Marijuana is Schedule 1 and Meth and Coke Schedule 2!!  WTF...

WATCH: Congressman Asks a Question About Weed and Accidentally Exposes Tyrannical Drug War

Posted By: HotCoffee
Date: Thursday, 27-Jul-2017 15:38:36

snip
When Gowdy asks Richard Baum, the acting director of Trump’s ONDCP, why marijuana is a schedule one, Baum immediately skirts the question. He then digresses into support for big pharma’s version of synthetic marijuana by saying that the FDA-approved versions of marijuana components can help people.

While Gowdy didn’t go so far as to call for the legalization of cannabis — because it would likely mean political suicide among his staunchly conservative base — his line of questioning set off a conversation that would eventually expose the war on drugs.

Cannabis has never killed anyone — ever. That being said, however, cocaine and meth kill thousands every year. Yet, as Baum concedes, the DEA considers them safer than this amazing plant.

When Gowdy brings this up, Baum is unable to respond and uncomfortably squirms in his chair — likely knowing the real reason marijuana remains a schedule one drug.

Oregon To Decriminalize Cocaine, Heroin, Methamphetamine, Oxycodone, LSD and Ecstasy

Aug. 8, 2017

"Oregon is an amazingly strange state, and it got even more so last month when its legislature voted to defelonize cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, oxycodone, LSD and ecstasy.

Oregon already had a weed-friendly history that goes back to 1973, when it became the first state in the union to decriminalize possession of small amounts of marijuana. In 1998, medical marijuana went legal, and in 2015, recreational weed was legalized.

While states across the land have stepped up to legalize or decriminalize medical and/or recreational pot in soaring numbers (29 so far), people get a bit squeamish about doing the same with hard drugs.

Although it is widely reported that when Portugal decriminalized all drugs in 2001 and replaced criminal sanctions with civil penalties and health interventions, drug use did not explode. Indeed, the opposite occurred.

Then, of course, only recently the United Nations called for decriminalization of all drugs, so it’s not as though Oregon is suggesting something unheard of, or unreasonable.

If Governor Kate Brown signs Oregon House Bill 2355, as expected, it will become state law."

This is interesting given that the new form of drugs being located and used are so potent.  As it says, what would be the point of killing your customers?  Is this a way for dealing with drug users with it being blamed on China, or is it payback?  Something doesn't feel right about this.

JON RAPPOPORT – “The current killer opioid epidemic and the great 19th century Opium Wars against China; Alert: Some of these drugs are not simply addicting; they cause instant death.” What goes around, comes around, eh?

How Big Pharma gets away with selling crystal meth to children: By renaming it ‘Adderall’

Oct. 22, 2017

"In an interview on All In with Chris Hayes on MSNBC, drug abuse and addiction expert Carl Hart from Columbia University revealed one shocking claim:

Big Pharma is practically selling Methamphetamine, and selling it as Adderall. This isn’t the only time he has said this. In a report from 2014, Hart and co-authors Don Habibi and Joanne Csete, who are also from Columbia University, took a look into meth’s effect on the human brain.

They concluded that there isn’t any recognizable differences in the effects of amphetamine, illicit or prescription.

FDA says Meth OK for ADHD, Weight Loss

Amphetamines are chemicals that can be utilized recreationally and for medical purposes. Meth is popular on our streets, and refers to dextroamphetamine or methamphetamine. “Crystal meth” is mainly methamphetamine hydrochloride. Authors in the report suggest that popular and scientific literature consistently portrays meth to be more addictive and potent than most other amphetamines.

“Such statements, however, are inconsistent with the empirical evidence,” they wrote.

“In carefully controlled laboratory studies of human research participants, (dextroamphetamine) and methamphetamine produce nearly identical physiological and behavioral effects… They both increase blood pressure, pulse, euphoria, and desire to take the drug in a dose-dependent manner. Essentially, they are the same drug.”

This means drugs with amphetamine like Adderall (prescribed to treat narcolepsy and “attention deficit hyperactivity disorder” in kids as young as two years old, isn’t any different from methamphetamine. Adderall contains 25 percent of amphetamines and 75 percent of dextroamphetamine salts. This is how Adderall gets its mental enhancement effects. The drug is prescribed to improve athletic and mental performance, and is used commonly for recreational purposes to produce a feel good “high.”

I looked it up, and about fell over, as I knew a small child this was given to, makes me wonder how many it was given to, and if it has affected them in their grown up lives, as this was handed out like candy about 15 or so years ago. Our 20 yr. olds now.

The four ingredients that are a part of Adderall XR include Dextroamphetamine saccharate, Amphetamine Aspartate, Dextroamphetamine Sulfate, and Amphetamine Sulfate, each of which are in equal proportions.

U.S., Afghan aircraft target Taliban's poppy facilities

Nov. 20, 2017        Allen Cone  James LaPorta

"Nov. 20 (UPI) -- U.S. and Afghan aircraft on Monday began destroying poppy processing facilities in southern Afghanistan -- under direction from the Trump administration to disrupt sources of Taliban revenue, military officials of both governments said.

B-52 bombers, F-22 Raptor fighters, unmanned aircraft, Marine Corps rocket fire and Afghan A-29 aircraft struck eight narcotics processing sites in Helmand province, the U.S. military and Afghanistan government announced in Kabul.

"Our combined operations over the last 24 hours are demonstration of our will to defeat terrorists and those who support them especially in the narcotics networks," said Gen. John Nicholson, the commander of U.S. Forces Afghanistan and the NATO-led Resolute Support Mission, told reporters on Monday.

