  1. Hugs Help Protect Against Stress and Infection Dec. 18, 2014 by Bidita Debnath "Could a hug-a-day keep the doctor away, instead of an apple? According to new research from Carnegie Mellon University, that may not be that far-fetched of an idea. Led by Sheldon Cohen, the Robert E. Doherty University Professor of Psychology in CMU's Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences, the researchers tested whether hugs act as a form of social support, protecting stressed people from getting sick. Published in Psychological Science, they found that greater social support and more frequent hugs protected people from the increased susceptibility to infection associated with being stressed and resulted in less severe illness symptoms. Cohen and his team chose to study hugging as an example of social support because hugs are typically a marker of having a more intimate and close relationship with another person. "We know that people experiencing ongoing conflicts with others are less able to fight off cold viruses. We also know that people who report having social support are partly protected from the effects of stress on psychological states, such as depression and anxiety," said Cohen. "We tested whether perceptions of social support are equally effective in protecting us from stress-induced susceptibility to infection and also whether receiving hugs might partially account for those feelings of support and themselves protect a person against infection." snip http://www.medindia.net/news/hugs-help-protect-against-stress-and-infection-145006-1.htm
  2. Courts in Europe have sentenced a baby to death. This is socialized medicine. Matt Walsh June 28, 2017 .TheSun.co.uk (video) "There’s a horrific case over in the U.K. that hasn’t gotten a ton of attention here, but it should. If we look closely, we may see our future — and our present. Charlie Gard is a 10-month-old baby who suffers from a rare genetic disorder called mitochondrial DNA depletion syndrome. It’s a horrendous condition that leads to organ malfunction, brain damage, and other symptoms. The hospital that had been treating the boy, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London, made the determination that nothing more can be done for him and he must be taken off of life support. He should “die with dignity,” they said. The parents, Chris Gard and Connie Yates, disagreed. This is the very crucial thing to understand: they are not insisting that GOSH be forced to keep Charlie on life support. Rather, they want to take him out of the hospital and to America to undergo a form of experimental therapy that a doctor here had already agreed to administer. Chris and Connie raised over $1.6 million to fund this last ditch effort to save their child’s life. All they needed the British hospital to do was release their child into their care, which doesn’t seem like a terribly burdensome request. They would then leave the country and try their luck with treatment here. However slim the chance of success may have been, it was better than just sitting by and watching their baby die. Here’s where things get truly insane and barbaric. The hospital refused to give Charlie back to his parents. The matter ended up in the courts, and, finally, in the last several hours, the European Court of “Human Rights” ruled that the parents should be barred from taking their son to the United States for treatment. According to the “human rights” court, it is Charlie’s human right that he expire in his hospital bed in London. The parents are not allowed to try and save his life. It is “in his best interest” to simply die "they ruled". In Europe, “Death with dignity” supersedes all other rights. In Europe, a mother may kill her baby but she is not allowed to keep him alive. Again: barbaric." snip http://www.theblaze.com/contributions/matt-walsh-courts-in-europe-have-sentenced-a-baby-to-death-this-is-socialized-medicine/ Pay attention everyone, we are facing the same things in the US, as are many other countries. 3. Seven of the Most Powerful Medicinal Plants Christine S. Dec. 31, 2014 "Anyone who has studied plants will not be surprising to learn that the majority of prescription drugs today owe their medicinal powers to some form of plant derivative. For most of human history, plants have been a sort of public pharmacy for people all over the world. Below are seven of the most powerful medicinal plants, along with a description of some of their healing properties. Cannabis Most people will be surprised to learn that up until the 1970’s, cannabis was legal in most of the United States – and it seems to be headed towards legality again. Studies have shown that use of this plant can help with conditions as diverse as depression and anxiety, high blood pressure, pain and even glaucoma. Lady Fern When crushed and applied to the skin, the juice from lady ferns is good for easing stings and insect bites as well as minor cuts and burns. Bracken, a much larger cousin of the lady fern, can achieve the same results for irritated skin. Tansy Used in Europe as least as far back as medieval times, tansy is an old-world remedy and general tonic. It can also be applied topically as a natural insect repellent or taken internal as a treatment for worms. Mint Forms of mint have been used by peoples all over the world for much the same conditions, including nausea, upset stomach and other digestive problems and to help with headaches, nervousness and fatigue. Alfalfa Known as “The Father of All Plants”, alfalfa can grow several feet tall and brings many health benefits. It is loaded with antioxidants and is an old-time treatment for ailments like morning sickness, nausea, kidney stones, and urinary discomfort. Sage It’s not just for stuffing anymore! This aromatic herb is loaded with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds. It can improve digestion which soothing muscle cramps, calming down bouts of diarrhea and can also help fight off colds and flus. Red Clover Red clover can be brewed into a tea which is great for settling down coughs and other symptoms of the common cold. It can also help detoxify the blood and make it easier for the body to rid itself of unwanted or harmful substances. In addition to this, it is also a traditional “women’s herb” to balance the hormones, especially for women going through menopause. These are just a few of the thousands of plants from all over the world that have been used from time immemorial for their healing properties. They have treated nearly every ailment that can plague the human body, from digestive problems to diabetes to cancer, and it is no surprise that more and more people are turning back to this age-old natural treatments to restore their health and well-being." http://blogs.naturalnews.com/seven-powerful-medicinal-plants/
