BREAKING: Israel Retaliates, Launches Missile Attack At Syria

DK   April 21, 2017

"The Israel Defense Forces [IDF] has returned fire at Syria, launched missiles at Syria’s Quneitra province after missiles from the region allegedly were sent into Israel.

The IDF struck sources in Syria from where errant fire emanated and hit open areas on the northern Golan Heights on Friday afternoon, the military confirmed.

Two rockets landed in open territory on the Golan Heights Friday afternoon. No damage or injuries were reported.

According to initial estimates, the projectiles were thought to have been errant fire from fighting in the civil war across the border in Syria.

The rocket alert siren was activated in several settlements on the Golan Heights.

The incident came after the army reported that a mortar fell on the northern Golan Heights on Friday afternoon."

Merkel to meet Putin to discuss crises in Syria and Ukraine

May 1, 2017

"German Chancellor Angela Merkel is due to meet Vladimir Putin in Russia for the first time since 2015.
The meeting, at Mr Putin's summer residence in Sochi, comes at a low point in bilateral relations over the war in Syria and Russia's annexation of Crimea.
They are expected to discuss both issues during their meeting - but no breakthroughs are expected.
Mr Putin will then meet Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday.
Ties between Russia and Germany have worsened since Russia's 2014 annexation of Crimea in Ukraine, with Germany being a driving force behind the EU sanctions imposed in response.
The pair, who are among the most powerful world leaders, have crossed paths at international summits recently.
But this meeting - with the official purpose of discussing the G20 summit of world leaders to be held in Hamburg in July - is the first trip Mrs Merkel has made to Russia in two years.

Mrs Merkel wants Russia to seek an end to the conflict in Ukraine by using its influence on pro-Russian separatists, and also needs Moscow's cooperation to bring peace to Syria, the BBC correspondent in Berlin, Damien McGuiness, says.
But President Putin equally needs Mrs Merkel's support in to lift the EU's sanctions, our correspondent adds, and is keen to hear her view of US President Donald Trump, whom she recently met."

The Looming War Nobody Is Talking About

May 15, 2017
Written by Darius Shahtahmasebi

Source:  http://theantimedia.org/war-israel-hezbollah-nobody-talking/

(ANTIMEDIA) A war that took place only a decade ago is set to reignite in the Middle East – but no one is talking about it.

According to Reuters, Lebanese Hezbollah said on Thursday that any future conflict between their forces and Israel could take place inside Israeli territory, a move that is expected to increase tensions between the two militaries even further.

Hezbollah’s leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, also said in a televised live speech that they were dismantling all of its military positions along Lebanon’s eastern border with Syria and that this area would now be patrolled solely by the Lebanese army.

Israel “is scared and worried of any future confrontation … and knows that it could be inside the occupied Palestinian territories,” Nasrallah said. “There will be no place that is out of reach of the rockets of the resistance or the boots of the resistance fighters.”

While Reuters notes that some experts see the aims of Nasrallah’s statements as a deterrent, it is worth observing that Israel has been preparing for its rematch with Hezbollah for some time now. Israel previously directly struck Hezbollah targets from within Syria, and a Syrian official responded with a statement that Syria will support Hezbollah against Israel. Hezbollah has been a natural ally of Syria for some time now, even dating back to the reign of Hafez al-Assad, Bashar al-Assad’s father.

Considering there are numerous Iranians on the ground in Syria already, this chain of events could pit Iran directly against Israel. In fact, an Iranian general was assassinated by an Israeli air strike in 2015, an event that received little to no condemnation from the international community (how would Israel react if it was the other way round?)

Even if this war doesn’t erupt into a regional one, Israel has already warned that the next war will not be “simple” or “easy.” A Lebanese commander in turn stated:

“I can assure you we have a nice, shiny new anti-aircraft system to show them…We’ve got heavy long-range missiles, directly from the Russians, that can hit anywhere in Israel.”

