Kayfabe

In professional wrestlingkayfabe /ˈkfb/ is the portrayal of staged events within the industry as "real" or "true," specifically the portrayal of competition, rivalries, and relationships between participants as being genuine and not of a staged or predetermined nature of any kind. Kayfabe has also evolved to become a code word of sorts for maintaining this "reality" within the direct or indirect presence of the general public.[1]

Kayfabe is often seen as the suspension of disbelief that is used to create the non-wrestling aspects of promotions, such as feuds, angles, and gimmicks, in a manner similar to other forms of fictional entertainment. In relative terms, a wrestler breaking kayfabe during a show would be likened to breaking character by an actor on-camera. Also, since wrestling is performed in front of a live audience, whose interaction with the show is crucial to its success, kayfabe can be compared to the fourth wall in acting, since there is hardly any conventional fourth wall to begin with. In general anything shown on a professional wrestling show is to some extent scripted, or "Kayfabe", even though at times they try to present it as legitimate.

Check out the latest Tweet.....I had to separate myself from getting sucked into the ridiculousness and put my "Conspiracy Theory Hat" back on - and wonder WHAT we are being distracted from with this

I think it's a long-standing meme, used by others and used brilliantly in this case. He even built up to it with his tweets yesterday.

It's a work. It's a take-down.

People don't like his actions, but as he said

IMG_2612.PNG

Honestly, I'm not mad at him. I have fun at work too. To the extent that we believe a president cannot participate in and advance pop culture, in addition to having a sense of humor, then we really are in trouble. Also, he's breaking down the idea that our president is some monarch anointed from on high.

I probably wouldn't make his choices for myself. But what it's showing me is that our country really wants a paper cutout clone puppet for president every four years. Not under Trump's watch.

To be clear, I'm not necessarily a Trump supporter, but have been turned into sounding like one, and like a Trump apologist, because of the irrational, reactive behavior of half the country.

Plus I do think he's brilliant, if not manipulative. And I always marvel at the manifestations of a brilliant mind.

Another chess move?  Buzz Aldrin certainly did not look happy so it would appear he was not made aware of the total content of the speech until it actually happened.

My personal opinion is that Buzz Aldrin's exaggerated facial expressions don't have a lot to do with whatever is being said. Of course, I have no proof, but the way his face is moving, it appears to be some kind of facial tics, or Tourettes, or something neurological like that. He also seems to drift off in terms of his attention at times and then drift back in suddenly. This is just my perspective from dealing with someone with dementia.

My thoughts exactly Kande. It almost looks as if he's having a conversation with someone in his head.  I've never seen him do this before in other interviews. Perhaps whatever illness he contracted in Antarctica where he was subsequently quarantined had some lasting neurological effects.

CGI's Liam77: Putin: Trump different in real life than on TV, We can Restore Relations with US

Posted By: RumorMail [Send E-Mail]
Date: Saturday, 8-Jul-2017 12:28:18

From CGI member Liam77:

CGI is RMN's readers forum.

https://eraoflight.com/2017/07/08/putin-trump-meeting/

The Donald Trump seen on television is different from the one in real life, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the G20 summit, adding that after his meeting with the US leader in Hamburg, he felt like relations between the two countries could at least partially be restored.

“As for personal relations, I think that they are established,” Putin said of his Friday meeting with Trump.

“The Trump we see on TV is very much different from the real person.”

“I think that if we continue building our relations like during our conversation yesterday, there are grounds to believe that we’ll be able to – at least partially – restore the level of cooperation that we need,” Putin said.

Putin said that the issue of alleged Russian meddling in the US election was addressed by Trump during their conversation.

Putin reiterated that there is no reason to believe that Russia meddled in the US electoral process in 2016.

“He [Trump] asked many questions on that subject. I answered those questions as best I could. I think he took it into consideration and agreed with me, but you should really ask him how he feels about it,” the Russian president said.

Regarding cybersecurity, the Russian leader said that he and Trump “agreed that there should never be a situation of uncertainty, especially in the future, in this sphere.”

“The US president and I agreed that we’ll create a working group and work together on how to jointly monitor security in cyberspace, how to ensure unconditional compliance with international legal norms, and how to prevent interference in internal affairs of foreign countries,” Putin said.

“If we manage to organize this work – and I have no reasons to doubt that – then there will be no more speculation on this topic [of Russia meddling],” he added.

Speaking on the allegations of Moscow’s interference in the affairs of foreign countries, Putin blamed the foreign media for doing exactly that in Russia.

“If you analyze the German, French and European media, in general – they’re the ones who are constantly meddling in our internal affairs. But we feel confident and it doesn’t bother us,” he explained.