  4. Scientists turn spinach leaf into working heart tissue Helena Horton March 25, 2017 Spinach is good for your heart CREDIT: WORCESTER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE "Researchers have managed to turn a spinach leaf into working heart tissue and are on the way to solving the problem of recreating the tiny, branching networks of blood vessels in human tissue. Until now, scientists have unsuccessfully tried to use 3D printing to recreate these intricate networks. Now, with this breakthrough, it seems turning plants with their delicate veins into human tissue could be the key to delivering blood via a vascular system into the new tissue. Scientists have managed in the past to create small-scale artificial samples of human tissue, but they have struggled to create it on a large scale, which is what would be needed to treat injury. Researchers have suggested that eventually this technique could be used to grow layers of healthy heart muscle to treat patients who have suffered a heart attack. 5. Functional nerve cells from skin cells May 21, 2014 These are mature nerve cells generated from human cells using enhanced transcription factors Credit: Fahad Ali A new method of generating mature nerve cells from skin cells could greatly enhance understanding of neurodegenerative diseases, and could accelerate the development of new drugs and stem cell-based regenerative medicine. The nerve cells generated by this new method show the same functional characteristics as the mature cells found in the body, making them much better models for the study of age-related diseases such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, and for the testing of new drugs. Eventually, the technique could also be used to generate mature nerve cells for transplantation into patients with a range of neurodegenerative diseases. By studying how nerves form in developing tadpoles, researchers from the University of Cambridge were able to identify ways to speed up the cellular processes by which human nerve cells mature. The findings are reported in the May 27th edition of the journal Development. Stem cells are our master cells, which can develop into almost any cell type within the body. Within a stem cell, there are mechanisms that tell it when to divide, and when to stop dividing and transform into another cell type, a process known as cell differentiation. Several years ago, researchers determined that a group of proteins known as transcription factors, which are found in many tissues throughout the body, regulate both mechanisms. snip http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2014/05/140521133708.htm
  6. CDC “Spider” Scientists Attack The CDC, Blow The Lid Off Jan. 15, 2017 Jon Rappoport "They write a letter to the CDC chief of staff … And I write a letter to them There is a group of anonymous scientists at the US Centers for Disease Control—they call themselves the Spider Group—Scientists Preserving Integrity, Diligence and Ethics in Research. They have penned a letter to the CDC’s chief of staff, Carmen S. Villar: Here is the explosive accusation they make: “We are a group of scientists at CDC that are very concerned about the current state of ethics at our agency. It appears that our mission is being influenced and shaped by outside parties and rogue interests. It seems that our mission and Congressional intent for our agency is being circumvented by some of our leaders. What concerns us most, is that it is becoming the norm and not the rare exception.” “Some senior management officials at CDC are clearly aware and even condone these behaviors. Others see it and turn the other way. Some staff are intimidated and pressed to do things they know are not right.” “We have representatives from across the agency that witness this unacceptable behavior. It occurs at all levels and in all of our respective units. These questionable and unethical practices threaten to undermine our credibility and reputation as a trusted leader in public health.” I have written at length about another whistleblower at the CDC, William Thompson, a long-time researcher who, in August of 2014, confessed in writing to massive fraud (archive here). He admitted that, in a study on the safety of the MMR vaccine, he and his colleagues literally threw vital sheets of data into a garbage can. The study then gave a free pass to the vaccine, claiming it had no connection to autism—when in fact it did. Thompson is the subject of the film, Vaxxed (trailer). (links to confession and archive below) https://jonrappoport.wordpress.com/2014/08/27/the-big-one-cdc-whistleblower-goes-public-now/ https://jonrappoport.wordpress.com/category/vaccinegate/ Now with this letter, we see that other scientists at the CDC are blowing the lid off internal corruption at their Agency. If, in fact, President-elect Trump gives the green light for an independent investigation of the CDC, as press outlets are now reporting, and if he appoints Robert Kennedy Jr. to head up that panel, as Kennedy claims, we are going to see a large number of hidden facts emerge from the secretive halls of the CDC. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/to-your-health/wp/2017/01/11/donald-trump-and-robert-f-kennedy-jr-just-made-pediatricians-jobs-a-lot-harder/?utm_term=.3e703e97fbe1cc https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-to-meet-with-proponent-of-debunked-tie-between-vaccines-and-autism/2017/ Because this Spider Group is anonymous, I wanted to make sure their letter is real. I contacted reporter Carey Gillam (twitter), who has been covering the story. I received this reply: “I was able to authenticate the letter by contacting CDC’s public affairs office and asking them directly about it after I received it from internal CDC sources.” http://www.careygillam.com/ You can read the full Spider Group’s letter here at US Right To Know. (More on the letter by Carey Gillam here.) https://usrtk.