All Is Sound - Modern music's role in the Transformation of the Earth and all its souls

Recommended Posts

This is a topic I have been subtly researching since I was a child and attached myself to a few popular tunes I heard on the radio.  My father was a radio broadcast engineer and I spent many days with him at the studios and in the truck listening to songs played on the stations he worked for, almost always popular music.

I am going to initiate this by posting some lyrics from a recent release by a new and young pop band from Canada that I think are, well, supremely inspired by the transformation that is happening right now.  The band is aptly named 'Walk Off The Earth', the album: REVO

I am sure there are many, many more instances of this 'phenomenon.'  Please post lyrics or links to songs that have moved you or feel are in some way inspired.

PS - I looked for a better sub-forum to place this under, but could not find one dedicated to general Earth Transformation or Music as a serious topic. Please don't move this to music and humor, this is not intended as a casual or dismissive topic.

Revo

Close your eyes and take my hand

Throw out what the teacher said

The revolution's in my head

The revolution's in my head

Raise the mast and set your sails

Just say when,

Just say when,

Just say when,

Just say when,

Go!

I've got a fever that I can't control

I'm knee-deep and I don't even know my name

I forgot about it.

I'm on fire, I'm a burning coal,

We can't fight it 'cause we never sold the flame,

Not for love or money.

Close your eyes and take my hand

Silenced by the driving sound

The revolution's in my head

The revolution's in my head

Raise your fist, and stand your ground

Go!

I've got a fever that I can't control

I'm knee-deep and I don't even know my name

I forgot about it.

I'm on fire, I'm a burning coal,

We can't fight it 'cause we never sold the flame,

Not for love or money.

[x2:]

Hey hey, you know we're never coming down

Hey hey, you know we're never coming down

Hey hey, you know we're never coming down

Hey hey, you know we're never coming down

Say when...

Say when...

We're never coming down

The revolution's in my head

You know we're never coming down

I've got a fever that I can't control

I'm knee-deep and I don't even know my name

I forgot about it.

I'm on fire, I'm a burning coal,

We can't fight it 'cause we never sold the flame,

Not for love or money.

Just say when,

Just say when,

Just say when,

Just say when,

Not for love or money

Yeah, we're never coming down

PS. There's nothing to emphasize here because the whole song is awesomely GOLDEN. Seek it out and give it a good listen, you won't be sorry!

"Gang Of Rhythm"

I got this old guitar
The strings are rusty
But it's all I need
Bring in the kick drum
It can back the beat
Let's gather 'round and sing a song
I got a shaker too
The kind of sound
That wants to make you move
Bring in the uke
We'll complete the groove
Let's gather round and sing a song

There's no worries on the earth tonight
We're all walkin' off the world tonight

Come on now everybody
Come on now everyone
We're like a locomotive
Under the big hot sun
We're chained to the gang of rhythm
The song is never done

Come on now everybody
Come on now everyone
Come on everyone

We got this melody
Bring in the harmonies like CSNY
To write a tune you know will never die
Let's gather round and sing a song

There's no worries on the earth tonight
We're all walkin' off the world tonight

Come on now everybody
Come on now everyone
We're like a locomotive
Under the big hot sun
We're chained to the gang of rhythm
The song is never done
Come on now everybody
Come on now everyone
Come on everyone

And when the night is done
These chains will hold us strong
The chords will carry on
Long after we're gone oh oh

There's no worries on the earth tonight
We're all walkin' off the world tonight

Come on now everyone yeah
Come now everyone
We're like like a locomotive
Under the big hot sun

Come on now everybody
Come on now everyone
We're like a locomotive
Under the big hot sun
We're chained to the gang of rhythm
The song is never done
Come on now everybody
Come on now everyone
Come on everyone

We got this melody
Come on everyone
Bring in the harmony
Come on everyone

I got this old guitar
The strings are rusty
But it's all I need...

And here's the current radio hit, you may have heard

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bt-FHaFVH8

This is the money for my theory that musicians, young or old, can channel some pretty awesome stuff.  This one reads to me like the earliest prophets of popular music from the 60's and 70's, specifically Pink Floyd and that oddball Billy Joel.

"Red Hands"

Oh yeah, oh yeah-ah, that gun is loaded

I know that I messed up a few times or watcha wanna call it
I know if I fell down, you'd change the way that I saw it
I put it on the line for this time only
(Is that what you really want?)