The situation in Syria was also addressed during the press conference, with Putin saying the new US administration had a “more pragmatic” stance on the issue.

“I think the [US] position became more pragmatic. It doesn’t seem to have changed drastically [compared to the Obama administration], but there’s an understanding that we can achieve a lot by joining forces,” he said.

This approach by Washington made possible the agreement on the southern de-escalation zone in Syria, which was “one of the breakthroughs” during Friday’s talks with Trump, the Russian president added.

Putin stressed the importance of the de-escalation zones for maintaining the territorial integrity of the Syrian state after the conflict.

The de-escalations zones “should become a prototype of such territories, which would be able to cooperate with each other and with the official [government in] Damascus,” he explained.

The Russian president addressed comments by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and other Washington officials, who insisted that the Syrian conflict would be not be solved while President Bashar Assad remains in power.

“Mr Tillerson is a very respected person and the bearer of a Russian order. He has been decorated with the Order of Friendship. We love and respect him. But he’s not a Syrian citizen, after all, and the future of Syria and the political future of President Assad should only be determined by the Syrian people,” he said.

Bad news Angela? Merkel with her head in her hands over chat with Trump as G20 heats up
Vickie Oliphant    July 8, 2017

"DONALD Trump is known for his off-the-cuff comments but a photo from today’s G20 summit shows he may have gone one step too far for Angela Merkel.

Pictured with a stricken face and eyes wide open in despair, the German Chancellor is clearly in shock as she listens to the US President talk following a meeting at the event in Hamburg this afternoon.

The billionaire business man seems none the wiser at first, gesticulating widely as he carries on chatting to fellow heads of state.

But a second image shows Ms Merkel in a more fragile state, with her head in her hands as she stands among her allies."

It looks as if Mr Trump may have made another bizarre comment     EPA

The US President is seen looking down at his political rival with confusion and concern, while other politicians stand around without a reaction.

Donald Trump is likely to play a huge part of discussions during the two-day summit in one of Germany’s largest cities, after the US pulled out of the Paris climate change agreement."

This is such a ridiculous interpretation of a photo, I don't even know how their editors let them print it. But it is Express, so that explains it. They seem to like to do this type of thing.

I can't find any video of that moment to get better context. Imo, it's not from the time when they were also talking to Macron because he's not in the picture. And the people in the background are totally different.

But a second image shows Ms Merkel in a more fragile state, with her head in her hands as she stands among her allies."

I don't see any fragility from Merkel in the photo. Trump also doesn't look confused. He actually looks like he's in the middle of saying something.

Of course people will go around repeating this with no basis or knowledge of what was being discussed.

@kande  Merkle, like many others, knows Trump isn't going to kowtow to what she dictates, and has a problem dealing with that fact. Which is her problem, not his, and her actions, as a "world leader" kind of surprised me..  Fragile is not a word I'd use to describe her, but she would be an ideal opponent in a high stakes poker game, (which in a way, the G 20 is) because if she can't control her reactions any better than that, she'll lose every time, and Trump is savvy enough to have gotten that message from her when they interacted, no matter what they were discussing. She was also caught rolling her eyes when they spoke, none of which bodes well for her, as her actions, seem to undermine her faith in her own power on the world stage. Perhaps lessons in keeping a "poker face" in any circumstance, might serve her well?

@breezy All of that makes some sense. I'm just saying they could be talking about anything. Like how Trump's cat jumped on the table, knocking the tea over onto his iPad. My supposing that seems just as ridiculous as what the article is suggesting. I don't think Merkel is a dope either. And yes, I would think she would and does have a poker face, considering her experience and, particularly, in that setting. That's why I think it's a non-issue, or that they weren't speaking on anything of importance.

It was a set up.....

THE PLOT THICKENS=> Russian Lawyer Who Met with Trump Team Denied US Visa, Entered with Special Permission

As previously reported, on Saturday The New York Times published another hit piece on the Trump Campaign and a meeting with Russia.

The bottom feeders at The New York Times got another anonymous tip from deep state officials that revealed Trump insiders met with a Russian lawyer to discuss adoptions from Russia.

–And Deep State officials leaked this to the NY Times.

The group that organized the meeting with Trump advisers and the Russian lawyers was the same Democratic group Fusion GPS that was behind the discredited Trump dossier, according to a report fromCirca News.

The plot thickens! The lawyer who met with the Trump team was denied a U.S. visa to enter, however; she received special permission to enter the United States after filing an affidavit in a Federal case in New York.