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/CDC_SPIDER_Letter-1.pdf http://www.huffingtonpost.com/carey-gillam/spider-bites-cdc-ethics-c_b_12525012.html And now I write a letter to them, so they can deepen their investigation. Dear Spider Group: I commend you on making an important start. You’re on the right road. As a reporter who has covered the CDC for many years, I offer you three suggestions. This short list is by no means exhaustive. I’m just pointing to a few areas where your own research will yield very rich and fertile results. ONE: SWINE FLU FRAUD. Let me take you back to the late summer of 2009, and the Swine Flu epidemic, which was hyped to the sky by the CDC. The Agency was calling for all Americans to take the Swine Flu vaccine. Remember? The problem was, the CDC was concealing a scandal. At the time, star CBS investigative reporter, Sharyl Attkisson, was working on a Swine Flu story. She discovered that the CDC had secretly stopped counting cases of the illness—while, of course, continuing to warn Americans about its unchecked spread. The CDC’s main job is counting cases and reporting the numbers. What was the Agency up to?" snip http://www.activistpost.com/2017/01/cdc-spider-scientists-attack-cdc-blow-lid-off.html
  7. ‘Forest bathing’ is latest fitness trend to hit U.S. — ‘Where yoga was 30 years ago’ Meeri Kim May 17, 2016 "Over thousands of years of human history, we have effectively become an indoor species. Particularly for those of us trapped in the cubicle life, often the only times we regularly step foot outside is for our daily work commute or to run errands. In 2001, a survey sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency found that, on average, Americans spend 87 percent of their time indoors and 6 percent in an enclosed vehicle. However, a number of scientific studies emphasize that reveling in the great outdoors promotes human health. Spending time in natural environments has been linked to lower stress levels, improved working memory and feeling more alive, among other positive attributes. In an effort to combat our indoor epidemic and reap these health benefits, a growing number of Americans have become followers of a Japanese practice called Shinrin-yoku. Coined by the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in 1982, the word literally translates to “taking in the forest atmosphere” or “forest bathing” and refers to the process of soaking up the sights, smells and sounds of a natural setting to promote physiological and psychological health. The increasing popularity of Shinrin-yoku, particularly in California, echoes the adoption of other east-to-west health trends, such as yoga and meditation. And like these activities, forest therapy can be a guided, paid-for experience or freely performed solo. “I think about where yoga was 30 years ago and where it is today, and I realize that forest therapy is making the same journey toward cultural definition in a way that will mainstream the practice,” said Ben Page, a certified forest therapy guide who founded Shinrin Yoku Los Angeles. He recently returned to his home in Southern California after training a cohort of forest therapy guides toward certification in Sonoma County — a week-long program popular enough to have a waiting list. Those that practice Shinrin-yoku explain that it differs from hiking or informative nature excursions because it centers on the therapeutic aspects of forest bathing." snip https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/to-your-health/wp/2016/05/17/forest-bathing-is-latest-fitness-trend-to-hit-u-s-where-yoga-was-30-years-ago/ Reminds me of grounding or earthing, but in a very all around beneficial way. 8. Feeling Woozy? It May Be Cyber Sickness November 14, 2015 Kate Murphy Ole Spata/European Pressphoto Agency "If you are watching computer-generated mayhem in the latest action film or scrolling rapidly on your smartphone, you may start to feel a little off. Maybe it is a dull headache or dizziness or creeping nausea. And no, it is not something you ate. A peculiar side effect of the 21st century is something called digital motion sickness or cybersickness. Increasingly common, according to medical and media experts, it causes a person to feel woozy, as if on a boat in a churning sea, from viewing moving digital content. “It’s a fundamental problem that’s been kind of been swept under the carpet in the tech industry,” said Cyriel Diels, a cognitive psychologist and human factors researcher at Coventry University’s Center for Mobility and Transport in England. “It’s a natural response to an unnatural environment.” Digital motion sickness, known among medical professionals as visually induced motion sickness, stems from a basic mismatch between sensory inputs, said Steven Rauch, medical director of theMassachusetts Eye and Ear Balance and Vestibular Center and professor of otolaryngology at Harvard Medical School. “Your sense of balance is different than other senses in that it has lots of inputs,” he said. “When those inputs don’t agree, that’s when you feel dizziness and nausea.” In traditional motion sickness, the mismatch occurs because you feel movement in your muscles and joints as well as in the intricate coils of your inner ear, but you do not see it. That is why getting up on the deck of a ship and looking at the horizon helps you feel better. But with digital motion sickness, it is the opposite. You see movement — like the turns and twists shown in a movie or video game car chase — that you do not feel. The result is the same: You may have sensory conflict that can make you feel queasy. It can happen to anyone, even if you are someone who is not prone to motion sickness in cars, boats or airplanes. Various studies indicate it can affect 50 percent to 80 percent of people, depending on the fidelity of the digital content and how it is presented." snip http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2015/11/14/feeling-woozy-it-may-be-cyber-sickness/?_r=0
