A United Nations independent expert last week called on Saudi Arabia to implement an immediate moratorium.

It came to me today.

Take the word RELIGION and then STATE as one term.

RELIGION STATE i.e. Islamic State

This is how they plan to destroy the last world religion i.e. neuter it to the same level as so many other previous and current religions who have been consigned to lesser roles by maligning it in the eyes of the world so as to invoke revulsion and outrage.

As a Bonus the old ideas of STATE are being dissolved away by the same means.

Where perception is reality then that is your battlefield so when most people can hardly locate their own actual states on a map or have much concept of global matters creating an imaginary Religious State that lives up to the ideal enemy (since there really is none that ticks all the boxes) one so inhuman and grotesque that it demands immediate destruction is the perfect fit is no great cognitive leap. Fluff movies used to justify global war.

Their New Age is upon us (or so they hope) for which they need your consent even though they solicit it through deception they still must remain true to the plan and therefore themselves so their works are and must be on full display, throughout the centuries they've been building by dividing.

Nine Japanese said to have joined ISIS

September 26, 2014

"TOKYO: Nine Japanese nationals have joined ISIS, Japan's former air force chief, Toshio Tamogami, quoted a senior Israeli government official as saying, but the government's top spokesman said on Friday it had not confirmed the information.

Tamogami, now a senior official of a tiny new political party, said on his blog that Nissim Ben Shitrit, the director-general of Israel's foreign ministry, told him this month that nine Japanese had taken part in ISIS.

Asked about the possible participation of Japanese citizens in the militant group, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga told a regular news conference, "The government has not confirmed such information.

No one was immediately available for comment at the Israeli embassy in Tokyo, at the Israeli foreign ministry or at the Japanese foreign ministry.

Tamogami told Reuters that no details besides the number of Japanese participants were given to him in his meeting with Nissim Ben Shitrit, a former ambassador to Japan."

So now we have the Israeli's telling that 9 Japanese joined ISIS?  interesting!!  gee, wonder how they know :angry2:

THe ISIS construct is undermining Obama (US power), Islam (Religious power), Cameron (UK, UN speech etc. etc.) and others. It is UNDERMINING to put it simply.

Undermining all that people might hold dear or did. It's driving people crazy. These players do not become stronger they are all mutually becoming weaker to their power bases as their power bases become weaker as they lose their minds. Metaphorically lose their heads.

Ask yourself, how and why can such a beautiful space and home as the Earth is be reduced to such stuffy and tiny no room to breath abstract dimension?

By imprisoning perceptions by jamming the hearts and minds so people forget to notice the beauty of their life and the sharing of that beauty with each other.

Germany To Send Troops To Ukraine To Monitor Ceasefire: France May Send Drones

October 7, 2014

By Kalyan Kumar

"With the fragile ceasefire in Ukraine coming under threat by fresh violence in eastern Ukraine, Germany has stepped in with an offer to send 200 peacekeepers including paratroopers to Ukraine.

Endorsing the plans of European Union to secure peace in Ukraine, German Chancellor Angela Merkel has started exploratory discussions to "salvage the crumbling ceasefire" between pro-Russian rebels and Ukrainian government since it came into in September, reports Daily Mail UK.

Historic Importance

There is a historic importance about the entry of German troops into Ukraine. This time they are seeking to enter Ukraine as peaceniks, but German troops, under the Nazi invasion during the Second World War in 1941 had the most violent face and killed 7 million Soviet Ukrainian civilians and military personnel.  That is why Berlin showed some initial reluctance to the idea of deploying its troops in Ukraine because of the Second World War incidents."

American Teen Faces Charges Of Joining ISIS

October 7, 2014

Esther Tanquintic-Misa

"A 19-year old American from Chicago, Illinois is facing terrorism-related charges for allegedly trying to join the radical and brutal group ISIS. Authorities arrested Mohammed Hamzah Khan late Saturday at O'Hare International Airport while waiting for a flight to Vienna. He is believed to fly to Istanbul, Turkey from Vienna, and then work out his way into Iraq or Syria to join ISIS.

Khan, a U.S. citizen, is facing one count of attempting to provide material support to a terrorist organization, a criminal complaint filed by the Department of Justice on Monday said. If found guilty, Khan will serve 15 years in prison as well as pay a $250,000 fine, according to a news release from the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois.

At the time he was being arrested at the airport by FBI agents, others executed a search warrant his home. Authorities said they found documents implicating him to the Islamic State group. The search in his home yielded that the Austrian Airlines ticket to Turkey was purchased in late September."

