Major anti-Orban demo in Hungary

April 14, 2018   Peter Murphy

snip   image

"Budapest (Hungary) (AFP) - Tens of thousands of Hungarians thronged Budapest on Saturday in anger at strongman Prime Minister Viktor Orban's crushing re-election victory.

The crowd, around 100,000 strong according to organisers and AFP reporters, marched through the city centre in sunshine to parliament for a rally under the motto "We are the majority".

"We want to live in a state of law, where checks and balances are present.. We want to live in a real democracy," said protest organiser Viktor Gyetvai, 20, a student.

"If the demands are not met then we cannot live in this country, this is our last chance to do something for this country," he told AFP."

Japan Protesters Call for ‘Liar’ Abe to Resign Over Scandal

April 14, 2018    Andy Sharp

"Prime minister has denied involvement in controversies
Tens of thousands of people joined a demonstration outside Japan’s parliament Saturday, in a sign of growing public anger over cronyism scandals engulfing Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Organizers say about 50,000 people attended this weekend’s rally in Tokyo -- the biggest in nearly three years. Protesters, many young, held up signs calling Abe a “liar” and seeking his resignation.

The prime minister has been forced in parliament to deny his involvement in two controversies over land deals to close associates. An alleged cover-up over the activity of Japanese troops during the Iraq war is also casting a cloud over his government. A spokesman for Abe’s office didn’t immediately respond to an email seeking comment.

The scandals have pushed Abe’s approval ratings toward all-time lows, raising questions about his ability to win the ruling Liberal Democratic Party’s leadership election in September. Victory would put him on track to become Japan’s longest-serving prime minister."

@unity  I'd be interested to hear what you have to say.  I recall some kerfluffle about Abe wanting to have a bigger military, but not anything else, and thought the people were behind him on that score. Was I wrong?  Notice one thing in both these articles, the word "young" describing the protesters.

Putin warns of 'chaos' in international order if Syria gets attacked again

April 15, 2018

Vladimir Putin, in a phone call to his Iranian counterpart, warned that the world will see 'chaos' if Syria is attacked again.

snip video

"Russian President Vladimir Putin warned on Sunday that further Western attacks on Syria would bring chaos to world affairs, as Washington prepared to increase pressure on Russia with new economic sanctions.

In a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani, Putin and Rouhani agreed that the Western strikes had damaged the chances of achieving a political resolution in the seven-year Syria conflict, according to a Kremlin statement.

"Vladimir Putin, in particular, stressed that if such actions committed in violation of the U.N. Charter continue, then it will inevitably lead to chaos in international relations," the Kremlin statement said.

The United States, France and Britain have said the missile strikes were limited to Syria's chemical weapons capabilities."

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/04/15/putin-warns-of-chaos-in-international-order-if-syria-gets-attacked-again.html?recirc=taboolainternal

It seems to me that the chemical attacks, both last year and this year have no basis, in fact, and are totally unproven.  Let's remember also that our attacks have mainly been against ISIS, and Hezbollah, which means we are helping Assad, not working against him.

I'm gonna say it again----"All the world's a stage."

Gunfire Heard At Saudi Royal Palace In Riyadh As Rumors Of Attempted Coup Mount

April 21, 2018            Tyler Rogoway

"Details remain very sketchy but there is elevating talk that a coup attempt has been made against King Salman of Saudi Arabia. Heavy gunfire was heard around the sprawling royal palace complex overnight in the Kingdom, and various reports state that the King had been moved to a safe bunker complex at an air base nearby. Other sources say it may be a terror attack or an assault by Houthi forces that infiltrated the country, or even the result of a small drone overflying a palace checkpoint. So at this point, we really don't have a definitive answer as to what is going on.

snip

It's not as if the crown doesn't have its enemies among major Saudi military and business power players. After arresting, holding captive, and stripping funds and powerful positions from some of the country's most elite royals, and pushing through reforms and a foreign policy agenda that would have been considered radical a year ago, there is no doubt that the sitting royal family is a major target.

King Salman's son, Mohammad Bin Salman, who is widely viewed as the primary force behind moderate reforms made under his father's reign, and will likely be the named king in the near future, is probably the biggest target for those in the Royal apparatus that diverge from his vision for the country."

snip  video

http://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/20298/gunfire-heard-at-saudi-royal-palace-in-riyadh-as-rumors-of-attempted-coup-mount

There were rumors early today, but everyone was claiming hoax, so it wasn't posted.  However that video and others I watched, sure sounded like gunfire to me.   Q has indicated that something supposed to come out of SA soon, special info, so do I think there could have been an attempt to stop it? Yes I do.