  9. Espionage & Brain-Computer Interfaces Reverse Engineering The Technology - The Radar - Modern Warfare Series Deep_thought October 18, 2015 "In the technical overview of this article I discussed briefly the radar platform that is used to enable remote neural monitoring. Today, we will take a deeper dive into the technology and physics. From this information, we should get a good sense of the capabilities of a modern radar platform that most, even those who work with high-end gear in modern militaries, have probably never heard of, let alone operated. Radar Physics I'm not going to provide a tutorial on radar platforms. A site already exists that will provide a good overview of the various technologies and principles of operation. You can view that here: http://www.radartutorial.eu/index.en.html Modern radar platforms have come a long way since the days of providing basic range and altitude information. From complex anti-jamming capability, multiple beams to object identification and material analysis, modern military radars are some of the most complex technology to be found in operation today. The most advanced radars make use of a technique known as 'Atomic dielectric Resonance'. snip A New Radar With this new way of employing radio beams, we can now envisage a new way to construct a radar and given modern radar approaches, communication platforms. Rather than illuminate an entire area, we can used a single collaminated beam and scan an area to achieve the same effect. Even better, we can scan and produce real-time 3D imagery of underground tunnels, bases, cities, etc. Remote hacking of electronic devices and spot jamming of WIFI, or cellular phones, becomes straight forward. We can also place survivable communications kilometers below the Earth and still have it communicate with satellites. Even Mount Everest wouldn't block a signal and tracking a common house fly through a city would be trivial. Given the nature of a low power collaminated beam, most of the energy is returned via the path of delivery resulting in a very low probability of discovery. The big challenge in all of this is similar to laser technology, appropriate optics. Depending on the requirements, solutions come in many forms from meta-materials to electronically controlled plasmas. In this sense, optics and beam steering are most likely unified processes. From here, it is a matter of scaling it up to an array and iteratively improving upon components to reduce both form factor and power consumption. The end result is a mutli-role imagery/communications radar that can be driven as a software defined system and re-purposed as required on the fly. With such a platform, a single standard satellite can be developed all feeding back to a strong AI, which is connecting the dots in intelligence from all available sources. But what happens when we point such a radar at the human body? ADR allows us to bypass the traditional absorption of skin and tissue to deliver radio energy accurately to any portion of the body. Such delivery of energy causes neurons to be stimulated by the exact same principle that causes peripheral nerve stimulation in MRI. It also returns information in the reflected beam that can be used to decode neural activity. This is the technology that gives rise to Remote Neural Monitoring and the current US human experimentation program that is employing these radar to manipulate human thought processes and physical control the human body remotely. It should be crystal clear now that this technology is certainly a WMD. It doesn't take much to kill a human with such tech and a single satellite with 200-1000 beams would make a nuclear bomb seem like a potato gun in comparison. Whilst satellites are beyond many nations, tanks are not. A system such as this mounted to a tank can theoretically create an exclusion (read genocide) zone of 60km where no form of cover will provide protection for infantry. This is something well with the capabilities of many smaller nations. Given this, we require urgent political intervention to update the laws of war and Geneve conventions to ban the deployment of such technology in any capacity beyond read capability. http://deepthought.newsvine.com/_news/2015/10/18/34492106-espionage-brain-computer-interfaces-reverse-engineering-the-technology-the-radar-modern-warfare-series Tx Reddwolf Now I can't help but think of lots of incidences taking place, such as riots, etc.
  10. Woman becomes first person to get compensation for being ‘allergic to WiFi’ Oliver Whaeton September 1, 2015 "Rather than a Terminator-style battlefield, the war between robots and humans might be fought with… allergies. A French woman has won a landmark court case which has resulted in the government paying her €800 (£588) a month in disability allowance for three years. The reason? Martine Richard is apparently allergic to WiFi. Richard claims she has been forced to quit her job and move to a rural farm with no internet connectivity due to suffering from headaches, nausea and dizziness for years. Science claims that WiFi allergy (also known as electromagnetic hypersensitivity or EHS) doesn’t exist, but Richard is far from the first person to claim they suffer from it. What makes this case different is that Richard is the first person to have her ‘allergy’ recognised as a disability by the government." snip http://metro.co.uk/2015/09/01/woman-becomes-first-person-to-get-compensation-for-being-allergic-to-wifi-5370978/#ixzz3kkeZD3lQ As per unity's shout, and the thought that this is very important as all of us are exposed to WIFI on a daily basis. 