Another Hezbollah official reportedly told U.S. government-funded Voice of America that the Syrian war arena is a “dress rehearsal” for their “next war with Israel.” As noted by the Hill:

“The new cadre of fighters Hezbollah is bringing in is also professionalizing what was previously an explicitly guerrilla-oriented organization. The fight for Syria against the nominally Sunni “Takfiri” (apostate) ISIS, has been a gift to the Shia Hezbollah, spurring recruitment efforts. Put simply, Hezbollah is not just getting better at fighting, its army is also getting bigger.” [emphasis added]

The other crucial omission from western media’s reports on this looming conflict is the fact that in response to Donald Trump’s April strike on the Syrian government, Russia and Iran issued a joint statement together with Hezbollah that the next time such an attack occurs, Syria’s allies will respond with force. This alliance places Russia directly on the side of Hezbollah.

The last battle between the two entities played out in 2006 and was deemed a “failure” for Israel by a government-appointed panel. Considering that this was before Hezbollah survived a six-year-long conflict in Syria, which has only boosted its numbers and battle-hardened its soldiers, the next confrontation with Israel is sure to be bloody.

While sabre-rattling continues between world powers with nuclear capabilities, this looming conflict is being prepared behind the scenes. It was not long ago that these two entities directly fought against each other, and ever since, Israel has practically been begging Hezbollah to respond to the numerous air strikes on its military positions. In that context, Hezbollah has shown extraordinary restraint in launching an attack in retaliation.

What’s going on right now is more than mere provocation; war between Israel and Hezbollah is a very real possibility  — in fact, it is technically still ongoing. The potential for this antagonism to spiral out of control is too big to ignore, despite corporate media’s almost complete inattention to it.

Britain on lockdown: Army deploys 1,000 heavily armed soldiers to guard London, Parliament is closed to the public and Changing of the Guard is cancelled after Theresa May warns ANOTHER terror attack is 'imminent'

Richard Spillet   Sam Tonkin     May 24, 2017

"Britain took the unprecedented step of deploying hundreds of soldiers to patrol the streets of London today as the country woke up to a heightened terror threat following the Manchester suicide bombing.
Around 1,000 heavily-armed military personnel from the Royal Artillery, Paratroop and Irish Guards regiments are outside the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace and other UK landmarks after Theresa May warned that a fresh terror attack may be 'imminent'.
The extraordinary steps were taken as police in Manchester revealed it is 'very clear' suicide bomber Salman Abedi was part of a terror 'network' and an off-duty woman police officer was among his 22 victims.
Soldiers in camouflage combat fatigues carrying the SA-80 rifles usually only fired in war zones patrolled beside Metropolitan Police officers through the streets of Whitehall this afternoon.
It is the first time such a step has been taken since Tony Blair sent tanks to guard Heathrow Airport in 2003 and will be the first time most Britons have ever witnessed uniformed troops on their streets.
Lines of soldiers filed into the Houses of Parliament today in the largest-scale deployment at the world-famous site since the Second World War.
It came as a raft of measures were taken to increase security, with the Palaces of Westminster in lockdown, the Changing of the Guard cancelled and even a victory parade by Chelsea FC called off.

Salman Abedi, a 22-year-old Mancunian of Libyan descent, killed 22 people - including a girl aged just eight - and injured 119 more when he detonated an explosive device packed with nuts and bolts in the foyer of the Manchester Arena.
Twenty people remained in 'critical care' this morning, with some having suffered 'horrific injuries' including major organ damage and potential loss of limbs.
Soldiers are replacing armed police at many popular tourist spots as part of the Met Police's Operation Temperer, which will free up police officers to fight the terror threat. Many police forces are not taking up the offer of military support, but 4,000 extra troops are also on standby if needed.
Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick said: 'The military are here and a number of locations in London in order to allow us, the police, to put more armed officers on the streets to support the public, and to protect the public and to protect events.'
Ms Dick said there were 'clearly a number of unknowns' since the attack on Monday and security services needed to get 'a better understanding' of the situation before the threat level could be reduced."

Manila Casino Attack:  Police recover 36 bodies, but Say "It's not Terror"

Jim Gomez  June 2, 2017

"He either lost it in the casino and wanted to recoup his losses, or he went totally nuts"

Philippines Police say they don't believe it was a terror attack, even though ISIS has claimed responsibility

"Thirty-six people suffocated from smoke after a gunman stormed a casino-hotel complex in the Philippines and set fire to gambling tables, police have said.

