BREAKING: U.S. and Russia agree on cease-fire in Syria

Tracy Matheson   July 7, 2017

"Three U.S. officials said Friday that the United States and Russia have reached agreement on a cease-fire in southwest Syria.

Details regarding the agreement and its implementation were not immediately available, although officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, reported that the cease-fire is scheduled to take effect Sunday at noon Damascus time.

The agreement also includes Jordan and Israel, two U.S. allies who share a border with the southern part of Syria and have been concerned about violence from Syria’s civil war crossing their borders.

According to the Washington Examiner, “The deal is separate from ‘de-escalation zones’ that were to be created under a deal brokered by Russia, Turkey and Iran earlier this year. The U.S. was not a part of that deal. Follow-up talks this week in Kazakhstan to finalize a cease-fire in those zones failed to reach agreement.”

Leading up to President Trump’s Friday meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the G20 summit in Hamburg, Germany, the U.S. and Russia have been backing opposing sides in Syria’s war. Moscow supports Syrian President Bashar Assad and Washington supports rebels who are battling Assad. The U.S. and Russia agree on their opposition of ISIS in Syria."

CAPTURED: ISIS Jihadis Fleeing Terror Zone Wearing Padded Bras, Dresses And Garish Makeup – Forgetting Something?!?

July 23, 2017     Kristie McDonald

"AN ISIS fighter trying to flee Mosul as coalition forces close in attempted to escape by slathering himself in garish makeup – but forgot about his facial hair. That made one ugly woman.  <<(omg!)

isis-terrordisguise

As reported by The Express,

The Jihadi had powdered his face, applied obscene amounts of purple eyeshadow with thick black eyeliner, plucked and heavily filled in his bushy eyebrows, drawn on some beauty spots and finished the look with painted on red lips.

He was also wearing a headscarf to try and make his outfit look more authentic.

But the fanatic had overlooked one crucial part of his look – he had forgotten shave off his beard and moustache which – an immediate giveaway that he was not a real woman.

A photo taken before dressing up shows a bushier beard and eyebrows, indicated he had made some attempt to tame his unruly facial hair.

He was quickly snared while trying to flee the frontline in Mosul, as ISIS’ territory is now decimated following the coordinated efforts of coalition forces.

But he is not the only one who has attempted to use a female disguises to get out the city and evade justice."

I will refrain from expressing my thoughts, other than disgust that they just had to bomb and destroy monuments as they ran, trying to save their hides.

I will post Thor's Venezuela series on this thread. His first two installments, below, are setting up the story. It deepens in the second.

He really is good at editing and cutting film to tell an engaging story.

Anyway, I'm not sure how many parts there will be, but he's putting a lot of work into it and is spending a lot of time on it and has tons more research and video to pore over. Agree or not, he truly does care in his heart about his research and what he's putting out there. And, yes he can be a bit eccentric. : -) This series is a bit heavier and not so much with the comedy though.

I will post the remainder of the series as it's released.

Published on Aug 11, 2017 Part 1 - There will be Blood South of the Border - Please don't blame Socialism or a single corporation or a race, The shadow group running the show is so deep know one knows their names. God bless everyone, T

Published on Aug 15, 2017This is part 2 of the Devil is in Venezuela - a dragon & beast THORnews economy series. We take a look at the Creole Oil Corporation as it has controlled Venezuela, their resources and their infrastructure. The Company officially began doing 'business' there in 1928. The idea that Socialism was ever actually practiced there beyond that point is pure political and media fantasy. We're all in this together. And I am going to need the ones who are going the extra mile to maintain power and profits to understand that we all have to work together or we will all die, cuz the white walkers are coming. So it's time to step out of the cave, everybody stand down and put all Truth and Good ideas on the table. We don't want to repeat the Mars Valles Marineris mistake or the Atlantis mistake again? 3rd time is the Charm. So let's get it right this time. None of us are responsible for this mess. We all share the blame. But only a select few can take their boot heel off the neck of the world, and only a select few can call for the never ending 24/7 media cycle of divide and conquer to end. Trust me. I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't know it's our only chance of survival and prosperity. We are all in this Together. We can all win together and build an amazing future together. God bless everyone, May the Force be with you always, live long and prosper. T

3.8 Million People Displaced in African Country but Nobody Seems to Care

August 30, 2017

Source Link:  http://theantimedia.org/3-8-million-displaced-drc-african/

Written by Darius Shahtahmasebi

(ANTIMEDIA Op-ed) As the media — and the governments central to mainstream narratives — flow in and out of a number of humanitarian-related stories, from Syria to North Korea to Venezuela, one of the largest humanitarian crises in the world right now continues to be ignored.