11. Preface: About a year ago, or more, I intended to do a post about Copper. I got sidetracked and did not do it. My interest and curiosity regarding Copper came about as a result of the entity speaking about Copper in the "me tel u" thread on glp. For some reason, I felt what he was saying was very important, and that we should be paying attention. Then last year at the time our entity's fuse year interest was at the forefront and a subject of discussion, I found myself reading the entity's posts about Copper, once again, and felt it was trying to get through to me. Then I got motivated again, after reading a thread on copper and decided to finally do a thread for Chani, so a couple of the links included here, have come from glp. There were two instances in the thread where he mentions Copper. I will start with those two posts. He point blank told us that copper would keep us safe when gold would not. Now we seem to have all different kinds of mutating diseases, bacteria, and viruses. IS it possible we missed a very important message when reading his material? I think so. So here goes, and thanks for bearing with me. Entity's first post regarding coper (copper) 04/24/2008 helo 329307 me not know wordings 4 name me crystal use yor kwarts crystal good we crystal come from deep oceon farms we make crystal dust we ad magnet coper then heat become likwid then me can drink crystal likwid me not know what other student stil need lern or do not know if come here So right here, the entity is telling us that they added copper to their crystal liquid that they drank. Entity's second post regarding coper (copper) After being asked the question about the pope's bunker made of solid gold. [iD436171 (Truthsneaker)] But pope has a big, great bunker under Vatican. Surely with his army and infrastructure he will be OK. I hear the bunker is made of solid gold. 05/27/2008 helo truthsneaker if bunker was built with coper he wil survive helo truthsneaker me try xplain but u not lisen only think next question ok gold only good for alien gold not good 4 save human chemistry virusing element coper only safe 4 safe human only against al chemistry sufering this line time ok helo truthsneaker me xplain be4 on other screen alien use yor gold particle for shieldings yor gold no more yor leaders lie thers is no more gold in yor banks or knox very litel left if true al yor gold already give difrent alien specie for protection from 1944 yor line time as per contract your leaders make This post fascinated me, because of what he stated. Gold would not save us, but Copper would. Then went on to say that the only safe thing humans could use against all chemical suffering in our time line, was Copper. Then thinking further on this, wasn't 1944 just about the time the Atom bomb came into being? Did the "aliens" give us that technology for all our physical gold, that they would then use for their protection from our Atom bomb? Surely the particles from an Atom bomb explosion rise up into space from the sheer force of the explosion. Anyway, on to the importance of Copper for us in this time line. Metallic Copper as an Antimicrobial Surface "Bacteria, yeast and viruses are rapidly killed on metallic copper surfaces, and the term "contact killing" has been coined for this purpose." snip The oldest recorded medical use of copper is mentioned in the Smith Papyrus, one of the oldest books known. This Egyptian medical text, written between 2600/2200 B.C., describes the application of copper to sterilize chest wounds and drinking water.Greeks, Romans, Aztecs, and others also used copper or copper compounds for the treatment of such ailments as headaches, burns, intestinal worms, and ear infections and for hygiene in general." snip The use of copper in medicine became widespread in the 19th and early 20th centuries, and a variety of inorganic copper preparations were used to treat chronic adenitis, eczema, impetigo, scrofulosis, tubercular infections, lupus, syphilis, anemia, chorea, and facial neuralgia . The use of copper as an antimicrobial agent continued until the advent of commercially available antibiotics in 1932." snip http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3067274/ Very Very interesting scientific article. Just out of curiosity, does anyone recall brass or bronze doorknobs, or wonder about the mostly discontinued use of copper water piping in modern homes? Gee, wonder why!! Copper Kills Antibiotic-Resistant "Nightmare Bacteria" "NEW YORK, March 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Deadly bacterial infections are on the rise in American hospitals, as antibiotics are being overcome by germs known as carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE). While many antibiotics have failed to treat bacteria such as CRE, Antimicrobial Copper has been proven to continuously kill greater than 99.9% of bacteria* that cause healthcare acquired infections within two hours, including those resistant to antibiotics. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has warned that CRE—a strain of bacteria that kills up to half of the patients who are infected—is becoming more common. In the last decade, the proportion of Enterobacteriaceae that were carbapenem-resistant quadrupled from 1.2% in 2001 to 4.2% in 2011. "CRE are nightmare bacteria," CDC Director Dr. Tom Frieden said in a statement, according to CNN. "Our strongest antibiotics don't work and patients are left with potentially untreatable infections. Doctors, hospital leaders and public health must work together now to implement CDC's 'detect and protect' strategy and stop these infections from spreading." A Department of Defense study at three hospitals in the U.S. found that copper is capable of killing pathogens very effectively. In fact, Antimicrobial Copper and its alloys (e.g. brass and bronze) are registered with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as being able to kill greater than 99.9% of infection causing bacteria* within two hours of exposure." snip http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/copper-kills-antibiotic-resistant-nightmare-bacteria-197333411.html http://www.antimicrobialcopper.com/us.aspx http://www.antimicrobialcopper.com/us/scientific-proof.aspx A penny for your prions: Researchers study link between copper, mad cow disease "(PhysOrg.com) -- North Carolina State University researchers have discovered a link between copper and the normal functioning of prion proteins, which are associated with transmissible spongiform encephalopathy diseases such as Cruetzfeldt-Jakob in humans or "mad cow" disease in cattle. Their work could have implications for patients suffering from these diseases, as well as from other prion-related diseases such as Alzheimers or Parkinson's. Prion