As US attacks Islamic State near Baghdad, the fight hits one US family at home (+video)

October 6, 2014

By Howard LaFranchi

"Parents of Peter Kassig, an American aid worker who was abducted while in eastern Syria on a humanitarian mission, are appealing to the Islamic State to release their son.

Washington — American forces in Iraq to help the Iraqi military push back advancing Islamic State fighters used Apache helicopters for the first time over the weekend to attack positions of the Islamist terrorist group near Baghdad.

At the same time, the parents of an American aid worker held captive in Syria and threatened with beheading by the Islamic State (IS) pleaded for mercy for their son, Peter Kassig, a former US Army Ranger turned EMT who had gone to Lebanon in 2012 to help Syrian war victims.

The two disparate events demonstrated how quickly IS, also known as ISIS or ISIL, has gone from a murky preoccupation for diplomats worried about the group’s growth in war-ravaged Syria to a US military target and an unsettling household fixture in the US."

Gen. Hayden: Panetta Right, Fighting ISIS Will Take 'Generation Plus'
October 6, 2014

"Retired Air Force Gen. Michael Hayden agrees with former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta's prediction that the fight with the Islamic State (ISIS) will be like a 30-year war.

"It's not going to be 30 years of American bombing, one hopes," he told J.D. Hayworth on "America's Forum" on Newsmax TV Monday. However, "it's going to take a generation plus for a new equilibrium to establish in the Middle East," he explained. "Frankly, I agree with that very strongly."

Panetta, who served as CIA director in the Obama administration before heading up the Pentagon, told USA Today that President Barack Obama made decisions that led to the Islamic State (ISIS) gaining as much power as it has in Iraq, primarily by not working harder to convince the Iraqi government to keep a residual force of U.S. troops in Iraq.

Panetta also predicted that the fight against ISIS will be a "kind of a 30-year war."

UN warns 12,000 will be massacred if Kobane falls

By Middle East correspondent Hayden Cooper, wires

Thousands of people "will most likely be massacred" if Kobane falls to Islamic State (IS) fighters, a United Nations envoy said, as militants reportedly overran the headquarters of Kurdish forces in the battleground Syrian border town and now control 40 per cent of it.

UN envoy Staffan de Mistura said Kobane could suffer the same fate as the Bosnian town of Srebrenica, where 8,000 Muslims were killed by Serbs in 1995, Europe's worst atrocity since World War II.

"Do you remember Srebrenica? We do. We never forgot and probably we never forgave ourselves," he said.

The Siege Of Kobani: Obama’s Syrian Fiasco In Motion by David Stockman •

October 6, 2014

Another humanitarian catastrophe may be just hours away at Kobani. The latter is the Syrian Kurdish town on the border with Turkey that is now surrounded by ISIS tanks and is being pounded day after day by ISIS heavy artillery. Already this lethal phalanx, which fuses 21st century American technology and equipment with 12th century religious fanaticism, has rolled through dozens of Kurdish villages and towns in the region around Kobani, sending 180,000 refugees fleeing for their lives across the border.

Self-evidently the lightly armed Kurdish militias desperately holding out in Kobani are fighting the right enemy—-that is, the Islamic State. So why has Obama’s grand coalition not been able to relieve the siege?  Why haven’t American bombers and cruise missiles, for instance, been able to destroy the American tanks and artillery which a terrifying band of butchers has brought to bear on several hundred thousand innocent Syrian Kurds who have made this enclave their home for more than a century? Why has not NATO ally Turkey, with a 600,000 man military, 3,500 tanks and 1,000 modern aircraft and helicopters, done anything meaningful to help the imperiled Kurds?

Let’s see. The US is making perfunctory air strikes. Yet with no boots on the ground in the context of close urban combat in a city of 50,000—–a major air onslaught would result in massive civilian casualties. Although Obama already has much blood on his hands, he is apparently not ready for a Gaza-on-the-Euphrates.

So then why doesn’t Turkey put some infantry and spotters on the ground—-highly trained “boots” that are literally positioned a few kilometers away on its side of the border?

Well, Turkish President Erdogan just explained his government’s reluctance quite succinctly, as reported by Bloomberg on Saturday:

For us, ISIL and the (Kurdish) PKK are the same,” Erdogan said in televised remarks today in Istanbul.

And, no, the Syrian and Turkish Kurds so classified as terrorists are not some black sheep cousins of the “good guy” Kurds in Erbil and northeastern Iraq that CNN parades every night as America’s heroic ally on the ground. They are all part of the greater Kurdish nation of some 30 million who inhabit southeastern Turkey, northeastern Syria and Iraq and western Iran. Taken together, these Kurdish enclaves comprise the single largest ethnic population in the Middle East that does not have its own state, and which has been a source of irredentist conflict and instability for decades.