According to the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHR), the number of internally displaced people in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has risen to 3.8 million – the highest number of displaced people in Africa.

This has hardly received a headline. The U.N. published the statistic about the DRC on July 7, 2017, but one would be hard-pressed to find a mainstream media outlet that has covered it. The top Google searches bring up Al Jazeera and the Times of India, two non-Western outlets that published their stories on August 27, 2017, and August 29, 2017, respectively — well over a month after the U.N. report was published. At the time, the Washington Post made a passing mention of the statistic in its “World Digest” report for July 12, 2017, but that was essentially the only mainstream coverage this topic received, with few exceptions. Either way, this devastating tragedy has hardly been headline news.

This underreporting is suspicious given the drastic rise in the number of displaced people in the region. According to a U.N. official, this figure of 3.8 million displaced people means the number of those displaced in the DRC has effectively doubled in a mere six month period.

The latest violence is estimated to have killed over 3,000 people whose deaths were instigated over the killing of a tribal chieftain known as the Kamwina Nsapu, who rebelled against the country’s president.

The Times of India also notes that at the same time, 500,000 refugees are arriving in the country amid further fighting in Burundi, Rwanda, South Sudan, and the Central African Republic.

This conflict, widely regarded to be related to a struggle for control of DRC’s vast mineral supplies (used in our cell phones, for example), has resulted in the deaths of close to 6 million people since 1998. Think of it as the current Syrian conflict death toll occurring every year for almost twenty years straight.

There are few surprises here, however, considering that in the 19th and early 20th centuries, Belgian King Leopold reportedly killed as many as 10 million people in the same region — “one of the greatest acts of mass murder in human history,” as the Guardian put it. Yet no one seems to bat an eye as a similar people continue to suffer and lose their lives.

Catalans 'vote overwhelmingly for independence' in 'illegal' referendum as Spanish prime minister denies poll has taken place and world leaders condemn crackdown that has left at least 888 protesters injured with FC Barcelona barring fans

Oct. 1, 2017   Joe Sheppard    Scott Campbell

"Catalan officials claimed 90% of 2.2million voters had called for independence in an 'illegal' referendum blighted by violent scenes which left at least 888 people injured.
World leaders condemned the brutal scenes after officials revealed that hundreds of protesters have been injured so far.
Officers were seen stamping and kicking protesters as they stormed buildings and seized ballot boxes.
Footage captured in the village of Sarria de Ter in the province of Girona showed authorities using an axe to smash down the doors of a polling station where Catalan president Carles Puigdemont was due to cast his vote.
He said the region had won the right to become an independent state with the referendum results due in a few days.
And in Barcelona, the region's capital, officers fired rubber bullets at thousands of protesters demonstrating against their votes being denied.
Boris Johnson condemned the violent clashes but said that the UK saw the vote as unconstitutional.
The Foreign Secretary said: 'We are obviously worried by any violence but clearly the referendum, as I understand it, is not constitutional so a balance needs to be struck. We hope very much that things will calm down.'"

I can understand that the referendum was illegal, but I don't see any balance in beating people like they did over a vote. Why not just let whatever peaceful voting take place and then invalidate the results? Tbh, I don't know enough about the situation to comment in an educated way, but on it's face, what I saw being done to people was inhumane. Where is the UN in this case??  Even if the vote was illegal, it still looks like human rights violations all over the place.  Someone might need to write a Catalan "Les Misérable" because I have a feeling they are not going to stand down. I have no opinion about whether the Catalans are wrong or right in their quest for independence. But beating and terrorizing defenseless citizens of all walks of life is not the answer.

"BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:40 P.M.) – The Islamic State (ISIS) recently carried out a drone attack on a Syrian Arab Army (SAA) ammo depot in the Deir Ezzor Governorate’s western countryside.

As a result of the drone attack, the Islamic State managed to destroy the entire Syrian Army ammo storage that was located at the municipal football stadium in Deir Ezzor’s Panorama area.

Video footage of the Islamic State was released by the terrorist group’s official media wing on Tuesday – please see below:

Mmm seems to be more than one drone and where would ISIS get a drone that can carry ordinance that weight and have such high res camera quality gyroscopic-ally stabilized.

Seems anyone can get hold of this form of tech these days. Or was it another mistaken ID by the coalition drone forces .

Easier to beg forgiveness than ask for permission....