Metropolitan Manila police chief Oscar Albayalde said none of the bodies had gunshot wounds.

Authorities said earlier they believed robbery was the motive for the attack at the Resorts World Manila, which sent people fleeing into the streets during the night, with dozens suffering minor injuries during the stampede."

Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Bahrain cut ties to Qatar

June 5, 2017

"Qatar calls decision by Gulf nations and Egypt 'unjustified', saying allegations against Doha have 'no basis in fact'.

38ef15e405964a718bc06666487c9b06_18.jpg

Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Bahrain, Yemen and the Maldives say they are severing diplomatic relations with Qatar.

The Saudi kingdom made the announcement via its state-run Saudi Press Agency early on Monday, saying it was taking action for what it called the protection of national security.

The news agency released a statement in which it accused Qatar of "harbouring a multitude of terrorist and sectarian groups that aim to create instability in the region".

So Qatar is isolated by Saudi, etc., because of terrorist groups?  Is this the pot calling the kettle black?  They have also shut off air/sea access.

Just spotted this - I do not know the source or accuracy......

Saudi Arabia has announced 10 "conditions" to Qatar via Kuwait (since they have cut diplomatic relations). These "conditions", or demands rather based on the actual nature of the requests are to be fulfilled in less than 24 hours. The "choice" is in Qatar's hands.

1. Cut all diplomatic ties with Iran, immediately.

2. Expulsion of all Hamas members, freezing their assets and suspension of all dealings with them.

3. Stop the broadcast of the State owned media and news outlet, Al Jazeera.

4. Official announcement with an apology to all gulf state governments, in terms of offenses broadcasted from Al Jazeera.

5. That Doha should pledge not to play any political role or exercise any governmental control that is contrary to or is inconsistent with the policies of the Gulf States.

6. To commit to the pact signed in 2012 during the reign of the late King Abdullah._

7. Expulsion of members of the Muslim brotherhood.

8. To stop interfering with Egyptian, Arab or Gulf state internal affairs.

9. To stop supporting terrorist organizations in all their forms and by all means.

Have yet to find the 10th demand, it might not have been released yet.

There will be a conference in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia tomorrow, with all members of the GCC including Qatar.

Please disregard the image here it's from CNN. Just a place holder to post this info. I've been advised not to post this, since the internet in the ME is under heavy surveillance, especially involving this. (Partly why I'm not using hashtags recently)._

These are orders, any nation wouldn't stand for another nation demanding such things and expecting them to kneel. Also they are damning, full of accusations and it omitted the role of KSA in some of these matters (particularly number 8.)_

Depending on how Qatar reacts, this could be the start of a major escalation, or the beginning of the loss Qatar's autonomy._

My source was from somewhere else, but here are some news outlets that said the same. Use Google translate to read._

Yep, makes you wonder what really happened. Must be something big to suddenly respond in this way. What's going to happen to the everyday citizen there?

Can you feel the Geo-political-tectonic plates moving and about to collide?

When I first hear this news, I was not entirely eluded in to who was who. I haven't looked at a map in a long time. However my first thought, was this the internal struggle becoming very big against the force as represented by the figurehead Clintons and that Trump was behind this. Which he then tweeted to allude to in his typical style.

Do you remember a story about a transfer of money to Qatar (search results, try it yourself) - https://www.mgtow.com/forums/topic/hillary-transfers-1-8-billion-from-the-clinton-foundation-to-qatar/

That's the last time I heard of Qatar in terms of associated with a person or event of interest.

Then this story of gift given to Trump (Us people essentially) -- I have not verified it's true, anyone? - http://nation.com.pk/international/28-May-2017/shah-salman-gifts-items-to-trump-worth-12-billion

Ten we have this story, I haven' read enough but does it ring true?

Quote

The record $110 billion arms deal US President Donald Trump inked on his visit to Saudi Arabia is “fake news,” a former CIA analyst and counterterrorism expert said Monday.

https://sputniknews.com/military/201706061054377629-fake-news-deal-arms-riyadh/

I really loathe this term "fake news", it's called Propaganda, but then again most people think there is no War.