I can't see that I got red hands, I'm colorblind singing (day-oh)
Don't put the blame on me, child, the damn thing gone wild (day-oh)
Never wanted to be fooling you, can't believe I was ruining you-oo
(Is that what you really want?)

Oh yeah, oh yeah-ah, that gun is loaded

That gun is loaded, but it's not in my hand
That gun is loaded, but it's not in my hand
The fire burns, I'm not the one with the match, man
That gun is loaded, but it's not in my hand

Oh yeah, oh yeah-ah, that gun is loaded

I've seen it all before, you back out, and everything's changing
I needed something more, you stepped down, so what are you chasing?
I'd put it on rewind for this time only

(Is that what you really want?)

I realize that I got red hands, I wanna change this (day-oh)
Don't ask me why I choose to lie, I stay blind, oh (day-oh)
It's clear to me that you are fuming too, your accusations are burning through-oo

Oh yeah, oh yeah-ah, that gun is loaded

This is just the latest in an assault of modern musician work (c. 1960 onward) that I would like to share and discuss with y'all here.

Please contribute the music and/or lyrics that have inspired you to be here at TCP.

Thanks, Jt

Ooh, a music thread! I like it :D

For starters, how about Take That's Kidz song? I think that both the video and the lyrics speak for themselves :P

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlapv48d7VQ

Kings and queens and presidents
Ministers of governments
Welcome to the future of your world

Through talking heads that took liberties
The monkeys learned to build machines
They think they'll get to heaven through the universe

They say nothing, deny everything
And make counter accusations
My friends, my dear, my love, my God

There'll be trouble when the kidz come out
There will be lots for them to talk about
There'll be trouble when the kidz come out
When the kidz come out, when the kidz come out
When the kidz come out

Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, what you looking at?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, you want a bit of that?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, there will be trouble when the kidz come out
When the kidz come out, hey

Mirror, mirror on the wall
Who's the fairest of them all?
The good, the bad, the ugly or the beautiful

Because it's uphill and against the wind
With no one there to let us in
Leave your thoughts and save yourself, you fool

The daggers of science, evolving into violence
We're not sure where the fallout blows
But we all know

There'll be trouble when the kidz come out
There will be lots for them to talk about
There'll be trouble when the kidz come out
When the kidz come out, when the kidz come out
When the kidz come out

Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, what you looking at?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, you want a bit of that?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, there will be trouble when the kidz come out
When the kidz come out, hey

Out on the streets tonight
They're making peace tonight
They're making peace

There'll be trouble when the kidz come out
There will be lots for them to talk about
There'll be trouble when the kidz come out
When the kidz come out, when the kidz come out
There'll be trouble when the kidz come out

Another such inspiring song for me is Fall Out Boy's The Phoenix :)

The Phoenix

Put on your war paint!

You are a brick tied to me that’s dragging me down
Strike a match and I’ll burn you to the ground
We are the jack-o-lanterns in July setting fire to the sky
Here, here comes this rising tide so come on

Put on your war paint!

Cross walks and crossed hearts and hope to die
Seal the clouds with grey lining

So we can take the world back from a heart attack
One maniac at a time we will take it back
You know time crawls on when you’re waiting for the song to start
So dance along to the beat of your heart

Chorus:
Hey! Young blood doesn’t it feel
Like our time is running out.
I’m going to change you like a remix
Then I’ll raise you like a phoenix!

Wearing all vintage misery
No, I think it looked a little better on me.
I’m going to change you like a remix
Then I’ll raise you like a phoenix!

Bring home the boys in scraps scrap metal the tanks
Get hitched make a career out of robbing banks
Because the world is just a teller and we are wearing black
She broke our spirits with no impact

So we can take the world back from a heart attack
One maniac at a time we will take it back
You know time crawls on when you’re waiting for the song to start
So dance along to the beat of your heart

Chorus:
Hey! Young blood doesn’t it feel
Like our time is running out.
I’m going to change you like a remix
Then I’ll raise you like a phoenix!

Wearing all vintage misery
No, I think it looked a little better on me.
I’m going to change you like a remix
Then I’ll raise you like a phoenix!

Put on your war paint!

The war is won before it’s begun
Release the doves surrender love.
The war is won before it’s begun
Release the doves surrender love.

The war is won before it’s begun
Release the doves surrender love.
The war is won before it’s begun
Release the doves surrender love.

Chorus:

Hey! Young blood doesn’t it feel
Like our time is running out.
I’m going to change you like a remix
Then I’ll raise you like a phoenix!