Future Saudi king tightens grip on power with arrests including Prince Alwaleed

Nov. 4, 2017   Stephen Kalin   Katie Paul

"RIYADH (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia’s future king has tightened his grip on power through an anti-corruption purge by arresting royals, ministers and investors including billionaire Alwaleed bin Talal who is one of the kingdom’s most prominent businessmen.

snip  video

Prince Alwaleed, a nephew of the king and owner of investment firm Kingdom Holding, invests in firms such as Citigroup and Twitter. He was among 11 princes, four ministers and tens of former ministers detained, three senior officials told Reuters on Sunday.

The purge against the kingdom’s political and business elite also targeted the head of the National Guard, Prince Miteb bin Abdullah, who was detained and replaced as minister of the powerful National Guard by Prince Khaled bin Ayyaf.

The allegations against Prince Alwaleed include money laundering, bribery and extorting officials, one official told Reuters, while Prince Miteb is accused of embezzlement, hiring ghost employees and awarding contracts to his own companies including a $10 billion deal for walkie talkies and bulletproof military gear worth billions of Saudi riyals."

My guess is it has a lot to do with the recent meeting with Kuschner, Iran, and Hillary.

What Reuters does not share is that Prince Alwaleed is the second largest shareholder at Twitter.  He also reportedly was behind millions in donations to the Clinton Foundation.

Mohammed bin Salman is returning Saudia Arabia to the consolidated power dynamics of Abdulaziz, the first Saudi king, according to Haykel.

The difference, however, is that the current crown prince “has a full, modern state — with all its instruments of power and coercion and efficiency — at his disposal, which the first king didn’t have,” he said. “In effect, he and his father are the most powerful kings Saudi Arabia has ever seen.”

After 37 years, rule of Zimbabwe’s Mugabe appears to be over

Farai Mutsaka     Andrew Meldrum     Nov. 14, 2017

"HARARE, Zimbabwe (AP) — Zimbabwe’s military was in control of the capital and the state broadcaster on Wednesday and was holding President Robert Mugabe and his wife under house arrest in what appeared to be a coup against the 93-year-old Mugabe, the world’s oldest head of state.

The military was at pains, however, to emphasize it had not staged a military takeover, but was instead starting a process to restore Zimbabwe’s democracy.

Still, the military appeared to have brought an end to Mugabe’s long, 37-year reign in what the army’s supporters praised as a “bloodless correction.” South Africa and other neighboring countries were sending in leaders to negotiate with Mugabe and the generals to encourage the transition.

Citizens in Zimbabwe’s tidy capital, Harare, contributed to the feeling of a smooth transition by carrying on with their daily lives, walking past the army’s armored personnel carriers to go to work and to shops. Many who have never known any leader but Mugabe waited in long lines at banks to draw limited amounts of cash, a result of this once-prosperous country’s plummeting economy.

Felix Tsanganyiso, who sells mobile airtime vouchers in Harare, said he was following the developments on WhatsApp."

Saudis told Abbas to accept Trump peace plan or resign — report

Sue Surkes    Nov. 12, 2017

"During his surprise summons to Riyadh last week, Palestinian Authority chief was also ordered to avoid Iran, cut ties with Hezbollah, according to Channel 10 TV

Saudi Arabia last week ordered Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to either accept an Israeli-Palestinian peace deal being put together by the Trump administration, or resign, according to an Israeli report Sunday.

The Trump administration has begun drafting an Israeli-Palestinian peace proposal based on a two-state solution, officials and analysts quoted by The New York Times said on Saturday.

A senior White House adviser said the plan would attempt to tackle controversial issues such as the status of Jerusalem and West Bank settlements.

Abbas was called unexpectedly to Riyadh six days ago by the office of the powerful Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman.

There, in addition to being told to “accept Trump’s peace plan [when it is presented] or quit,” he was ordered to keep away from any Iranian influence, according to the report on Israel’s Channel 10.

The Saudi authorities made clear that they were dismayed by media images of Hamas’s deputy political leader, Saleh al-Arouri, visiting Tehran in October. Arouri, a Hamas terror chief, was the Hamas signatory on a reconciliation deal with Abbas’s Fatah group signed in Cairo last month."

Pro-Erdoğan columnist calls on Turks to get ready for war with NATO

Nov. 20, 2017

"Ardan Zentürk, a columnist for the pro-government daily Star, has said Turkey will fight a war with NATO, adding that whoever says they “will not fight” should leave the country now.

Starting with a recent scandal in which Atatürk was portrayed as an enemy on a war chart during a NATO drill in Norway, then adding US aid to Kurdish forces in Syria, a court case against Turkish-Iranian gold trader Reza Zarrab for violating US sanctions against İran and the US refusal to extradite Fethullah Gülen, who the government accuses of masterminding a failed coup in Turkey last summer, Zentürk in his article published in the Star daily today said: “The US is not now administered by Americans who are accountable to the American taxpayer. Low-life people from the neocon/Zionist lobby with deep media connections have launched an operation against our country by turning [President Donald] Trump into a puppet.”