So my instinctual conclusion was that Trump is gaming the House of Saud to embolden them to act-out -- look what has happened in the last few days Qatar (which no one seems to be able to comprehend) and Iranian Parliament attack. No basis for this other than the idea simply sprang into my mind, of course Trump may be the one being gamed here. It's impossible to know anything truly and we have to keep an eye on the various power plays.

it would be funny if Trump gamed Saudi Ariba to lynch a Clinton stronghold and while also forcing them to reveal their hand in supporting ISIS... but that might be far too clever for one day! ;)

The reason I made sure this story got posted, was because I sensed more going on here than we know  (are aware of).  Yes I was also aware of the story about Clinton's moving 1.8 Billion to Qatar last October. Hillary, actually, and while running for Pres., but had also read it was a hoax/fake story.  Since I couldn't prove it wasn't, I erased it from my post.  I felt it was true because it was supposedly a wikileaks email that leaked it.  Also, that the money transferred was from the Clinton Foundation. OK, does anyone recall the CF took in massive amounts of donations for Haiti, the donations never got to Haiti, however.  I'm sure we also recall the Haitian PM begging Trump to please help him get the money that was rightfully theirs to help rebuild their country, but had never been given to them by the CF.  It seems Turkey is also building a huge airbase in Qatar.  Turkey works with Iran, correct?  More digging required.

Here you go  PE

*** BREAKING NEWS *** Haitian President EXPOSES the Clinton Foundation & Hillary

Well I'll be a son of a gun.   The date of this video was Sept. 18, 2016, and she allegedly transferred that $1.8 Billion to Qatar on Oct. 16, 2016!   The following link is where I read the story, although it was on other sites as well.

http://www.puppetstringnews.com/blog/hillary-suddenly-moves-18-billion-to-qatar-national-bank

However, after doing a search for the story this am, I found another video, listen to what Hodges says, seems I am not the only one who thought about this, and I never saw this until today, nor was I aware of what he said regarding the amount.

Clinton's Have Transferred $1.8 billion to Qatar Who Has No Extradition Agreements

Interesting, indeed!   Not only that, but two of the Pres. debates, Hodges mentioned Trump told Hillary he'd investigate her, were on Sept. 26, 2016 (a week after the first video with Trump and the Haitian Pres.) and October 9, 2016, (a week before alleged transfer of money) and the last one was on October 19, 2016,  3 days after the alleged money transfer.    I have to admit Trump vs Clintons geopolitical plates colliding, did occur to me also, and now that I see all these dates coinciding, well holy smoke!  Now all this strange goings on w/Qatar, after Trump visit?  More than one way to skin a cat?

That is interesting, and one post does give insight into WHY HRC was/is so mad about not winning the election.  At the end Jack Prosobiec says agency has been investigating CF for months, and to expect subpoenas.  hmmm    I thought I read somewhere that the info about the money transfer to Qatar was from Wikileaks, but went back to article I posted and it seems it's come from the Sorcha Faal site.  I do NOT discount their info, as I've found their info ends up being right on, more than once, and they tell exactly how it was done and which banks were involved.  This twitter link seems to back up, what the intent was.  Do these horrendous people ever take into consideration the people, or the impact of their actions?  How do they sleep at night? nvm  smh

QATAR VOWS “NO SURRENDER” to SAUDI….AND THEN HANDS OVER CONTROL OF COUNTRY’S SECURITY AND POLICY TO IRAN AND TURKEY

June 8, 2017

"Qatar has vowed it will “not surrender” its foreign policy in a row with other Arab states over its alleged connections to extremism.

Foreign minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani said he favoured diplomacy to resolve the escalating crisis and that there was no military solution, Reuters reported.

Qatar rejects claims it is a leading supporter of Islamist extremism.

Meanwhile, Qatar’s Al Jazeera network said it was suffering a cyber-attack.

“Al Jazeera Media Network under cyber-attack on all systems, websites and social media platforms,” it tweeted. The network has been in the crosshairs in the current dispute, and other Gulf countries blocked it in late May.

On its website, Al Jazeera said its services were all still working but the attacks “are gaining intensity and taking various forms”.