"We hit the labs where they turn poppy into heroin. We hit their storage facilities where they keep their final product, where they stockpile their money and their command and control," Nicholson said.

The combined airstrike operations were on seven Taliban drug labs and one command-and-control node in northern Helmand province, NATO officials said. Three of those strikes were in the Kajaki district, four in Musa Qalah and one in Sangin, key terrain the Taliban has historically used to grow massive poppy fields and produce large quantities of heroin.

The strikes were the first major use of authority granted Aug. 21 by President Donald Trump to target the Taliban's revenue stream, officials said, adding that insurgents generate an estimated $200 million a year from poppy cultivation and opium production, which is 60 percent of the militants' income."

Finally, someone is hitting the drug problem where it counts.

87 people now ill from toxic K2 overdose in Brooklyn

May 23, 2017         Rocco Parascandola

snip   image

"The K2 overdose tally keeps growing in Brooklyn, where 87 people have now fallen ill using the powerful drug, police said Wednesday.

The particularly toxic batch of synthetic marijuana has felled people across several neighborhoods in north Brooklyn the past week.

None of the overdoses have been fatal.

Police, meanwhile, are still trying to figure out where the drugs came from and who brought it into Brooklyn.

The epicenter appears to be Broadway and Myrtle Ave., though many of the overdoses have actually occurred at homeless shelters in East New York and Brownsville.

Who knew what K2 was? I sure didn't.   So many with serious addictions, lives altered or lost.  How to fix this, because it's apparent the "war on drugs" has earned failing grades.

15,500 Kilos of Cocaine, Worth $1 Billion Officials Say, Seized at Philadelphia Port; Crew Charged

June 18, 2019  Jonathon Dienst

"Some crew members allegedly brought the massive cache aboard while at sea, and were paid $50,000 each for their efforts, according to a federal complaint

Shipping containers full of illegal drugs have been found and seized by federal authorities at a Philadelphia port in what federal authorities describe as the largest seizure in the region's history.

A senior law enforcement official said more than 15,500 kilos of cocaine were found in seven containers, which were found aboard a cargo ship, the MSC Gayane, that previously stopped in Colombia, Chile, Panama and the Bahamas.

At least two crew members of the Gayane have been charged with trafficking, according to a complaint filed Tuesday by the U.S. Attorney's Office. Other crew members were also allegedly involved, the complaint charges.

The bust occurred at the Packer Avenue Marine Terminal Port on the Delaware River in South Philadelphia, multiple local, state and federal law enforcement sources have told NBC10."

14 Mexican Mafia-Linked Members Charged With Trafficking Drugs And Guns Out Of Bar And Hotel In Calif.

June 26, 2019

"LOS ANGELES – As part of a joint federal-state law enforcement action targeting the Rancho San Pedro street gang, authorities this morning unsealed two federal grand jury indictments that charge 14 members and associates of the gang with narcotics and firearms offenses.

The main federal indictment, which charges 13 defendants, outlines a narcotics trafficking conspiracy in which gang members and their associates allegedly distributed methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine and opioids, while using violence and firearms to maintain their drug trafficking territory. The drugs – including up to one-pound quantities of methamphetamine – allegedly were often sold out of a hotel and two bars on Pacific Avenue in San Pedro.

During this morning’s takedown, four of the federal defendants were arrested. Seven other defendants were already in state custody, and federal prosecutors will seek to have them brought into federal court. Three defendants are fugitives. Another 10 members and associates of the gang were arrested this morning pursuant to local charges.

The narcotics trafficking indictment alleges that the Rancho San Pedro street gang operates under the control of the Mexican Mafia and often engaged in violence and intimidation in an effort to protect its territory. The gang collected “taxes” from drug transactions, and this money was funneled to three Mexican Mafia members who are currently serving lengthy sentences in state prisons for murder convictions."

Federal Government Conducts Unprecedented Seizure of Massive Cargo Ship After Finding Almost 20 Tons of Cocaine on Board

July 8, 2019

"PHILADELPHIA – United States Attorney William M. McSwain announced today that, on July 4, 2019, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) executed a seizure warrant obtained by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and seized the cargo vessel MSC Gayane as being subject to possible forfeiture to the United States.

On June 17, 2019, federal, state, and local law enforcement agents boarded the MSC Gayane when it arrived at Packer Marine Terminal in Philadelphia and seized 19.76 tons of cocaine.  Since that time, crew members of the MSC Gayane have been charged with knowingly and intentionally conspiring with each other and others to possess more than five kilograms of cocaine on board a vessel subject to the jurisdiction of the United States.  The federal criminal investigation is ongoing.

As a result of this seizure, the MSC Gayane – a ship built in 2018 and measuring approximately two city blocks in length – has been placed under the custody of CBP and shall remain so until further proceedings or Order of the Court.

“A seizure of a vessel this massive is complicated and unprecedented – but it is appropriate because the circumstances here are also unprecedented.  We found nearly 20 tons of cocaine hidden on this ship,” said U.S. Attorney McSwain. “When a vessel brings such an outrageous amount of deadly drugs into Philadelphia waters, my Office and our agency partners will pursue the most severe consequences possible against all involved parties in order to protect our district – and our country.”

The semi-submersible vessel was carrying over 16,000 pounds of cocaine.

The video shows several Coast Guard boats approaching the vessel as it motors along in the ocean, mostly below the water's surface. When the vessel does not stop, several crew members board the vessel while still in motion and open the top hatch to reveal a man inside.

This was just one of 14 recent U.S. Coast Guard busts at sea off the coasts of Mexico, Central, and South America, netting more than 39,000 pounds of cocaine, worth an estimated $569 million."