Egyptian mosque attack death toll climbs to 305

Bradford Betz     Nov. 24, 2017

snip  video

"The death toll in Friday’s terrorist attack on a mosque in Egypt’s northern Sinai region has surpassed 300, including 27 children.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el Sisi has vowed to retaliate with brute force for the attack on Al Rawdah mosque that left 305 dead and 128 injured.

“What is happening is an attempt to stop us from our efforts in the fight against terrorism,” Sisi said in a televised address. “The armed forces and the police will avenge our martyrs and restore security and stability with the utmost force.”

Hours after the massacre, the military initiated airstrikes on terrorist locations around Bir al-Abed, about 25 miles west of North Sinai’s main city Al-Arish, where weapons, ammunition were reportedly stocked. Several vehicles used in the attack had been located and bombed, an army spokesperson said."

Islamist suicide plot to assassinate Prime Minister Theresa May foiled

Dec. 6, 2017

"Two men will appear in court later today to face charges related to an alleged explosive plot on Downing Street.

A terror plot to assassinate Prime Minister Theresa May has been foiled, Sky sources have confirmed.

Sky's Crime Correspondent Martin Brunt said: "It's the latest in a number of terror plots that police and MI5 believe they've foiled this year.

"I understand that the head of MI5, Andrew Parker, briefed Cabinet ministers today, such is the seriousness of what they believed they have uncovered.

"It is in essence an extreme Islamist suicide plot against Downing Street. Essentially police believe that the plan was to launch some sort of improvised explosive device at Downing Street and in the ensuing chaos attack and kill Theresa May, the Prime Minister.

"This is something which has been pursued over several weeks at least by Scotland Yard, MI5 and West Midlands Police.

"It came to a head last week with the arrest of two men, by armed police, who were charged with preparing acts of terrorism."

Israel airstrikes, Gaza rockets amid tensions over Jerusalem

Dec. 9, 2017    Laura Smith-Spark, Bijan Hosseini and Nic Robertson

"Two Palestinians were killed Saturday in Israeli airstrikes in Gaza, the Palestinian Health Ministry said, as tensions rose in the region after US President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

The Israel Defense Forces said aircraft had targeted what it identified as four facilities belonging to Hamas -- the Palestinian Islamist group that controls Gaza -- early Saturday in response to rockets fired into southern Israel from Gaza.

The aircraft targeted two weapons manufacturing sites, a weapons warehouse and a military compound, according to an IDF statement.
The two Palestinians killed were men, 27 and 30 years old, Palestinian Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qadra told CNN.

The IDF said Israeli aircraft had also struck a Hamas training compound and ammunition warehouse late Friday in Gaza."

Erdogan steps up attacks on 'state of occupation' Israel

Dec. 9, 2017

"Istanbul (AFP) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday described Israel as a "state of occupation" which used "terror" against the Palestinians, as he stepped up his criticism of the US recognition of Jerusalem as its capital.

Erdogan has been bitterly opposed to the decision of US President Donald Trump to recognise Jerusalem and has called a summit of Islamic countries on December 13 in Istanbul.

"Israel is a state of occupation," Erdogan said in a speech in Istanbul, referring to Israel's continued occupation of the West Bank and settlement building.

"And now they are making use of terror and are bombing young people and children," he said.

Retaliatory Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip killed two militants from Palestinian Islamist group Hamas before dawn, bringing to four the number killed since Trump announced the move.

Erdogan, who regards himself as a champion of the Palestinian cause and an opponent of any perceived global injustice against Muslims, described Jerusalem as the "apple of our eye" and a "red line" for Muslims.

He said that the American decision was "null and void" for Ankara."

Putin announces Russian troop withdrawal from Syria during visit

Dec. 11, 2017

"Russia has begun withdrawing some of its troops from Syria, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu said on Monday.
President Vladimir Putin ordered the partial withdrawal during an unannounced visit to Syria on Monday.
Russian support has been crucial in turning the tide of Syria's civil war in favour of government forces, led by president Bashar al-Assad.
Mr Putin made a similar withdrawal announcement last year, but Russian military operations continued.
When asked how long it would take for Russia to withdraw its military contingent, Mr Shoigu said that this would "depend on the situation" in Syria.
The Russian president was met by Mr al-Assad at the Russian Hmeimim airbase near Latakia."