I almost begin to feel as though we in the US need to declare our independence from Russia and all the fake news about the Trumps and Russia collusion for which there's no evidence or proof of.  This false flap between the Russian lawyer and Jr. has to do with the law passed regarding not allowing Americans to adopt Russian children and getting that law set aside. Putin signed the law in 2012,  link:  http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/28/world/europe/putin-to-sign-ban-on-us-adoptions-of-russian-children.html    I have to wonder if this had anything to do with pedophilia, as human rights were mentioned.

In any case, one can almost read the link addresses alone and see where this appears to be going.  I just wonder when those responsible will be held responsible, if ever.  Such utter nonsense and wasted time.

To me, it's just politics, as usual.  It sucks all over the place.

Are Donald Trump Jr.'s Emails Evidence of a "Smoking Gun"?

Quote

GLENN GREENWALD: Right. And there's, I think, a lot more lawyers and a lot more campaign finance lawyers who have said that just getting information about a candidate would not constitute something of value. But let's assume that that's true. Let's take that theory as though it's true. Why doesn't it also apply then to the person working for Democrats who went to Moscow and got something of value, namely information about Trump, from Kremlin-connected people in Moscow, or Democrats, including someone working for the DNC, who got something of value from Ukrainian officials? Why isn't that the same thing?

The whole meeting was a set up...

Report: Lynch Tapped Manafort's Phone During Trump Jr. Meeting With Russian Lawyer

According to a tweet by former Massachusetts Trump campaign official James Brower and first reported by independent journalist and author Jack Posobiec, former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort's phone was tapped by former Attorney General Loretta Lynch during the now infamous meeting with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya - who was let into the United States under "extraordinary circumstances" by Obama's DOJ, headed by Lynch.

The meeting included Donald Trump Jr., Manafort, Jared Kushner, Natalia Veselnitskaya, and Fusion GPS associate Rinat Akhmetshin - a Russian-American lobbyist who confirmed today that he was present during the June 2016 sit-down.

The meeting was arranged by another Fusion GPS associate, Rob Goldstone - in what is looking more and more like a deep-state setup to justify FISA wiretapping warrants. Of note, Veselnitskaya is publicly anti-Trump.

Fusion GPS, the firm behind the discredited 35 page Trump-Russia 'dossier,' was co-founded by Glenn Simpson, who abruptly canceled his testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee next week in light of recent events linking the democrat opposition research firm to a second attempt to take down the Trumps.

Bill Allocates $1.6 Billion for Trump’s Border Wall

Bill Allocates $1.6 Billion for Trump’s Border Wall

The House Appropriations Committee on Tuesday released a bill allocating $1.6 billion to begin construction of a physical barrier along the U.S. border with Mexico, one of President Trump’s central campaign promises.

The bill funding the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for fiscal year 2018 also negates one of Trump’s central promises, that Mexico would pay for the construction of the wall.

“Keeping Americans safe by protecting our homeland is a top priority. This funding bill provides the resources to begin building a wall along our southern border, enhance our existing border security infrastructure, hire more border patrol agents, and fund detention operations,” said House Appropriations Homeland Security Subcommittee Chairman John Carter.

Earlier in the day, DHS spokesman David Lapan said that the requested funding would be crucial to moving the project beyond current repairs, replacements and prototype projects.

“On the DHS side it’s clear that we’ve gotten a direction to secure the southern border, that a wall and barrier is part of that process along with people and technology and that funding from Congress is required for us to move forward on that,” he said.

Conservative lawmakers in recent days had begun warning that they would pull their votes from a budget and spending plan that failed to fund the wall.

House Freedom Caucus Chairman Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) went so far as to tell Breitbart News that Trump would not sign a spending measure if a wall were not funded, though the White House has not commented on the matter.

The bill's accompanying report, to be released next week, will specify where the segments of the wall are to be built and their associated funding.

In total, the bill allocates $13.8 billion to customs and border protection. That includes the $1.6 billion for the wall, $100 million to hire 500 more Border Patrol agents, $131 million for new border technology, $106 million for aircraft and sensors and $109 million for "non-intrusive inspection equipment."

It also adds $619.7 million to Immigration and Customs Enforcement over current levels, bringing total funding for ICE to $7 billion.

This just in.  Profits profits profits galore?

On July 10, the New York Times revealed that the Trump White House had recruited Erik Prince, the founder of the notorious private security firm Blackwater, and wealthy Trump backer Steve Feinberg, the owner of the high-profile military contractor DynCorp International, to “devise alternatives to the Pentagon’s plan to send thousands of additional troops to Afghanistan.” The story suggested that the president and his top advisers were dissatisfied with the military’s thinking on the conflict, the subject of an intense series of a consultations between senior military officers and Trump’s national security team over the last several months.