proteins, or PrPs, are commonly found in brain tissue and throughout the central nervous system. In humans or animals with prion diseases, these proteins deform and aggregate, creating clumps of PrPs that interfere with the nervous system's ability to function normally. A team of NC State physicists, led by Miroslav Hodak and Jerry Bernholc, has found that when PrPs bind with copper in the human body, their structure becomes more stable and less likely to misfold or aggregate. "We believe that a prion protein's normal function is to serve as a copper buffer in the human body, binding with copper ions and keeping those ions from damaging human tissue," Hodak says. "We wanted to determine whether this was the normal function of the prion, and then look at how that binding affected the prion's structure." snip http://phys.org/news165161592.html Copper pennies before 1982 were 95% copper. Aug 16, 2013 Glenda Taylor "Wearing copper bracelets for medicinal benefits has a long history, all the way back to ancient Egypt, reports the "Gale Encyclopedia of Alternative Medicine." You may find copper bracelets in health food stores and holistic healing centers today. Despite their popularity, scientific data backing up the claims of healing are lacking. For those who advocate the use of copper bracelets, proposed benefits focus on reducing joint inflammation and easing pain. Unless you have an allergy to the metal, a copper bracelet is unlikely to have detrimental side effects and you may be pleasantly surprised. Joint Stiffness The use of copper bracelets centers on reducing the joint pain and stiffness associated with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. For believers, this translates into more freedom of movement and joint flexibility. Although worn on the wrist, manufacturers report the bracelets are beneficial to stiff joints throughout the entire body." snip http://www.livestrong.com/article/101854-benefits-wearing-copper-bracelets/ and another one Are There Health Benefits to Wearing Copper Jewelry? "Copper jewelry is sometimes sold with claims of health benefits such as improving the skin or alleviating the pain of arthritis. Copper has a long history of use in the realm of health, and modern science has confirmed many of its beneficial properties. Many people have experienced relief from medical conditions as a result of wearing copper jewelry, which is sometimes magnetized as well. However, the effectiveness of copper jewelry has not been scientifically proven, and detractors believe that it is not the best way to reap the health benefits of copper. Copper has been used to promote health in various ways since ancient times. The ancient Egyptians used it to purify water for drinking, and cultures around the world used it as a form of medicine for such afflictions as sore throat, eye infections, and skin conditions. It was also applied to wounds to prevent infection. In the modern era, copper was discovered to have anti-microbial properties which made it well suited for its ancient uses. Copper can be used on surfaces or woven into fabrics to prevent the spread of bacteria." snip http://www.wisegeek.com/are-there-health-benefits-to-wearing-copper-jewelry.htm What other ways could we use copper to our benefit? How about earthing, or grounding while we sleep? Just remember to attach your copper sheeting on your bed to a copper wire, then to a stake outside pushed into the ground. Or how about making a copper pad to put your feet on while sitting at the computer? Again remembering to attach the copper to a copper wire attached to a stake into the ground. Copper sheeting, copper mesh, wiring, are all available on the web. Now what country is buying up the copper mines worldwide? Does it make you wonder what they know that we don't? That would be China. You can do a search. In Tibet, Peru, US, Australia, they are not missing a beat. Meanwhile the rest of us just sit and watch. China and Copper: Inextricably Linked on the World’s Markets April 14, 2014 By Teresa Matichi "China has long been enamoured with the red metal. The world market is tightly tied to demand from the Asian nation as any signal of a change in its appetite for copper is usually a fundamental factor in price changes; however, China could soon be able to meet its own needs. Case in point; a recent earthquake8 in Chile near mines in the world’s top copper-producing nation did little to budge the markets in early April, but Chinese Premier Li Keqiang’s statement9 that the country will not use short-term stimulus to help economic growth supported worries about easing copper demand while copper prices dropped last Tuesday. Over the next two days, uninspiring economic growth from China caused the metal to cautiously rise, a change that illustrates how closely the metal’s weather vane sways with the wind of perceived Chinese demand." snip http://copperinvestingnews.com/18863-china-and-copper-inextricably-linked-on-the-worlds-markets.html Please feel free to add any information you may have regarding copper and how important it is to us all, especially as an antimicrobial agent, or as a protection from bacteria or viruses. 12. On December 10th 2014, here in Australia, we woke up one day to alarming headlines stating that a child had been killed drinking Raw Milk and 4 others were seriously ill. http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/toddler-dies-four-children-seriously-ill-after-drinking-raw-cows-milk-20141210-124lx8.html Some other titles included: "Killer Milk: Health Alert after children struck down!" I have to admit, this story scared me, we had been drinking raw milk from a beautiful, organic dairy farm from the next town. My youngest son (who is 16 months) suffers with terrible eczema which is aggravated by certain foods, namely dairy, gluten and soy BUT he could tolerate raw, organic A2 milk. In fact, it actually seemed to help him. His skin was much better since drinking it, his immune system thrived. Also, before making the decision to consume it, I read up on facts regarding risk and found that there was a higher chance of dying from food poisoning eating out, driving or even swimming than consuming raw milk and that the benefits (for