US has lost 'mediator role' in Middle East: Erdogan

May 14, 2018     AFP

"London (AFP) - The US has lost its role as mediator in the Middle East by moving its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in London on Monday.

"With its latest step, America has chosen to be a part of the problem, not a solution, and lost its mediator role in the Middle East peace process," Erdogan told the Chatham House international affairs think-tank.

Moving the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem was "very, very unfortunate", he said, warning it would "increase tensions and ignite an even greater fire between communities".

His remarks came as violent clashes erupted along Gaza's border ahead of the controversial embassy opening, leaving dozens of Palestinians dead and hundreds wounded in the conflict's bloodiest day in years."

Iranian Group Offers $100,000 to Blow Up New U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem

From May 14, 2018   <<anyone recall seeing this?     Adam Kredo

"A hardline Iranian organization is reportedly offering a $100,000 reward to any person who bombs the newly opened U.S. embassy in Jerusalem, according to a translation of Farsi language reports.

A group known as the Iranian Justice Seeker Student Movement is reported to have disseminated posters calling for an attack on the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem, which has been opposed by Palestinian and Iranian officials as an affront to the holy city.

"The Student Justice Movement will support anybody who destroy the illegal American embassy in Jerusalem," the poster states in Farsi, Arabic, and English, according to an independent translation of the propaganda poster provided to the Free Beacon.

There will be a "$100,000 dollar prize for the person who destroys the illegal American embassy in Jerusalem," the poster states."

Iran’s non-nuclear threat to the world

Also from May 14, 2018    Madyson Hutchinson Posey

Iran’s nuclear ambitions have been much in the news — and rightly so. The rogue state’s propensity to meddle violently in its neighbors’ affairs make the prospect of a nuclear Iran frightening, indeed.

But the international community’s focus on the mullahs’ nuclear and missile programs has left Iran’s cyberwarfare somewhat ignored. That must change.

Iran’s offensive cybercapabilities pose a significant, long-term threat to the U.S. and its allies. Already Iran has carried out highly damaging cyberattacks against us and other nations.

Such attacks can be expected to increase in both frequency and the damage done, as Iran continues to expand its cyberwar program.

Since 2011, Iran has invested $1 billion in cybertechnology, infrastructure and expertise. In 2012, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed to be training over 120,000 individuals for advanced cyberwarfare. That same year, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei created the Supreme Council of Cyberspace — its mission: to oversee the “defense of the Islamic Republic’s computer networks and develop new ways of infiltrating or attacking the computer networks of its enemies.”

Some of the most devastating cyberattacks, thought to have originated in Russia or China, actually came from Iranian hackers."

Brazil's truckers protest drags on despite dispatch of military

May 26, 2018          Flavia Bohone and Marcelo Teixeira

"SAO PAULO (Reuters) - A truckers protest over diesel prices in Brazil that is hurting supplies of fuel, food and medicines continued for the sixth day on Saturday despite President Michel Temer ordering the military to clear blocked roads the day before.

Major cities have declared a state of emergency as gas stations and airports ran out of fuel, supermarket shelves went bare and hospitals said they were running out of supplies. Public transport and trash collection were reduced or halted across the country and prices for some food items jumped.

The government said there were fewer blockades on major highways across the country on Saturday compared to Friday. However, the main entity representing truckers, ABCAM, said they have not changed their main argument that they will call off protests only when federal taxes over diesel are scrapped.

Negotiators for several trucker groups initially agreed on Thursday to suspend the protests as the government vowed to subsidize and stabilize diesel prices, which may cost 5 billion reais ($1.4 billion) this year."

France's far left leads protests against Macron reforms

May 26, 2018

"PARIS (Reuters) - France’s main far left party, the hardline CGT trade union and some 80 other organizations on Saturday led several thousand people in street protests across the country against President Emmanuel Macron’s reforms of the public sector.

Organizers hoped that the protests would grow further into a groundswell of opposition to Macron’s reform of France’s public service and some state enterprises such as the heavily indebted national railway company SNCF.

Union officials and the police gave widely different figures for the turnout. CGT said 80,000 people participated in the protest in Paris, and 250,000 came out nationwide. The police, however, said the protest drew 21,000 in Paris."

Bashar al-Assad warns US troops to leave Syria as he raises prospect of clash

May 31, 2018       Josie Ensor

"The US should learn the lesson of Iraq, President Bashar al-Assad said on Thursday, threatening to expel American troops from Syria and retake areas from its Kurdish allies.