Put on your war paint!

As for songs that inspired me despite them not having any (or barely any, in the case of the Audiomachine song) lyrics, I can show you these:

Mike Oldfield - Ascension (I don't want to flood with embedded videos so I'll omit the "http..." parts...  youtube.com/watch?v=Iq1C1g8OQJs  )

Audiomachine - The new Earth ( youtube.com/watch?v=x_1ZZR5oN4w )

Two Steps From Hell - Freedom Fighters ( youtube.com/watch?v=YJm6b-o2pTM )

That kidz video was awesome, thanks StarBird!

Here's something quite germane to TCP:  The moon, Selene, La luna...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fbkL0qPPqk

Pay no attention to the writing on the wall
The words seem empty cause there's nothing there at all
We let the wise men beat the drums too soon
We were just children of the moon

No one to turn to
Nowhere to run to even if we could
Too late to save us but try to understand
The seas were empty there was hunger in the land

We let the blind man lead the way too long
Easy to see where we went wrong
Nothing to live for
Nothing to die for
We're lost in the middle of a hopeless world
Lost in the middle of a hopeless world

Children children of the moon watch the world go by
Children children of the moon are hiding from the sun and the sky
Children children of the moon watch it all go by
Children children of the moon are blinded by the light in their eyes

No one to turn to
Nowhere to run to even if we could
Follow the pilgrim to the temple of the dawn
The altar's empty and the sacrifice is gone
We let the madmen write the golden rules
We were no more than mortal fools

Nothing to live for
Nothing to die for
We're lost in the middle of a hopeless world
Lost in the middle of a hopeless world
Children children of the moon watch the world go by
Children children of the moon hiding from the sky

I write this one up because it's a classic example of APP's obvious gnostic cognizance exhibited in their work - I mean the album title is Sirius and that was the logo!  And it is also a portion of the 'bad man's song' where the one reviled is lamenting their own folly, misgivings or misbegotten creations in persistent dominion over the world and its subjects.  This is similar to APP's other hit Eye In The Sky and more recently in Viva La Vida by Coldplay.  I know there are other lamentations in pop music, curiously sculpted and escalated to pop status with dubious frequency.

What's the message?  Feel sorry for your captors for they are captive, too?

A comment by kandescent to the CoEvolution thread, but it's loaded with transformative mojo, so reposting here:

I'm not making light of this, but here is another Xanadu reference-- the movie starring Olivia Newton-John. Here's a video of the title song. I've added the lyrics below.

Songwriters: VOORN, ORLANDO FIX
A place where nobody dared to go
The love that we came to know
They call it Xanadu
(It takes your breath and it'll leave you blind)

And now, open your eyes and see
What we have made is real
We are in Xanadu
(A dream of it, we offer you)

A million lights are dancing
And there you are, a shooting star
An everlasting world
And you're here with me eternally

Xanadu, Xanadu
(Now we are here)
In Xanadu
(Xanadu)

Xanadu, Xanadu
(Now we are here)
In Xanadu

Xanadu, your neon lights will shine
For you Xanadu

The love, the echoes of long ago
You needed the world to know
They are in Xanadu
(With every breath, you drift away)

The dream that came through a million years
That lived on through all the tears
It came to Xanadu
(The dream you dream, well it will happen for you)

A million lights are dancing
And there you are, a shooting star
An everlasting world
And you're here with me eternally

Xanadu, Xanadu
(Now we are here)
In Xanadu
(Xanadu)

Xanadu, Xanadu
(Now we are here)
In Xanadu
(Xanadu, Xanadu)

Now that I'm here
Now that you're near
In Xanadu

Now that I'm here
Now that you're near
In Xanadu, Xanadu

The Incredible Power of Music

The right songs can change the way we feel in an instant, as effective as the mood pills consumed in Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? - (Blade Runner)

http://sorendreier.com/the-incredible-power-of-music/

Thanks, T - excellent article.

The end of the cymatics video is amazing.  Reminds me of the original story behind the movie(s) The Day The Earth Stood Still, "Farewell to the Master".  The secret behind the movie/original story was that Gort/Gnut was actually the master on that Earth mission and that he had created Klaatu from sounds:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farewell_to_the_Master

Black Hole Sun-Soundgarden

lyrics here:

but more to the point

"some THOUGHTs have a certain SOUND, that being the equivalent to a FORM, through SOUND and MOTION......"