my family) far outweighed the risks. I followed the story and cautiously watched and waited. Soon, later developments emerged, the boy had cancer which put a whole different perspective on the situation. This was revealed by the Victorian Alliance for Raw Milk, and later confirmed in snippets by the media that the child had a serious illness (after they reported that he simply died from drinking raw milk) The coroner report had not been received (I cannot find info regarding cause of death anywhere) Some problems I have with this story are as follows: Cause of death not confirmed by coroner The milk had been regularly tested and the health department tested the milk during the scandal and all came back negative None of the identities of the children have been released, none of the parents have spoken out so we are running on the assumption that these events are true from media reports without names or knowing that they actually occurred. Big Dairy is a HUGE industry in Australia and recently smaller, organic dairy's have been taking matters into their own hands selling their milk within the law labelled as cosmetic use only. This has gained momentum and many people are moving away from BIG dairy and choosing to consume local products. So now, without a coroner report confirming the child died from consuming raw milk, new laws have been put in place to completely ban the sale of raw milk including for cosmetic purposes. If a Farmer insists on selling it, they need to put a bittering agent (anti freeze) to stop people drinking it. I am feeling very misled, like our rights have been taken away. I am scared of how powerful media reports are and the way they can brainwash so many people. Luckily for me, our local organic dairy is offering a pasteurised milk at low temps that is unhomogenised. This is better than nothing, but something to do with the heating means my little man cannot drink it. I know that in other parts of the world, raw milk consumption is legal. 13. Researchers may have found a new antibiotic that bacteria will not become resistant to for decades, according to a new study. The discovery came not in a lab, but in soil from Maine, using a little-known device that’s “generating excitement.” Dr. Kim Lewis, director of Northeastern University’s Antimicrobial Discovery Center, sought to find a new source of antibiotics other than synthesizing them in a lab. So he and Slava Epstein, a biology professor at the same Boston, Massachusetts school, headed into “a grassy field in Maine,” Lewis told reporters during a Tuesday conference call. They took a soil sample, which yielded teixobactin, the previously undiscovered antibiotic. The journal Nature published their research on Wednesday. Snip <%50 of article. 14. As a preface, recently I read and posted an article that created a bit of concern in my mind. I recalled another article read a few years ago on the same subject that stated this was going to become a huge problem. Then in chat last night a discussion ensued about BSE, or Bovine Spongiform Encepholopathy and when I went looking for more information, I was purely horrified at what I had found. Thus this post has come about. Not to frighten anyone, but mostly to inform anyone who doesn't really know much about it. The article I posted was this one Brazil confirms second case of atypical mad cow disease http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/05/10/us-brazil-madcow-idUSKBN0DQ0J020140510 posted here http://forums.thechaniproject.com/topic/4130-new-diseases-humananimal-a-record/page-39 What concerned me was this word ATYPICAL, meaning, that the infection did not come to those cows in the normal way, but in a totally different manner. Scary. These were grass fed cows. Organic iow. I will throw out a couple did you knows here about BSE It is also known as CJD or Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease The most common misdiagnosis of CJD is Alzheimer's disease. The disease is virtually 100% fatal It causes memory loss, emotional instability including inappropriate outbursts, an unsteady gait, progressing to marked weakness, severe rapidly progressive dementia and death, often within a year of the onset of symptoms. It is caused by a prion, which is neither a virus nor a bacteria. Prions are proteins that contain no DNA or RNA. Incubation period may be as long as 20-40 years. BSE is extremely resistant to high temperatures; it is unaffected by radiation, laboratory solvents and bleaches. In other words, it appears to be virtually indestructible. The UK has been severely affected. Germany, Italy and many other countries have also been affected. You know, of course what rendering is, correct? Well, this is how it goes these days, I quote from the linked article. "Rendering is a $2.4 billion-a-year industry. "There is simply no such thing in America as an animal too ravaged by disease, too cancerous, or too putrid to be welcomed by the embracing arms of the renderer. In addition to diseased farm animals, the city of Los Angeles sends some two hundred tons of euthanized cats and dogs to a rendering plant every month. Added to the blend are the euthanized catch of animal control agencies and roadkill " according to Howard Lyman, a cattle rancher for 40 years. This is the food fed to the animals that YOU EAT!" MAD COW DISEASE WHAT THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT TELLING YOU! Lorraine Day, M.D. http://www.drday.com/madcow.htm This is a very informative article on the subject of BSE or CJD and it is something we should all be aware of. It does not affect just cows/beef. I can't help but wonder what they did with all those pigs that died from a virus recently here in the US. We all know that the FDA and USDA is complicit in a lot of bad things to do with our food. OH and I don't care that this Dr. talks about God, on her site, that doesn't change the facts as presented. In my book, anytime we are not told the whole truth about something, it becomes a conspiracy. 