In the interview with RT, the Russian state's international broadcaster, Assad raised the prospect of conflict with US forces if they do not leave Syria.

He vowed to recover territory where American troops have deployed, either through negotiations with Washington's Syrian allies or by force.

Assad, who is backed by Russia and Iran, appears militarily unassailable in the war that has killed an estimated half a million people, uprooted around 6 million people in the country, and driven another 5 million abroad as refugees.

After recovering much of the rebels' onetime strongholds, Assad now controls the biggest part of Syria. But tracts remain outside his control.

That includes large parts of the north and east where US special forces deployed during the fight against Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil), supporting the Kurdish-dominated Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

Assad said the government had "started now opening doors for negotiations" with the SDF, whose main component, the Kurdish YPG, has mostly avoided conflict with Damascus in the war.

"This is the first option. If not, we're going to resort to ... liberating those areas by force. We don't have any other options, with the Americans or without the Americans," he said."

Top US commander says secret talks are underway to end Afghan war

May 30, 2018            Jamie McIntyre

"Some factions of the Taliban are engaged in secret negotiations with the government in Kabul to bring an end to the war in Afghanistan, which has been going on for more than 16 years, a senior U.S. general said Wednesday.

In a briefing for reporters at the Pentagon, Gen. John Nicholson, the commander of U.S. and coalition forces in Afghanistan, cited “intensified dialogue” along with what he said was a 30 percent drop in the levels of violence as evidence President Trump's new Afghan strategy was working to drive at least some Taliban members to the bargaining table.

“I call this talking and fighting,” Nicholson said. “We've seen this in other conflicts, such as Colombia, where the two sides were talking about peace at the same time that they were fighting each other on the battlefield.”

Nicholson said while the Taliban has not acknowledged the peace plan proposed by Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in February, privately there is a “robust dialogue” going on within the Taliban, and some meetings between the Afghan government and mid- and senior-level Taliban leaders."

Austria Closes 7 Mosques and Seeks to Expel Imams Paid by Turkey

June 8, 2018                 Melissa Eddy

"BERLIN — Chancellor Sebastian Kurz of Austria on Friday ordered the closing of seven mosques and the scrutiny of the right of dozens of Turkish imams to remain in the country, citing suspected violations of an Austrian law that bans “political Islam” or foreign financing of Muslim institutions.

The government’s move comes as Turks living in Austria and in other countries began casting absentee ballots for the June 24 presidential election. Mr. Kurz, who governs in a coalition  with the far-right Freedom Party, campaigned last year on a plan to crack down on illegal immigration and radical Islam.

“Parallel societies, politicized Islam or radical tendencies have no place in our country,” Mr. Kurz said at a news conference announcing the measures in Vienna on Friday.

Roughly 600,000 Muslims, most of them Turks or of Turkish descent, live in Austria, a country of 8.8 million."

Erdogan wins re-election in historic Turkish polls

Umut Uras        June 25, 2018

"Istanbul, Turkey - Recep Tayyip Erdogan has won the country's key presidential vote, electoral officials have said, in a result that will allow him to keep his seat with increased powers and become Turkey's first executive president.

With 99.2 percent of ballots counted, Erdogan received on Sunday more than half the votes required to secure an outright victory, Sadi Guven, the head of the Supreme Election Committee (YSK), told reporters in the capital, Ankara.

Earlier, state-run Anadolu news agency had reported that Erdogan's share of the vote stood at 52.5 percent.

"Our democracy has won, the people's will has won, Turkey has won," Erdogan told a crowd of enthusiastic supporters in the capital, Ankara, thanking the Turkish citizens who cast their ballots in an election that saw a record turnout of 87 percent.

The 64-year-old also declared victory for the People's Alliance, a bloc between his ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) and the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), saying they had won a parliamentary majority in the legislative elections, also held on Sunday."

'No evidence' to back IS claim for deadly Toronto attack: police

July 25, 2018        AFP

"Montreal (AFP) - Canadian authorities said Wednesday they have no evidence to substantiate a claim by the Islamic State group that the gunman who killed two people in a Toronto rampage was an IS fighter.

The group's Amaq news agency said the gunman, identified by police as 29-year-old Faisal Hussain, was an IS "soldier" responding to its calls for attacks on nationals from countries fighting the group in Iraq and Syria.

"At this stage, we have no evidence to support these claims," Toronto police said in a statement.