 Vespers Of Sophia  I quote:

C: For she was sent forth from the power, and she has come to those who reflect upon her, and she has been found among those who seek after her.

P: We shall not banish her from our sight, and we shall not make our voice hate her, nor our hearing. We will not be ignorant of her.

C: For she is the first and the last. She is the honored one and the despised one. She is the whore and the holy one. She is the wife and the virgin. She is the mother and the daughter. She is the barren one who yet has many sons. She is the one whose wedding is great, though she has not taken a husband.

P: She is the silence that is incomprehensible and the idea whose remembrance is frequent. She is the voice whose sound is manifold and the word whose appearance is multiple. She is the utterance of her name. "

Just my two bits here. The application of throat singing ( which the Inuit and Tibetans do) amplifies all sound and does appear to move through anything tyransforming its' internal structure ( Dr. Emotto only had part of it) and points directly to the weirding sound feq in Dune ( great movie). As a singer I can tell how when I hit the "right" note how my chakras respond and my light body also becomes strengthened and clarifies...

I wanted to share this fantastic story I caught the other night and I hope it fits here

Peter Roberts - Australia's only thanatologist

http://www.robertsmusic.net/NEW/intro.html

The story was fantastic for 2 reasons, the research being done by Peter and the dr's and hospital involved about how music can ease a soul while dying and being born (when Peter plays his Harp in the neonatal intensive care for the premmie babies their oxygen saturation rates become significantly higher) and Peter's own personal story.
He moved his whole family to America, gave up a prosperous business while he studied for 2 years an instrument he had never played before because his soul told him it wa the right thing to do. Now he plays the harp to people in pallaitive care so that their passage to death can be accompanied for as long as possible by the beautiful vibrations of music.

This is a link to the story I watched, I think you can view the episode from here or Peter's own site above.

And what about Bohemian Rhapsody

I found the Lyrics interesting after learning more about Gnostic teachings and the Saturn Theory

Real life of fantasy - Basic Gnostic / Hindu teachings

Look up to the sky = What do you see? Stars, nothing, the purple haze. it might help you determine where or when you are.

Perhaps it could be why it was so popular as it tapped into a subconscious "knowing" that we are, on the balance of probabilities in a holographic / dream reality,.

Is this the real life?

Is this just fantasy?

Caught in a landslide

No escape from reality

Open your eyes

Look up to the skies and see

I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy

Because I'm easy come, easy go

A little high, little low

Anyway the wind blows, doesn't really matter to me, to me

Mama, just killed a man

Put a gun against his head

Pulled my trigger, now he's dead

Mama, life had just begun

But now I've gone and thrown it all away

Mama, ooo

Didn't mean to make you cry

If I'm not back again this time tomorrow

Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters

Too late, my time has come

Sends shivers down my spine

Body's aching all the time

Goodbye everybody - I've got to go

Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth

Mama, ooo - (anyway the wind blows)

I don't want to die

I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all

I see a little silhouetto of a man

Scaramouch, scaramouch will you do the fandango

Thunderbolt and lightning - very very frightening me

Gallileo, Gallileo,

Gallileo, Gallileo,

Gallileo Figaro - magnifico

But I'm just a poor boy and nobody loves me

He's just a poor boy from a poor family

Spare him his life from this monstrosity

Easy come easy go - will you let me go

Bismillah! No - we will not let you go - let him go

Bismillah! We will not let you go - let him go

Bismillah! We will not let you go - let me go

Will not let you go - let me go (never)

Never let you go - let me go

Never let me go - ooo

No, no, no, no, no, no, no -

Oh mama mia, mama mia, mama mia let me go

Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me

for me

for me

So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye

So you think you can love me and leave me to die

Oh baby - can't do this to me baby

Just gotta get out - just gotta get right outta here

Ooh yeah, ooh yeah

Nothing really matters

Anyone can see

Nothing really matters - nothing really matters to me

Anyway the wind blows...

All is sound.

Off on a tangent I always found it interesting when they use the word sound to mean solid.

the ships hull was sound

a sound plan

sound asleep!

the house is of sound construction !!!  What! is it not bricks and mortar?

It suggests to me that this "dream" world is made of sound...

Maybe it is not just the sound Nick but the vibration the sound makes?

Quite correct Nick Z T , although we are being hindered in our development and our understanding of the messages being sent to us from the mother source.

Metaphorically were are in many ways deaf, or hard of hearing !

The timing of your post is uncanny, as i had been in conversation with a friend within hours of your post. Sync