15. and the Surprising Ways They Can Boost Your Health Different species of mushrooms have valuable benefits. July 7, 2014 Shiitake mushroom Photo Credit: successo images "Understanding how food interacts with our bodies and the role it plays in healing various health conditions can be helpful. Whether food is used as part of a medical treatment or a prevention-focused diet, knowledge is power. Though some may disregard medicinal food, medical researchers have proven how prescriptive diets have been used to minify health risks. One such functional food is mushrooms. There are currently 38,000 discovered and classified species of mushrooms that hold medicinal benefits. In the last two decades there has been widespread interest in the role of the immune system for maintaining good health. According to a study on medicinal mushrooms, diseases related to immune dysfunction “such as cancer, chronic fatigue syndrome, AIDS/HIV, hepatitis and autoimmune conditions” are gaining wide attention from medical researchers and clinicians. As a result, practitioners are looking to mushrooms for their medicinal effects on the immune system. The immune-strengthening benefits of certain fungi and their extracts have even shown to have an anti-cancer effect. While research foundations such as Cancer Research UK confirm that there is no evidence that mushrooms or mushroom extracts can prevent or cure cancer, specific fungi can prolong and improve the lives of cancer patients, as well as enhance their recovery process." snip http://www.alternet.org/personal-health/5-types-medicinal-mushrooms-and-surprising-ways-they-can-boost-your-health
  16. Hey guys I have been thinking of doing this for a while now and I know it will be tough.... for those who don't know what Dry July is, its basically a month (31days) of no drinking so people can raise money for cancer. Even if you don't raise any money its just great for health and well being. I was thinking we could start a Chani group for Dry July, could support each other through this harsh month of non-drinking. For me I know it will be very hard since I drink quite a lot but I am wanting to change this! SO what are your thoughts? http://au.dryjuly.com/
  17. How to Stop Absorbing Other People’s Energy Without Realizing It March 2, 2014 HJ: We humans are like emotional sponges (especially if you are empathic) and we absorb the energy of other people, often without realizing it. This is definitely something to become aware of, however, the even bigger problem is that because we don’t realize it, we often think these emotions are our own. When this happens, we take on the baggage and distress of other people and this just adds confusion and unnecessary suffering into our lives. But it doesn’t have to be this way… It is possible to become aware of ‘what’s yours and what’s theirs’ and to stop accepting other people’s emotions… permanently. snip This article will show you how to do just that. It outlines simply and beautifully 8 steps (plus extra tips) on how to clearly delineate between your own energy and the energy of others and most importantly, to stop absorbing it! So do yourself a favor and read up, because this article has the potential to transform your life… - Truth How to Stop Absorbing Other People’s Emotions Dr.Judith Orloff Emotions such as fear, anger, frustration, and immobility are energies. And you can potentially “catch” these energies from people without realizing it. If you tend to be an emotional sponge, it’s vital to know how to avoid taking on an individual’s negative emotions, or even how to deflect the free-floating negativities in crowds. Another twist is that chronic anxiety, depression, or stress can turn you into an emotional sponge by wearing down your defenses. Suddenly, you become hyper-attuned to others, especially suffering with similar pain. That’s how empathy works; we zero in on hot-button issues that are unresolved in ourselves. From an energetic standpoint, negative emotions can originate from several sources: what you’re feeling may be your own; it may be someone else’s; or it may be a combination. Here is how to tell the difference and strategically bolster your positive emotions so you don’t shoulder negativity that doesn’t belong to you. 1. Identify whether you’re susceptible. The person most likely to be overwhelmed by negative energies surrounding you is an “empath”, someone who acts as an “emotional sponge”. cont'd 2. Seek the source. First, ask yourself whether the feeling is your own or someone else’s. It could be both. If the emotion such as fear or anger is yours, gently confront what’s causing it on your own or with professional help. If not, try to pinpoint the obvious generator. cont'd 3. Give yourself some distance Distance yourself from the suspected source, where possible. cont'd 4. Center yourself by concentrating on your breath. Center yourself by concentrating on your breath. Doing this connects you to your essence. cont'd 5. Flush out the harm. Flush out the harm. Negative emotions such as fear frequently lodge in your emotional center at the solar plexus (celiac plexus). cont'd 6. Shield yourself. Shield yourself. cont'd 7. Manage the emotional overload. You don’t need to be beholden to your ability to absorb other’s emotions; turn the curse into a gift by practicing strategies that can free you: cont'd 8. Look for positive people and situations. Call a friend who sees the good in others. Spend time with a colleague who affirms the bright side of things. cont'd TIPS cont'd Warnings cont'd Judith Orloff MD is bestselling author of the new book Emotional Freedom: Liberate Yourself From Negative Emotions and Transform Your Life (Three Rivers Press, 2011) upon which these tips and article are based. FDA tests find very low levels of arsenic in rice Source: http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/09/06/arsenic-rice-low-levels-fda/2771903/ "In tests for arsenic in more than 1,300 samples of rice and rice products, the Food and Drug Administration has found levels vary but overall are far too low to cause any immediate or short-term adverse health effects. The results, out Friday, represent the first time FDA has released broad numbers on arsenic's presence in rice products. The findings show the highest average levels in brown rice, the lowest in rice wine. The brown rice had 160 parts per billion inorganic arsenic per serving, infant rice cereal 120 and rice wine 11."
