breezy posted a topic in General DiscussionAmerica to hand off Internet in under two months August 16, 2016 Rudy Takala image courtesy you tube "The Department of Commerce is set to hand off the final vestiges of American control over the Internet to international authorities in less than two months, officials have confirmed. The department will finalize the transition effective Oct. 1, Assistant Secretary Lawrence Strickling wrote on Tuesday, barring what he called "any significant impediment." The move means the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority, which is responsible for interpreting numerical addresses on the Web to a readable language, will move from U.S. control to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, a multistakeholder body based in Los Angeles that includes countries such as China and Russia. Critics of the move, most prominently Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, have pointed out the agency could be used by totalitarian governments to shut down the Web around the globe, either in whole or in part. "The proposal will significantly increase the power of foreign governments over the Internet, expand ICANN's historical core mission by creating a gateway to content regulation, and embolden [its] leadership to act without any real accountability," Cruz wrote in a letter sent to Commerce and signed by two fellow Republicans, Sen. James Lankford of Oklahoma and Sen. Mike Lee of Utah. In the event any facilities are relocated to China, senators noted, they could go in the same building as the agency responsible for censoring that country's Internet. "We have uncovered that ICANN's Beijing office is actually located within the same building as the Cyberspace Administration of China, which is the central agency within the Chinese government's censorship regime," they wrote, noting that some of the American companies involved with the transition process have already "shown a willingness to acquiesce" to Chinese demands to aid with censorship." snip http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/america-to-hand-off-internet-in-under-two-months/article/2599521
Please refrain from splitting hairs when you read this and making stupid comments off topic , look at the bigger picture, I suggest you take the test and realise what is tought now compared with a century ago. 1912 Eighth Grade Examination for Bullitt County Schools This copy of the Eighth Grade Exam for Bullitt County Schools in 1912 was donated to the museum. We thought you might like to see what the test looked like a hundred years ago. Obviously it tested some things that were more relevant at that time than now, and it should not be used to compare student knowledge then and now. Note that there are several typesetting mistakes on the test including a mistake in the spelling list. The word "eneeavor" should be "endeavor." This version of the exam was probably a master version given out to the schools (note that the spelling words wouldn’t be written on a test.) The museum has been told that the exam was handed out in a scroll form (that is why the paper is long.) The typos would have been corrected simply by contacting the teachers and telling them to mark their copies accordingly, much like would be done today. And there might not be quite as many typos as you think; "Serbia" for example was indeed spelled "Servia" back then. http://www.bullittcountyhistory.com/bchistory/schoolexam1912.html
breezy posted a topic in General DiscussiondeceptionsTwo "Lest We Forget" by Chris Pratt Posted by Nexus Editor Published on Jan 27, 2014 From the filmmaker.... "Lest We Forget" is an indictment of our Leaders, our Media, our Actions and ultimately of ourselves for remaining intentionally blind to an American made Holocaust. Watch this film only if you are prepared to face the truth about the predatory nature of the ruling elite and their manipulation of your perceptions and beliefs especially as it relates to terrorism. I knew that the vast majority of our politicians along with media sold out years ago, but I have been surprised by the level of Willful Blindness and lack of spiritual guidance displayed by our so called "Religious Leaders". Perhaps they feed at the same trough. http://www.infiniteunknown.net/2014/02/03/deceptionstwo-lest-we-forget-by-chris-pratt-video/
