landdownunder 6,246 Report post Posted March 11, 2017 Video: Radioactive Boars Prevent Fukushima Residents from Returning Home March 10, 2017 at 5:03 pm Written by Anti-Media News Desk Source Link: http://theantimedia.org/video-radioactive-boars-fukushima/ (TA) The first footage of the wild radioactive boars that have come to dominate the abandoned streets of towns near the site of the 2011 disaster have emerged as government-led teams begin to cull the boar population to make way for the expected return of the towns’ former residents. For the last six years, the streets of the towns abandoned in the wake of the Fukushima disaster have been walked, not by people, but by wild, radioactive boars. After of the Fukushima the 2011 meltdown power plant, exclusion zones were set up around the plant and the populations of the towns within were evacuated to a safer distance, giving rise to Fukushima “ghost towns.” In the years since, hundreds upon hundreds of wild boars have come to roam the deserted streets, foraging for food. The highly radioactive boars have been reported to attack people when provoked and have become a major problem in the Japanese government’s efforts to prepare the towns for the eventual homecoming of its former, human residents. In the abandoned coastal town of Namie – just 2.5 miles from the site of the meltdown – residents are expected to return at the end of the month, meaning that the boars must be cleared. Tamotsu Baba, mayor of Namie, told the Mirror: “It is not really clear now which is the master of the town, people or wild boars.” The Japanese government has been sending in teams to “cull” the boars, which has also led the radioactive animals to be filmed and photographed for the first time. According to Baba, the need to eliminate the boars is urgent: “If we don’t get rid of them and turn this into a human-led town, the situation will get even wilder and uninhabitable.” The “culling” teams have been using cage traps and air rifles to reduce the boar population in Namie and three surrounding towns, including Tomioka where 800 boars have already been killed. Hundreds more boars have been captured since the program began and population control efforts are expected to continue well after residents return. However, not all residents will be returning. For example, well over half of Namie’s pre-disaster population of 21,500 have decided not to return home, according to a government survey conducted last year. These residents cited concerns over radiation and at the nuclear power plant the on-going safety issues as the main reason for their decision. by Whitney Webb / Creative Commons / True Activist / Report a typo Sponsored by Revcontent
breezy 39,231 Report post Posted March 24, 2017 Lethal radiation levels but no melted fuel found in Fukushima reactor water March 22, 2017 "Tainted water inside a reactor containment vessel at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant has shown a radiation level enough to kill a person within 40 minutes, according to TEPCO, the power plant's owner. The level of radiation was measured by a special robot on Sunday at a point about 30cm (one foot) from the bottom of the containment vessel of Reactor 1, the Japan Times reported on Tuesday. The current radiation level is 11 sieverts per hour, the highest detected in water inside the containment vessel. A person exposed to this amount of radiation would likely die in about 40 minutes, the Japan Times reports. Sunday’s probe also revealed sandy substances building up at the bottom of the vessel. Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings (TEPCO) officials, however, dismissed the idea that it might be melted nuclear fuel. Experts have been looking for the melted fuel, which they believe has been accumulating in tainted water. In March 2011, a 9.1 earthquake and the 15-meter tsunami that followed disabled the cooling system of Fukushima’s three reactors, causing the worst nuclear incident since the 1986 Chernobyl incident in Ukraine. TEPCO, which operates the crippled power plant, has been obliged to deal with the consequences of the incident." snip https://www.rt.com/news/381879-fukushima-reactor-radiation-lethal/
breezy 39,231 Report post Posted March 27, 2017 Nuke Engineer Fukushima ‘Worst Cataclysm Ever – Will Last 250,000 Years Fukushima Revisited - Dr. Michio Kaku - Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Facility Is A "Ticking Time Bomb" Interesting enough, this video is from Feb 17th. He mentions the release of massive quantities of Iodine 131. Isn't this about the same time it was being noted there were quantities of Iodine 131 being found in Norway, France, Poland, etc.?

breezy 39,231 Report post Posted August 25, 2017 Fukushima: robot images show massive deposits thought to be melted nuclear fuel from July 17, 2017 "Robot spots suspected debris of melted fuel for first time since 2011 earthquake and tsunami destroyed the plant Images captured by an underwater robot on Saturday showed massive deposits believed to be melted nuclear fuel covering the floor of a damaged reactor at Japan’s destroyed Fukushima nuclear plant. The robot found large amounts of solidified lava-like rocks and lumps in layers as thick as 1m on the bottom inside a main structure called the pedestal that sits underneath the core inside the primary containment vessel of Fukushima’s Unit 3 reactor, said the plant’s operator, Tokyo Electric Power Co. On Friday, the robot spotted suspected debris of melted fuel for the first time since the 2011 earthquake and tsunami caused multiple meltdowns and destroyed the plant. The three-day investigation of Unit 3 ended on Saturday. Locating and analysing the fuel debris and damage in each of the plant’s three wrecked reactors is crucial for decommissioning the plant. The search for melted fuel in the two other reactors has so far been unsuccessful because of damage and extremely high radiation levels." snip https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2017/jul/23/fukushima-images-show-massive-deposits-thought-to-be-melted-nuclear-fuel Apparently, they've been looking for 600 tons of missing, melted radioactive fuel..We didn't miss that I'm sure. 600 TONS OF MELTED RADIOACTIVE FUKUSHIMA FUEL IS MISSING IN JAPAN . . . https://fukushimaupdate.wordpress.com/2016/06/05/600-tons-of-melted-radioactive-fukushima-fuel-still-not-found/
unity 20,801 Report post Posted June 28, 2018 Tritium Filter Created Finally! https://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20180628-00050070-yom-sci The new technology was created by Kinki Uni to remove Tritium out of the water that came out of Fukushima nuke plant. So once that filtering is done, they WILL release the world cleanest water into the sea. Is the world going to zoom into French and British nuke plants that are releasing tritium containing water CONTINUOUSLY ALL THE TIME while everyone was just talking about Fukushima? I somehow doubt it. That's called DOUBLE STANDARD.
breezy 39,231 Report post Posted September 11, 2018 Fukushima is collapsing the worst is coming Naturally I'm not there, so no way to know if #4 is really this bad off, I hope not. We only have this planet to live on, and we currently have our own serious problems with nuclear plants, several of which are right now in the way of Hurricane Florence/No. Carolina.