"We will continue to explore every investigative avenue, including interviewing those who knew Mr Hussain, reviewing his online activity, and looking into his experiences with mental health," police spokeswoman Meaghan Gray said.

"We will continue to explore every investigative avenue, including interviewing those who knew Mr Hussain, reviewing his online activity, and looking into his experiences with mental health," police spokeswoman Meaghan Gray said.

The attack occurred Sunday night in Toronto's Greektown area when the shooter opened fire at people on a crowded street before turning his attention to nearby restaurants.

Rushing to the scene, police exchanged fire with the gunman, who was found dead in an alleyway.

An 18-year-old woman and a 10-year-old girl were killed in the rampage, and 13 people were wounded.

Hussain's family said he had suffered since infancy from serious mental problems, which treatment and medication were unable to overcome."

Leader of self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic killed in E. Ukraine blast

August 31, 2018             RT

"An explosion that rocked a cafe in central Donetsk city, in eastern Ukraine, has killed Aleksandr Zakharchenko, the leader of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, and injured several other top officials.
“The head of the DPR, Aleksandr Zakharchenko, has died as a result of a terrorist act,” a spokesperson of the self-proclaimed republic’s administration told journalists, revealing no details of the incident.

“An improvised explosive device was planted inside the café … right near the entrance,” Aleksandr Kazakov, an advisor to the DPR leader, told RT, adding that the killers apparently knew that Zakharchenko would arrive at the café and were “waiting” for him. A state of emergency has been imposed, Kazakov said, adding that borders with both Ukraine and Russia were sealed as the security services are “actively searching for the potential perpetrators.”

In Germany, the people are speaking out, after a German man was stabbed by an Iraqi and a Syrian refugee.  She has an entirely different story of the protest than the news told.   She also notes it was Antifa that arrived and laid in the streets, not the peacefully protesting German citizens.

And the whole act indicating the wrath Pres. Putin is copping, by them trying to drag him down.

Look, we already know that there are some bunch of blood liners from Roman time who are even above the Cs we know of.

In fact, Russia was governed by part of that blood line, before, too.

But as we know what happened to the Romanov family......current group of people trying hard to give Russian people peace are DIFFERENT from them. These people actually trying hard to get rid of the infected Cs.

So no point in dragging President Putin down. That'd end up causing hell of difficulties for the Humans. I'd rather support what they are doing than causing them hardship by extending the financial difficulties. I stand with/by the Humanity.

We all gotta ask this question to our selves---"where do I stand?"

Chaos regarding the US.
Khashoggi He was not a citizen of the US,  he was a Saudi citizen. Writing for the Wa Post, resident of the US via a visa. I've collected links to info, but imo, no one is telling the truth about what happened, and what this is really all about.   So many could be involved because of his connections.  A sordid mess is what it is.

Fulford definitely says some interesting things in this video. Including that the young bin Salman was killed in that attack on the royal compound posted above, back on April 21, 2018.

Thank you always for your deep look at the incidents, breezy!

Source: .youtube.com/watch?v=cgkbdr1iT94

After hearing from a female journo who went to Saudi and surrounding countries loads of times, as well as she successfully meeting with the elder bro of MBS when he arrived to Japan, stated that probably from the side of Saudi, people must be thinking "what's so bad about it???", we the researchers face to even more difficult wall to get through........such treatment to someone in question is a "norm" for hundreds of years, culturally....:;(∩´﹏`∩);:

This kinda attitude probably make it difficult to figure out who had done it, and suddenly Turkey became a country sun shining from their ass in the international community. So was this planned to have that effect? Or the Turks riding on the end of the effect? Crykey....we can read into this incident so deeeeeeep....

And I go along with your opinion about the tweet response to what R. Paul had spat out.

Saudi Arabia Won't Extradite Suspects In Khashoggi Case To Turkey

Oct. 28, 2018           Katie Cammarata , Nnamdi Egwuonwu

"Saudi Arabia says it won't send suspects in journalist Jamal Khashoggi's death to Turkey to be tried.

On Saturday, Saudi Arabia's foreign minister said once his country's investigation of the case is over, those found responsible will be prosecuted on Saudi soil.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan requested the extradition in a speech to members of his ruling party last week. During that speech, he also said his country has information that the Saudi government "planned" and "executed" Khashoggi, though he didn't elaborate.

The events surrounding Khashoggi's death have been unclear. But after weeks of changing stories, on Thursday, Saudi Arabia said the suspects in Khashoggi's death planned it ahead of time. That information reportedly came from Turkish investigators."