Saudi Arabia and other states cut travel and diplomatic links on Monday. The emir of Kuwait is trying to mediate the row, carrying out shuttle diplomacy between Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE)."

Qatar calls on Trump to help solve Gulf crisis

June 9, 2017

"Qatar has mentioned US president Donald Trump is “crucial” to resolving the crisis that has remoted the small gas-exporting nation and can take into account concessions to appease Saudi Arabia and its Gulf allies if they arrive with an inventory of calls for.

Meshal bin Hamad al-Thani, Qatar’s ambassador to the US, additionally informed the FT that Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain — the three Gulf international locations that initiated an unprecedented diplomatic and financial blockade in opposition to Qatar — had mentioned they needed 10 days to submit their calls for.

“We believe in his ability to calm this crisis down,” Mr al-Thani mentioned of Mr Trump, who has spoken to Qatari, Saudi and UAE leaders up to now two days. “We are courageous enough to acknowledge if things need to be amended.”

Monday’s effort to isolate Qatar has shortly escalated right into a regional crisis threatening to attract Turkey, Russia and Iran after a number of international locations positioned an embargo on Qatar, closing down embassies, borders and air house, in addition to banning state-owned broadcaster Al Jazeera and expelling Qatari residents. Turkey has supplied troops whereas Iran supplied boatloads of meals in help of Qatar. "

US signals involvement in Syria could escalate

Rebecca Kheel               June 20. 2017

"The United States is inching closer to involvement in the Syrian civil war after U.S. forces shot down a Syrian fighter jet on Sunday.

The incident is the fourth time in as many weeks that the United States has shot at pro-Syrian-government forces, and it carries the potential for further escalation — particularly with Russia threatening to target U.S. aircraft that fly into parts of
 Syria.

A statement from the U.S. military said it shot down the Syrian SU-22 in self-defense and after contacting Russian counterparts through the established deconfliction zone. The Syrian aircraft was bombing U.S.-backed forces fighting the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) south of Tabqa.

It was the first time the United States has shot down a Syrian plane, and the first time a U.S. military jet has shot down any manned aircraft since 1999.

On Monday, Russia responded by saying its surface-to-air missile systems in Syria would begin to track manned and unmanned aircraft from the U.S.-led anti-ISIS coalition if they go west of the Euphrates River."

Protests, Looting, Gov't Offices Burned in Venezuela

June 27, 2017

"CARACAS, VENEZUELA —
A total of 68 stores were looted and several government offices were burned following anti-government protests late Monday and Tuesday in the city of Maracay, west of Venezuela's capital of Caracas.

Large protests against the government of President Nicolas Maduro have been regularly held in Caracas over the last three months, but significant protests have also occurred in provincial cities.

The pro-Maduro governor of Aragua state, of which Maracay is the capital, said the looting hit supermarkets, drug stores and small bakeries and liquor stores.

Gov. Caryl Bertho said a tax office, a government telephone office and ruling party headquarters were burned late Monday.

Some 216 people were arrested.

Bertho blamed protesters for the looting, but opposition activists say gangs of men on motorcycles looted without interference from authorities. Such groups are often government supporters."

South Africa's top court okays secret no-confidence Zuma ballot, but won't order one

June 22, 2017        Tanisha Helberg  Wendell Roelf

"JOHANNESBURG/CAPE TOWN (Reuters) - South Africa's top court ruled on Thursday that secret ballots may be held for motions of no confidence in parliament, a potential blow to the tenure of beleaguered President Jacob Zuma who said such a vote would be unfair.

The court's ruling by no means guarantees a secret ballot will be held, however. Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng said in effect that whether a secret ballot actually takes places is up to the Speaker of parliament.

But it ended any question about whether a secret ballot on Zuma could take place.

Zuma's critics want the no-confidence vote to be anonymous hoping it will embolden lawmakers from his African National Congress (ANC) party to support his ouster by shielding them from pressure.

His administration has been beset by scandals and criticised for failing to address serious economic problems.

"I think it is not fair because you are trying to increase the majority you don't have," Zuma told parliament after the court decision.

Zuma has survived four no-confidence votes during his eight years in power thanks to loyal voting by ANC lawmakers, who form a strong parliamentary majority."
